Can anyone speak to the impact that grad nights have on DCA? Is it closed to the public early on those nights? Or open but you have to deal with a bunch of high school kids?

It generally closes at 10 pm to the public. The kids all have to be in the park by 10. The public is ushered out and certain parts if the park are closed immediately to them. There is usually one last WOC at 10:15 for the public and then they are pretty much herded to the exits.

The CM I spoke with was just as puzzled as I was. She said that their Spring Break Season officially starts on 3/31. She saw no reason why 3/30 would be blocked, as the following Sunday (4/6) is *not* blocked and would be more in the midst of Spring Break Season than 3/30 is. She checked several different databases to see why 3/30 was blocked, but she couldn't figure it out.

Just speculation, but I know up where I live, March 31st is Cesar Chavez day & is a County holiday. It would functionally make Sunday more of a Saturday (no school the following day).

The 31st is a holiday for LAUSD as well. But if that were the reason, wouldn't 3/31 be blocked too?

Just wanted to note that Seattle SD has spring break the week of April14th but the districts on the Eastside (Lake Washington, Bellevue, Mercer Island, Issaquah) all have the week of April 7th off instead.

Yep. That is when we are heading down. I'm hoping that week is "slow" since it appears to be between all of the other Spring break weeks.

March 13-16, 2014 is the Religious Education Congress which brings in thousands of people from all over the world. The parks will be absolutely packed in the late afternoon/evenings when the sessions get over. I didn't go last year, but the year before I couldn't believe how crowded it was.

How were the crowds during the week? We are thinking of going the 16-19 and I'm worried it's going to be crazy.
