Our Disney vacation starts in 9 days!!! But it will be 15 days before checking into the Grand!!! (Staying at AoA and doing a Disney cruise prior to that) I cannot wait!!!

Woo-hoo! We did something very similar, but with the BC at the beginning, GF afterwards. It's hard to leave the ship... people look so sad... but it's much easier when you are headed to the Grand Floridian that day! :)

Hi guys!

Can you tell me the standard toiletries in the bathrooms (not club level)

thanks
Bath soap, facial soap, body wash, body lotion, - sea salt. Marine shampoo & conditioner. Sometimes I've gotten the blue solar relief gel, sometimes not. And you get nightly turn down service, with chocolate squares. They used to leave a card on pillow, but not sure if they still do? Our last stay was 8/2014. Last year we went to Poly.

Are you going before your Aug. stay, Sue?

Sounds great! Are you packed yet?

NO!! :scared1:

I am so behind the 8 ball right now!!! But the older girls activities have kept us so busy and then the little guy has been sick. Yesterday we discovered it's all due to a raging sinus and left ear infection. :faint:

I guess the good news is that we caught it and they gave him 14 days of antibiotics to cover a good portion of our trip too, so we should be good.

This weekend....this weekend, I shall pack...well, on Sunday....because ODD has her birthday sleepover on Saturday night.

Right?? That's why we had to bookend it with Disney stays. Excitement before and after!!! :cloud9:

Hope he's feeling better  and yay for single digit dance!!!!

We are headed to the GF for the first time and are booked in a "lagoon view outer building". I looked on touring plans and but I'm sort of confused because some of the lagoon view rooms seem to have views of MK while some seem to have views of the pool ? So do you have a recommendation for best views in this room category - is there a particular building to request?

Also - touring plans seems to say that all lagoon view rooms only have two queens and none are king beds? Is there any point to requesting a king bed? We have two kids, one of whom will be in a crib and the other will be in the day bed/Murphy bed, so I'm thinking that a king bed room, if it exists, would probably give us the most space?

We stayed GF for the first time last September & are hoping to stay again in November (although there seems to be no availability except TPV for our dates at this time--grr). We booked a Outer Building Lagoon View room & we had a Lagoon/MK view. I think TP has some incorrect views there because I don't think they can sell you a Lagoon View room & put you in a Pool view...but that's just my guess. We were in Boca Chica building & I liked it for the view & it's not like the resort is huge so while you're opposite the main building, you're still not that far away. We also had a King Bed & there was LOTS of space off to the side of the bed close to the balcony door. If both your kids are under 2, you may be able to request a King bed room.

Hope you have a great time! It's a beautiful resort!

Thanks, that's what I was hoping! I requested Boca Chica as well, and a K.

Nope! Just one trip this year. We usually go in January too, but couldn't get off work this year for January. Just as well, the Canadian $ is bad, today I just transferred $100 US to my USD acct and it cost me $130 Canadian. Ugh. So this trip is costing me a lot more.
We will be in Ft Lauderdale for 10 days before we make it up to Wdw.

I just got back and am already wishing I was going again!! What's wrong with this picture???? :confused3 :rotfl: Can yo

Either way, you have a lovely GF stay to look forward to! :goodvibes :thumbsup2 Even tho I'm just back, I am already dreaming of another trip!

Any updates about the new rug in the lobby of the GF?

Mousemommy1 - hope everyone is feeling better! Have a grand vacation.

grannyminnie - vacations always go by too quickly! Start dreaming again, and before you know it, you'll be back at the GF and Disney!

Know what you mean! I'm always in a Disney-planning mode, tho!

Am booked for my first time staying at Villas at the Grand Floridian and very excited. Just wondering where is closest place to get my refillable cup refilled?

The carpet: completed. Ate at Citricos Friday night (another incredible meal). The carpet appears to be the same style and color and design as the last, just new.

We stayed at the Poly this time, and it will be my last for a while. Won't get into all of the details, but I have noticed a decline in cleanliness there, along with other issues. But we still managed to have a very good vacation.

I did do some damage at Summer Lace! And other stores as well (Basin, M. Mouse Mercantile). Here are some cell phone photos of what I bought. Prices are listed for those who are interested (ouch!)...$98 navy sweater, $68 floral shirt, $19 each for eyeglass cases, Mary Poppins shirt approx $32, can't remember. The sweater and shirt are both Tommy Bahama. They match a previous T. Bahama sun dress that I purchased a few years back.eyeglass cases.JPG eyeglass case blue.JPG eyeglass case green.JPG shirt floral.JPG sweater navy.JPG shirt mary poppins.JPG
