2014 MP Hopefuls!!!

Hey guys! Things are a little crazy here because most of the gas stations in town are sold out of gas. Thankfully, DH was able to get some tonight but I saw crazy lines all day long and I heard they are only letting emergency vehicles fill up tomorrow. I'm not sure what's going on because our area wasn't hit as hard as we thought it would be so I don't know why we would be running out of gas with crowds of people waiting hours to get it. I thought maybe it was from people coming from NJ or NYC but would they really drive 90 minutes to get gas?

I wanted to send the PMs tonight but things got a little nuts so ill be in touch with you guys over the weekend about the podcasting. In the meantime, if you could think of a day and time that might work for you to record we can try to come up with something that works for all of us.

That's great! My heart really goes out to everyone who has had a rough time with this storm. It's affected so many people, I really can't imagine how awful it must be to lose your home or worse. I really hope disaster relief efforts can be organized quickly so people don't have to suffer for a long time waiting for help.

Lines for gas here in long island are out of control. nearly half of long island is still without power, so that means half of the gas stations can't pump gas. The ones that can are running out because they can't get gas delivered. Even last night, at around midnight, I saw a line at least a mile long for a gas station.

I had to drive a good way to get a working train yesterday. Thankfully, the station in my town will be back up and running today. DW had to go to work today. She has a 45 minute drive each way and usually fills up twice a week. So even though we filled our cars right before the storm, we may need to get on one of those lines in the the next couple of days. not looking forward to it.

I would be all for a trip

I am back and forth. Mad most of the time, but trying to keep busy, but then a commercial comes on, or I have to answer someone's Disney question, and I am really sad.

A lot of my friends are asking me now "when is your phone interview" and I have to explain that I didn't get that far. They are all shocked and very supportive, but I just feel like crap!

Hubby will give me that "look" when he knows I am thinking about it, and I am like "don't, Just don't"

I ran into something similar in the mall once. Weird, but I did musical theatre in high school, so honestly I've seen and worn odder get ups in public.

relax, be yourself, be genuine, and don't spend too much time over-thinking your essays and video. keep it simple, honest, and up-beat. at least, that's what every MP I have ever asked has told me. Hopefully it will work next year, because I have tried to do that, and my writing and knowledge gets stronger every year. So, that's all I have to say! Hopefully someone else will chime in with more advice!

Every year I say "next year I am just going to be very "business like" about this, apply, wait to hear, and be done with it" But every year I get so excited and want this so badly, and then I am just crushed. Right now I am not sure I want to put myself through this again next year.

How is everyone doing? Not much to report here, just that it's freakin' cold up here! It's only 40 degrees, and it should be more like 55-60 for us this time of year. I have a feeling we are in for a rough winter.

Anyway, I hopped over to the MP2013 Round3 thread, and wished them all good luck for their interviews next week.

I honestly am very excited for them, they are all very special candidates. I am just still very hurt that I didn't get picked. It's like the reject kid in gym class that nobody wants!

I am still holding out for an email from Laura that says " we are so sorry Amy, we sent you the wrong email!!!"

So, I am sitting here wearing my Mickey PJ's, mouse ears, drinking a homemade Dole Whip and watching Alice in Wonderland. (the classic, not the creepy Johnny Depp version) Thought it would make me feel better. Maybe I should put some Vodka in the Dole Whip...hmmm...off to the kitchen...

I feel your pain. I keep thinking I'll see that same email. "Surely, they made a mistake!" You have an incredible passion and just need some time to heal. We all love Disney for our own reasons and I am just tring to tell myself that this is path that I'm meant to travel. I've always hated growth because it usually means pain. This is our time to grow and please don't doubt how wonderful you are! Just imagine if we make it to to the 2014 panel and how bonded we already are!
