2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival 9/19-11/10

Uh oh. I just checked my VISA online and all three events are in pending for wDW charges. But I noticed that the cost for the Dining through the decades event was $209.32 and that can't be right for two people. Reserved seating was supposed to be $119 each. I bet I have general admission in error. Oh, well. If that is the worst thing that happens in booking all of this early with my VISA, I think I can live with it. I wonder how large of a group will be at the event? It can't be anywhere near as crowded as PFTS.

Same thing for me. CM told me that reserved wasn't coming up and I bet it will on Thursday. I booked it anyway in fear of it selling out! LOL. It's not showing up on MDE and I tried to link the conf.number and it says it's invalid. Oh well.

* burp *

....how much of that $954.75 would be on toilet paper? popcorn::

You know, I bet the person in charge of budgeting/supplies at Disney would actually know.:rotfl2:

Hello,

I have plans on trying to book the 3D Disney Dessert Discovery event. I was reading that the event takes place from 8-9:30PM. Does it really only last an hour and a half?

For those of you that have done it in years past, is it worth it and are you able to enjoy everything in that short amount of time? I am also planning on trying to book the Sweet Seats so that will give us an extra 15 minutes.

We have done PFTS before and I know we had an ample amount of time there but I think we had 3-4 hours.

Thanks!

Cyndi

Funny, every review I read was positive feedback.

I :lovestruc:cloud9::love: LOVED :cloud9::lovestruc it!! There is a LOT of alcohol, but I like Pinnacle. My mom isn't big on sweets, but she loved the popcorn. She also likes JD Honey. While that wasn't there she found the Jim Beam to be comparable. I liked their cider. They also offered a savory table, pretzel rolls & dips. I liked all the desserts. The ice cream "hot dog" was a cute idea & the doughnuts were amazing. If you have any particular questions you can always PM. It was 1945-2100. I got 15 extra minutes b/c of Sweet Seats. It was plenty of time.

I was on hold 28 min (told 30) & got 3D Sweet Seats!! I wanted 10OCT, & the lady was nice enough to try a search a bunch of times. I should have said, "No," when asked if I was staying on property as she took a few minute to pull up the reservation. (Stupid propensity for being honest!!:duck: )

She did advise of being able to call back Thurday. She said, "I'm sorry, I've got seats for the 17th & the 3rd, but not the 10th." Then she said, "Wait! You check in 03OCT! Can you go that night?" (I can't believe that wanting to take of free dining & having to wait on the reservation paid off! )

:woohoo::dogdance:My seats are secured for $209.32. Now I'm off to move my tea back to Saturday where I had it to begin with. :woohoo::dogdance:

Good luck to those still holding!pixiedust:

Just an FYI. Called in right at 7 AM. Waited for 52 minutes. I was told that reserved seating for the October 18th PftS was sold out. Oh well, try again on Thursday.

My 4 minute estimated hold time (with no music) ended up being 30 minutes, but I got an awesome CM and was able to book the 3 events I wanted: Parisian Breakfast; Food & Beer Pairing and Tequila Lunch. (Yes, I did the survey! :thumbsup2)

I don't know if this will help anyone or not, but the CM found it easier to locate the events when I was able to give her the time of the event. :goodvibes

Good luck, everyone! pixiedust:

Was told 7 minute wait, took 23 minutes to answer. Very nice but slow CM. Got what we wanted -- sort of!

  • 3D Sweet Seats 10/10
  • Parisian Breakfast 10/11
  • Italian Regional F&W Pairing Luncheon -- as above post, it is actually on Fridays not Saturdays (and my info was from the TIW e-booklet) so we had to settle for 10/10
  • PTFS 10/11 BUT only GA was available (Cat 3) -- took that to avoid waking up at 4am again -- seems easier to run with the bulls that night than wake up so early and stress out
!

Only Disney can get me up at 4am and wait 30 minutes to spend $1800 on two days worth of eating!

Called right at 7am as well. 53 min on hold. Reserved PFTS on Oct 25 sold out too. Guess I get to have this fun all over again on Thursday! :coffee:

Was anybody able to book any of the Culinary Demos that sold out during the AP/TIW/DVC presale? I'm wondering if they didn't save any for the Chase Disney prebooking, only for the general sale.

I tried. Missed out on Robert Irvine the other day, so asked again today, and still no availability. The castmember did tell me to try when it opens to the general public on the 31st, so I guess they do hold some seats back.

I was able to book the Parisian Breakfast for Saturday, September 20th though! :goodvibes After being on hold for 45 minutes, I thought I'd be out of luck with that too.

If I decide not to book the sweet seats for the dessert party - can I book the 3D dessert standard, Parisian Breakfast and Tequila Lunch online on Thursday?

I really cannot ask to be on the phone to the US for 30 minutes or more! :rotfl:

I got reserved seating for 10/25. I was not put on hold at all, got through immediately.

Tommie: I was offered preferred for Walt but I wanted general. So they did have it.

I was just checking all my bookings and saw that the Walt event is listed as F&W Heatly Living Dinner at 7:30. Is this what yours showed???

Only on hold for about 10 minutes and got six events but could not get the reserved seats for Walt Disney: Dining through the Decades. Will try again on Thursday. Mrs Beerman got through on her call about 7:30AM and was told the same thing. Booked:

- PFTS with reserved seating (10/18 and 10/25)
- Flying Fish reserve dinner (10/22)
- Italy Food and Beer pairing (10/21)
- Tokyo Dining pairing (10/23)
- Parisian Breakfast (10/18)

Are you sure you got PFTS Reserved seating? The cost should be $189+Tax and when our CM was trying to do it (actually any of them as we wanted the Wine View Lounge) it would make them think they were selecting that option but giving them GA for $149+Tax ($157+).

Checking with supervisors, they said that since the reserved seating wasn't being offered, it was defaulting back to GA.

You might want to check what you REALLY reserved as PFTS last year did not have the reserved seating until the general availability date.

I guess we all get to do this again on Thursday! :cool1:

45 min on hold and got one event I wanted (food for thought w/ Rick Bayless) but couldn't get the other (food for thought w/ Bryan Voltaggio). Debating whether I will try on Thursday. Also noticed the price was $10 higher than noted on the Disney Food Blog - but that might be the tax. Good luck to everyone still on hold!!

The prices the reps are giving you when you book do include tax so they're higher than the base price listed on the blogs, F&W site, etc.

Don't worry too much about the events showing up incorrectly if you are booked for the correct day & time. Disney's system is weird. Happened to me last year with my Le Cellier Signature Lunch.

3D Dessert standard, yes. Parisian Breakfast and Tequila Lunch are by phone only.

67 minutes. Booked PFTS Reserved Seating 10/4. (Note no Wine View available. I had been debating trying just reserved as a solo and decided decision was made. Plus it saved $100)

Could not book either Mexican Tequila Lunch or Shake and Indulge on. 11/8. May try for one of them sometime Thursday.

I got reserved seating for 10/25. I was not put on hold at all, got through immediately.

Tommie: I was offered preferred for Walt but I wanted general. So they did have it.

I think the order I booked the events in may have doomed me...it took her quite a while to book the PFTS reserved for two dates and the FF dinner...by the time she got to Walt it might have been gone...she told me she didn't see it, called someone else, tried again etc. If we have to get general instead I think it will be pretty manageable (unlike the PFTS chaos).

Curious if they release more seats tomorrow (like a certain amount each day), maybe I will call again tomorrow and give it a shot.

Can you guys tell me the dates of the 3D dessert party? I can't seem to find it anywhere online. Is it only in October or do they have it in November as well??

This is our very first trip to Disney so we've never done the Epcot food and wine festival before and were hoping that we can get reservations for something on Thursday when it opens up!! Any suggestions besides the dessert party??

I was just checking all my bookings and saw that the Walt event is listed as F&W Heatly Living Dinner at 7:30. Is this what yours showed???

Laura

My Walt event (reserved seating) says in MDE....Scotland: Land of Food and Drink! Location, time and price are correct, though, and she read it back to me correctly. I think it will correct eventually in their system.;) .......... I hope!

I'm sure I booked Reserve seating for the PFTS because it was $200. GA would not have been that high with tax, and Wine View would have been more like $300.

My listing for the Walt event just says Epcot World ShowPlace. But the details say Healthy Living Dinner, was Walt into healthy living?

Curious if they release more seats tomorrow (like a certain amount each day), maybe I will call again tomorrow and give it a shot.

I don't think there will be anything else released until Thursday.

Can you guys tell me the dates of the 3D dessert party?

October 3, 10 and 17.
