Looking to stay in ASSp in October 2015 and it says that they are offering a free breakfast....

The info on WDTC UK website lists this as part of the dining plans and states the breakfast offer is one quick service meal per night of stay. Does anybody know any more about this? Obviously I would look to pay for breakfast and use the credits toward a more expensive QS.

Thanks

Check out threads #50 and #52 at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3267656&highlight=breakfast&page=4

Hope that helps......

The T&Cs of the offer are fairly vague:
Bookings must include 5 nights minimum stay at a participating Walt Disney World Value Hotel plus purchase of Disney Tickets for the whole party travelling to receive a free breakfast (Quick Service Meal Voucher) per person per night of stay. Quick Service Meal Vouchers are not valid for children under 3 years. Children aged 3-9 (at time of visit) must order from the children’s menu where available.

I wouldn't plan on using it for another meal as the offer does state free breakfast but treat it as a bonus if you can :thumbsup2

Thank you. I had a suspicion Disney would not enforce this as a breakfast. I'm excited now :hyper:

Hopefully they don't, but I think as Tracy pointed out, you need to be prepared that they might - if not now, at some point in the future. If they change the policy prior to your date of travel it would affect you. Maybe have a plan A and a plan B so that you cater for both scenarios and hopefully they are gracious about it :goodvibes

You are right. The terms are very vague, but on the WDTC website, it does list the free breakfast offer as consisting of 1QS meal per night of stay. I guess they could enforce the breakfast element but that would be a bit mean of them. Plus on the WDTC website, it lists breakfast being available at over 50 locations (like a QS.) There are very few QS locations in the parks offering breakfast.

I think there is a very good chance "breakfast" will not be enforced but as you say, it will be a bonus.

It's just another sweetner for me. I mean, if I can't use it for a lunch/dinner we are probably looking at another $15 per day for the two of us. Not a biggie really.

They wouldn't necessarily have to enforce it as a breakfast in terms of what you eat. They could put caps on in different ways, like making you use it before noon for example, but not restricting what menu you order from. With your attitude though, you can't lose :)

I rang wdw tc regarding this offer.

The cm stated its a cs credit-which can be used at anytime-
Or to upgrade to qsdp/ddp as it worked out cheaper than obviously booking a mod or deluxe.:)

The option to upgrade is going to be an attractive one. I know from past experience that when pricing up POP vs POFQ it hasn't worked out cheaper to pay for dining at a value compared to the cost of Free Dining with a moderate. This changes the ballgame and gives better budget options. I'm really pleased they have done this. It will make an onsite stay possible for more families on a slightly tighter budget.

Booked two weeks 4th Feb to the 18th Feb staying at All Stars music Resort with the free breakfast. I'll be happy with just that but if has no time restraints that will just be an added bonus. Guess we will just have to see.

We are looking to stay at either ASMo or ASMu from 4th Nov 2015 for two weeks but I'm struggling to find the free breakfast deal on the WDTC UK site.

Could someone please point me in the right direction and do you only get this deal if you book direct with WDTC or would a travel agent be able to offer it also?

Thanks for the link :)

It looks like we will miss out by 4 days:worried:

Are you flexible with dates ? As long as your check in date is within the deal's dates, you get it for your entire stay, even if only your check in date is inside the deal's dates.

Now if I may reflect on the Breakfast deal, here's a simple calculation.

Sample period, Oct 17th 2015, 14 nights, 14 days tickets.
Calculations made for
1. 2 adults
2. 2 adults, 2 children under 10
3. 4 adults

ASMo : (includes 1CS meal, assuming that Disney doesn't enforce the breakfast only rule on that entitlement)

1. £1698
2. £2236
3. £2276

CBR : (includes free QSDP and $200 gift card)

1. £2314
2. £2852
3. £2892

for those 3 options, the price difference between ASMo and CBR, both standard rooms is £616, for all 3 options

CBR gets a $200 gift card, I will deduce that gift card from the price difference.
$200 at an acceptable rate of $1.55 to the quid, is £129

so, actually, the price difference between ASMo and CBR is 616 - 129 = £487

for option 1. (2 adults) this means that to get even, these 2 guests need to spend less than £487 / 14 nights / 2 guests = £17pp.pn on food and beverage.

for option 2. (2 adults, 2 children under 9), to get even those 4 guests need to spend less than £487 / 14 nights / 4 guests = £8.7pp.pn

for option 3. same calculation as above. £8.7pp.pn

if £17 per person per night is managable for one quick service and beverages on top of the free breakfast, £8.7 is more than tight for 2 adults and 2 children, and is unrrealistic for a party of 4 adults.

my point here is that booking a value with free breakfast will, at best, come at an even price than booking a moderate with free QSDP if you're a party of 2 and potentially more expensive if there are more than 2 guests in the room.

I wouldn't book a value with free breakfast when I could get a moderate for the same overall price, food accounted for. Even eating offsite would probably not cut it for £8.7 per person per night. And even if it did, it would be a couple of quids saved per night, or, to put it another way, a very, very cheap upgrade fee from value to moderate. But the number crunching shows that staying at a value with free breakfast will, for many guests, be more expensive than staying at a moderate with free QSDP

some guests will say that moderates are too expensive, because the price they see on the quote can be scary compared to the price of a value. But if you account for food, in the end the moderate is cheaper (under that FD offer)

Thanks so much for the advice. We have managed to book CBR instead and only paid an extra £211 total. We're happy with that, for sure. Thanks again.:yay:

i was just making this calculation myself..
i received an email yesterday about free dining in 2015 so went back in to take a second look - i'd already ruled it out last week as being too expensive for us (disney has significantly raised their prices).

i came into the forum to see if anyone knew whether that free breakfast could be used as lunch instead. I see the answer is, "anybody's guess".

i suppose they could put a time limit on the credit, although they might just let it be used as a general counter service credit and let it go at that.

i think they might be doing this to entice a few more people on board who are getting sticker shock from the moderates/deluxes. Though i'm getting sticker shock from the values as well.

I just priced a 2014 US free dining package and saw how much higher the prices are this year compared to what we paid 2 years ago.

and what with flights going through the roof, i just don't know how we're going to manage it.
