Just got an email notice of 2015 Condo Association Meeting Dec 10 at 2PM at the Contemporary.

The email was about PVB but I also own at BCV.

I arrive at MCO at 10:30AM and should be at PVB about noon on the 10th. So. I RSVP'd to attend!

IF this were any other timeshare, I'd avoid an "owner's update" like the plague...

I know members have basically consigned all rights away and so these meetings are pro forma, but I'm interested to see the process.

I'll be there again this year.

Interesting dog and pony show. Last year they took away the Q&A session so those in attendance aren't allowed to speak. Worth attending at least once.

I've attended every annual meeting from 2007 onward. They are definitely more scripted with little opportunity to ask a question in public.

I did not get an invite! Would be able to attend this year, a first.

DVC Mike, I've always wondered-was it your wife who had the bad medical experience in 2007 at Coronado Springs? I don't remember the details, exactly, but I think she fell.

2007 was the last Annual Meeting I attended. At first it was really interesting to meet others (I still remember meeting Chuck S and his mother in 2003) and get "scoops" (Boy, I remember the year they announced the new pool slide at OKW). But then, when some "scoops" didn't happen (I'm still waiting for those promised coffee tables in BWV studios), and members' voices were less and less encouraged, the "thrill" wore off for me. But definitely recommended for the first few years of membership, at least.

Yes. I dug up the old post:

Remember the meeting that Claire Bilby held, entertainment, Dapper Dan singers, a promise of transparency. Not long after she was replaced and was moved to Paris France. I guess Disney didn't like her having parities.

I am on Chat, and being to,d to wait until 4-6 weeks before the meet. This is because "no official information has been released by the Disney Vacation Clun."

I do not understand. How come some have received information?

Is it too late? I do not see anything about attending. I see something about getting info electronically.

The RSVP link is still available DVCMember.com under Condo Association News. The second item is:

Ok, I tried a different computer, my third try, and I found it! Thank you for coming back, and saying it's there.

The meeting is required each year but IMO Disney doesn't want people to attend. They do what's required during the meeting as a formality, can't wait to get through it and go home. Some of the management do a short PR visit with the crowds outside the venue in the lobby but anything that we have discussed never was followed up on as promised.

The required part of the meeting takes about 10 minutes, the voting of officers, etc. It's been awhile since I went but don't they then go into a presentation of upcoming changes? That part is not legally required. I do miss the QA but it was mostly canned answers anyway.

They do the voting local, voting Aulani, voting DL, have the CPA firm bless the budgets, report on the budgets, vote on the budgets, and report on major resort plans. In the past it was more of an event with entertainment and fanfare, now it's mostly business.

I will be at WDW that day, but somehow I think I will be at a park using a Fast Pass rather than attending the meeting.
