:wave2: Hello fellow GF fans!

Has anyone rented a cabana at the beach pool? If so can I wait til the day of? I doubt they would be sold out in November and I'd like to wait and see how the weather is.

If the cabana is something that you really want then I would definitely reserve it :thumbsup2...we haave rented them many times..such a nice way to enjoy a pool day....The cancellation policy has always been 24 hours unless it has recently changed...Enjoy!

If it was me, I'd pick Boca Chica first choice for Lagoon View and Conch Key as my second choice - as I noted, with BPK your lagoon view can be of the Poly and since you are Poly people and doing a split stay there - why not look at something else?

Tom

I second those recommendations! :goodvibes

I popped over to GF to say hello to a fellow dis"er last November. ALL the cabanas were full that day.

Not sure tho about when to reserve. If there is a decent cancellation policy I would do it now.

It looked really nice too.

:wave2:

So we have two night complimentary stay coming up in May! It was for a standard room, which is totally fine! I had to change the dates and move it up by one day due to my husbands work schedule change. The amazing customer service rep and i were chatting and he was great, and just
Casually asked why we ended up with complimentary nights. I just explained our last trip was a little less magical and we didn't expect anything, but they gave that to us. Well, he shocked me by saying a bad experience shouldn't get a standard view and he was upgrading us. We now have theme park view!!!!!! I feel so lucky and grateful. Something we could never in a million years afford right now. I just wanted to share my absolutely great news! I can't wait for May!!!

Congratulations!!! Hope that your GF stay is absolutely wonderful :goodvibes...For a great TPV view I would recommend Conch Key..I know that Sago Cay also has them...but I think that Conch is more centrally located...close to the boat dock, pool and Narcoosees too!

@BlueSkies - less than 48 hours to go and I am all packed!
:rockband:

Well, my sneakers are near the suitcase!

Tom

:eek::faint::eek::faint: You are incorrigible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....lol.............
One more day though...doing tha happy dance for you!!!!!!!:dance3:

It looks like I will get a chance to stay at the Grand for the first time. My travel agent contacted me about my stay in February at the Beach Club and because of construction I was offered the Grand or the Poly at my discounted Beach Club price. I love the Poly but didn't want to turn down a chance to stay here.

What a nice alternative! GF is a lovely resort...so much to enjoy! :goodvibes

15 days!!!!!!!!!!! My only request was for a King bed :) We are in a GV room but soon after than we will be baaaackkkk at RPC. I keep checking availability at other resorts, but I can't change away from the Grand

Tom packing is overrated my friend.....

pas Woohoo!!! :woohoo::woohoo:almost into the single digits!!!!!!!!!!! And no change....yet....:rotfl:

Morning! We leave Sat for our first ever stay at GF & our first ever CL stay! Just need clarification. On the first page it says (for RPC) 6:30am coffee & espresso then it says 7am and lists all the breakfast offerings. My husband will be headed to TL for surfing & has to be there by 6:45am. Am I right to assume there won't really be anything available to him in the lounge at 6:15am?

I don't want him going surfing without having eaten something. Should I just get some breakfast items ahead & have them in our room for him?

We're so excited!! A week at GF RPC without the kiddos! 44.3 hours to go!!! ;)

Typically there are not any offerings or hot beverages out that early...But as pas suggested..you might be able to get a few things the day before to have handy for the morning..like yogurt...since Gasparillas will not be open..maybe the temporary location at Mizners will have early morning coffee available....

grannyminnie Hey!! :wave2:

Enjoy your child free GF stay....RPC is certainly a terrific introduction to staying CL...:cloud9:

We are a little over a month away from our next WDW trip!!! Cannot wait! :flower:happy GF gal who is starting to pack!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you hear that Tom and pas!!! :)

Tom

Thanks for the laugh and suggestion...

I think the girls might be packed.....DH and I will pack the morning of ;) :duck:

Any unusual things to look for at the GF? (Like to hidden Mickey at the entrence to POLY?

Heck, we're still six weeks away and our cases are all out! I'm starting my packing lists now ... As soon as I can find a pen!

Safe travels to all who are packed and ready for Grand stays!

Oh, and Blue that was great advice on all things GF. :goodvibes We certainly have our cabana day booked! Now all we need is a nice December day!

Actually finding Richard as the greeter is a treat. He is part of the whole gf experience.

Well our countdown to the GF is 1.
Tomorrow we fly to celebrate our 25th. wedding anniversary.
It has been 6 years since we were here last.
We have been cruising more and more, but wanted a fun land vacation.

Cannot wait.

Off to Cleveland today, fly tomorrow.

Byeeeeeeeeeee

Lyons Family - First, HAPPY 25TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!!! I hope you have many more. Second, Happy vacation at the Grand Floridian. I would be interested to hear if you have noticed any changes in the past 6 years since you have been there. It's been 3 years since we have been.

Safe travel, enjoy your vacation.

Has anyone see the Teddy Bear Lady (Lynn) lately? Just curious. Glad to hear that Richard is still at the entrance to the Grand. He's an icon!

Hi everyone! We just got back from spending 1 night at the GF. We were upgraded to the Royal Palm concierge in the main building, which was quite unexpected and GREATLY appreciated! We were given a 4th floor room, overlooking 7 Seas Lagoon and Cinderella's Castle, directly above Gasparilla's. It was breathtaking. This was my second time staying at the GF, and it was just as beautiful as I remembered from 2009.

Tom Hope you are having lots of food and wine fun..It certainly is all about the food..and drink too! :drinking1

Happy Anniversary LyonsFamily...:goodvibes..Did you plan any special celebration dining or activities at the resort...Hope you'll come back and tell us about your stay..

Trish I agree about meeting Richard...:thumbsup2...I would also suggest strolling around the lobby and taking in all of the character decor in the marble floors..and where they are located . ..

Mommy G Lynne was still there at our last visit a few months back..but she was up on the 2nd floor as opposed to the first...I'm thinking that with how extra busy 1900 PF always is these days..she has relocated there...lol..

Follow Never too early to pack right! You're trip is just around the bend! :goodvibes

Jenny Sanders What a fabumous upgrade!! :wizard: Congratulations . ..

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a super Saturday! :earsgirl:

We have been celebrating our 25th. all year.
Mini get aways, Chicago, New York, Canada and a summer caribean cruise

For this vacation at the GF was a bonus booking for us, never thought we could do it with the DD in college (yup paying tuition, apartment, car payment) (and no she is staying at college and we are childless for the first vacation in 21 years).

We booked Circe d sole, and a couple of our favorite restuarants, like Tonys and Crystal palace and cannot remember the one at the Yacht club.
And will do all the parks.

Now cannot wait till Sunday already have the mine ride and space mountain booked, we never could do that before.

And taking our costumes for the scary halloween party.

Was sad to hear the gasparillas was closed, and also renovation on Rock n Roll roller coaster.

Thanks for the well wishes and pray for our safe journey.

Take care.

Hello everyone, hope everyone is well!!

I come by quick and try to say all caught up with everyone, but life has been a little busy.

My family was planning to visit the Grand in early January but it has been changed to 3 nights versus 5 which stinks. My only alternative is late December and we would be there for New Years Eve. My question to the experts is.....how busy and how crazy is it then? Would I be better off at a quieter time for less days?

Thanks so much for all your help in advance.

Just checked in today! We're staying CL (RPC). We arrived via ME & were appeoached by name by a CM who took us up to RPC, gave us all the info, & escorted us right into our room! We were upgraded. We had just a regular 2 queen room & now have a king with balcony! I requested "4423", "4323" or "beach pool view". We're in 4429. We love our room! Our balcony is huge & wraps around the corner! ❤️ Will post pics later.

I'll answer an questions that I can.

Wow, I've read of TWO fabulous upgrades to lucky Dis-ers above! I always wish for pixie dust like that! pixiedust: Only happened to us once.

Re: Lynn, the Teddy Bear Lady, we learned last month (around the 6th of Sept) that she was in a rehab/assisted living situation, possibly temporarily. If she's back by now, perhaps someone will let us know.

On another note, DH and I are headed back to Calif. at the end of this week, and of course, yours truly HAS to go visit DL!! :yay: I'll be there for the opening day of the Christmas season, plus Dapper Day.
Looking forward to it.

(hi right back, Blue!)
