2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival 9/19-11/10

They are not all gone. Today was a special limited prebooking for Chase Visa customers only. There are additional slots for all events which will go up for sale to the public on the 31st. Believe me, they did not totally sell out any event today. Try again on Thursday.

Man what a train wreck!

We love Sweet Sundays, which is now called Sunday Mornings with.... but three Disney reservation people could not find the events without a lot of searching.

The 29th was the first day to book. Called at 8 am on the 29th. After 30 minutes with each reservation person they told me that October 5th was sold out. They all checked other Sundays for me and said the same thing.

I just cannot believe that they are all gone prior to opening up to the public on the 31st.

Very disappointing and frustrating.

The Disney Visa pre-sale only included a limited number of seats for each event. There remaining seats should open on Thursday. You can call back on Thursday morning (phone lines open at 7:00 am eastern and some events will sell out in the first few hours) to see if the events you want have any availability.

Thanks for the responses.

As a Disney Visa, DVC and Annual Passholder I figured that I had an advantage but your explanations give me hope I will get it on the 31st.
I learned a lesson here, call at 7 am, which I will do on Thursday.

In my younger days I enjoyed the "challenge" of getting booked on the Breathless for Illuminations, etc. but going to special events at Disney is becoming exhausting.......

Does anyone know who the guest chef is for Sunday Mornings with....
on October 5th?

Thanks,

Doesn't mean these events are completely full. Just that the pre-sale slots are full. More availability will be released on Thursday.

Does anyone recall how long the culinary demos last? Wondering if we have time for a 3pm demo and 4:30 Hibachi Experience.

I don't know how people who don't use the blogs or other internet 3rd party Disney information sites actually plan a F&W vacation these days. It never used to sell out this quickly, but now, you have to know exactly what you want by 7am EST July 31 (or earlier), and the Disney website doesn't even have all the information up (no info on culinary demos, mixology, PftS, etc.)! How do they do it?! :sad2:

....I'm guessing about an hour or a little bit less, because then:
1) the Festival Center would be way too overcrowded to accommodate all three demonstrations, and,
2) you can't expect much more than that (1 hour) for the $15 fee

.....of course, I could be way off, but that was what I was figuring on....:confused3

...I hear ya! :thumbsup2

....well, the Disney, My Experience DOES work! After I got off the phone with the CM this morning, I logged on and it was there! Now, if only my Fastpass+ goes as smoothly.....

I never thought about this delay - I've always given my resort info and they've pulled it up very quickly. I called right at 9am on 7/24 to book 3 demos early and got all three. Called today right at 7am and got 3D sweet seats and Hibachi Experience. Both times looking up the resort just took a few seconds. Maybe I got lucky!

I also found it convenient that by giving my resort res# they had all my info - billing address, email, etc. seemed convenient.

It works very quickly if you have your resort reservation #. If we have to search the system for it, the call will take longer. Lately it's been taking up to 5 minutes to search. It has been reported to IT.

Too bad this isn't how Disney thinks, the PftS would only be $50! :rotfl2:

....that's what I did also...

So I have a question about how the reserved seating works at 3D Dessert Party and PftS.

I've been to the 3D Dessert Party before, but only with general admission. From what I understand, Sweet Seats means you're guaranteed a table (private?). For general admission, the advice I got was to arrive early and be as near to the front of the waiting area as possible to have the best chance of getting a table. So we got there about 45 minutes or so before the event and it went fine. For Sweet Seats, how early do folks normally arrive? Is there a benefit of arriving super early (i.e. being early in the queue)?

For PftS, I have reserved seating, which I gather means guaranteed seats at a table (shared with other guests). Again how early should one arrive? Do you need to arrive early to get a good table or are they pre-assigned?

For reserved seating for PftS, you will be seated alone with your party (even a party of 1)

With PftS at least, if you have reserved seating, there is really no need to get there before 7, or really, 7:15 when they start showing you to their seats. Just try to get there before 7:30 when the general admission stampede begins.

We were a party of two last year, so they showed us to a table for two. We ran into some friends of ours and asked the 'waiter' if they could move us to a 4 person. They did some sign switching and pixiedust: we were a table for 4.

So I got right through this morning... at exactly 7am.. there was no hold music just silence :confused3 I waited about 15 mins and then had to hang up because I had an appt to get to :furious: I have no idea if I was even in the que because there was no other messages or music :( Anyway of course when I called back NOTHING is available :worried: I know the public sales happen on Thursday, but the email for Chase cardholders said pre sale 29th and 30th... so does this mean a few more spots might open up tomorrow morning at 7am? or do I have to just try on Thursday?? I'm staying club level and called to have them book and the CM wasn't very helpful so I don't want to take the chance with them even though I let them book everything for F&W last year and I got everything I wanted.

So frustrating this morning....

Thank you

Sorry you had to hang up, but for future reference -- even with no music (no sound at all) you ARE in the queue! So if at all possible don't hang up! :thumbsup2

FWIW, after my 30 minutes of silence I got a great CM, booked my events and hung up happy at 7:35. :goodvibes Around 9:00am, I realized I had totally forgotten to book the F&W Pairing at Spice Road. I called 407-WDW-FEST and got through to a CM IMMEDIATELY!! (What a difference an hour can make! lol)

Congrats to you!

I really had no choice... I'm moving from NYC to Dallas Tx in September. Had to go do something this morning with the DH who just really doesn't understand how Disney NUTS I am.... maybe he does, but the plans he had this morning just couldn't wait... I will do the same thing on Thursday and I have already let it be known DO NOT ASK ME TO DO ANYTHING OR YOU WON'T BE HAVING TEQUILA OR HABACHI OR SUNDAY BRUNCH AND DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT A PARISIAN BREAKFAST!!! :)

I didn't call until 7:30 am and was on hold for about 40 minutes.

I was surprised I had no problem getting Robert Irvine Food for Thought...I thought for sure it would be gone. I am doing this one solo, so maybe that made it easier.

I also got the Food and Wine pairing at Restaurant Marrakesh. (I wanted to do Hibachi, but my friends wanted to do this one.)

I also booked a few deminars last week with the TIW window.

I've been to F&W every year for several years, last year was my first event, a deminar. This year I have 6 events! I wonder what will happen next year!

Oh, yes! I ALWAYS have my resort res# ready!!!
