DisneyLover I would say that taking a taxi from one resort to the next would be the smoothest transition.... If you are staying CL then you are generally greeted and checking in by a CL CM..who would be able to tell you before you head up to the check in area if your room is ready or if your bags need to be checked....sounds like a terrific split...Enjoy!! :thumbsup2

I see we're still posting at the same time :rotfl::rotfl:.

:sunny: Muggy here, wish I were at the courtyard pool with a fruity drink.
That sounds good to me too!:)

In the spirit of split stays...

This will be our first split stay - 2 nights GF followed by 5 nights BWI. The 2 nights will be to enjoy the resort and relax! We have never done GF before and are sooo excited
I can see this going badly, however. What does everyone consider the "smoothest" way to get front resort 1 to resort 2? Our park tickets will begin on day one at BWI, so I know we'll need to head over and check in. Should we just take a cab? We're staying CL, so if we were to bring our bags over in a cab, would we bring them to CL with us and they will take them if the room isn't ready? Or do we need to lug them back downstairs? Sorry for the questions, but I want this to be thoughtless once we're there! We need a vacation! :woohoo:
That's our split too. Don't worry everything will work out fine. We plan on transferring our luggage with GF bell service to BWI. Then we'll just head over to the MK and hop a bus to BWI. Taking a cab does sound a lot easier but we don't mind doing the bus.
Enjoy your trip:) and I'll let you know how our split goes... smoothly I hope.:goodvibes

~ Just wanted to add...was able to add a dinner at Ohana for our next trip...:goodvibes ...popped up last nite..late....maybe around 3:30 am ..lol.....:thumbsup2
:banana:Congrats on getting Ohana. Were you up thinking about your trip in the middle of the night.;) I've been there.

And I did read about those Frozen events at HS. They sound so cool.

For sure having bell services transfer your luggage it's so much easier : )

I like your idea of just taking the monorail to MK and getting on a bus there. Having to lug our bags around (even if just to and from a cab) sounds annoying. Thanks everyone for your input!

I was off of here all morning and I missed a lot of posting! You are all so cheerful, I love it :)

We do have a good time on here! And learn a lot of interesting stuff in the process....:thumbsup2 Not to mention viewing the great pictures people post, to keep us all feeling "Grand"! :goodvibes

Hello everyone. :wave2: We are going to be in WDW for 13 days in August and I'm considering doing laundry half way thru our stay rather than packing 13 days worth of clothes for 4 people. We are staying RPC and I read on the first page that there is only one washer machine and one dryer in the main building. Is this still accurate? Do you know if the other buildings also only have one washer and one dryer? I really hate doing laundry and have never done it at WDW but like I said, there will be 4 of us and we will be there for almost 2 weeks, we take breaks in the afternoon, shower/change before heading back out most days so that would be a lot of clothes to pack. I usually wake up very early so I figure that the laundromat wouldn't be busy at 5/5:30 in the morning. :laundry:

P.S.

Any word on if the main building is still on target to start the refurb on the 29th?

I can't answer about the washer/dryer, but as far as the refurb, everything has been on schedule so far. AFAIK, RPC is on schedule to begin this weekend :).

I read somewhere that you can request a microwave at the deluxe resorts.... Is this true? Staying at the Grand in December. Thanks.

I'd like to know too, we will be there 14 days and I always do laundry mid trip. I didn't notice last year because we did a split stay, and did laundry at YC.

Yes, it's subject to availability. There is also a microwave in Gasperillas.

:cloud9: Lucky you..what a nice long stay at the GF! Never done laundry while on vacation...If we run out of anything there are some very nice shops at the GF that we can go to...lol..vacation logic! I do know that the laundry room is on the second floor..thought there were two washers and dryers though..Did you check the first page or two of this thread?? k&a&c'smom has them packed with great info!

As for the construction..from what I hear everything is going along on schedule...I do believe that SL is opening this coming week..maybe even tomorrow???

~ We are on a dining roll...not only was I able to book the Ohana dinner (you know that middle of the nite checking...lol..)...IPO was able to get us an Ohana breakfast ressie... :woohoo:..My adult DD is very happy about this...lol...Kids! Wonder if they are open for lunch...I kid!!! lol....now if we can just get BOG in there... Its always about the food fellow GF fans...

~~A tip for others who like really look into which is the "best" park visit each day..besides all of the great info right here on the DIS..:goodvibes.. I always refer to the crowd calendar on Easy WDW... another great site with lots of info BTW...and recently came across another on kenny the pirate..looked pretty comprehensive...I am going to cross reference his predictions with those on Easy WDW today...lol... its always about the planning too...:thumbsup2 Pre vacation planning is making me need a vacation...

Hope that everyone has a super Saturday! :earsgirl: preppy GF gal who tried to switch her ressie to the GF in spite of her DDs excitement about being a Poly princess..but still couldn't! lol....
