Hi, everyone.

I was so touched by this video that I had to post it here, knowing that you GF fans would be touched as well.

The video is of a young man, Tommy, who has autism, and Wes, the pianist at the Grand. Tommy is about 22 years old, and also a marathon runner (finished 9th out of 12,000 in one of the marathons at Disney...wow).

It will bring tears to your eyes. This is the Disney magic that we all know and love. I had tears in my eyes, happy tears. And how sweet and precious of the young lady who dances with this young man (she might be a special ed teacher or something along those lines, as she was quite understanding).

These are the cast members and the moments that make our Disney stays so memorable and precious in our hearts.

Ahhh - that is sweet!!!

Are there any photos of views from various room categories? Trying to find some of the Main Building/Theme Park View.

TIA!

I was there in November in SL and I didn't have a view so I can't help - sorry. Although I did love my room. I had several specific requests that I cared about more than the view. I know there are some in this thread though. I know it's 248 pages but if you go to the "search" box in the top right you can use some search terms and click "search this thread only" and probably find the posts with pictures. Try searching pictures, theme park view and then pictures main building?

I'm happy to help if you have any other questions!

YAY!!!!!!!!!! So close!!!!!

Page 2 rescue now...........me thinks all our Grand groupies are getting ready to travel OR still recovering from the holidays :grouphug:

Recovering from the holidays!! It's been non-stop since we took our trip to WDW the week before Thanksgiving. We had our trip, then company for Thanksgiving, then a trip to visit family before the holidays, then we went to 2 cities and visited 3 families during the holiday season. Whew!!

Have you tried the room view photos up on touring plans? We had one of those rooms and you can clearly see the castle from the balconies over the marina.

hi, everyone! ds14 and I just returned this week from a great vacation at BLT! it was our first time there and we loved it! i had originally hoped to book SL but the discounts were just not what i was hoping for, so we ended up theme park view at BLT for about $200 a night. i am so glad we chose that! it's my second favorite resort now! i thought i would really miss CL but i also enjoyed the flexibility of having the kitchenette for breakfast and snacks and being able to eat what we wanted, when we wanted, as opposed to timing my day around the lounge offerings (which i am normally guilty of doing!). i know BLT has come up a few times on this thread and as a true GF lover, i would recommend it to anyone one the fence about it. the walk to the MK was amazing, and the hotel was the quietest i've ever stayed in with a boutique feel to it and great views everywhere. i felt that we got an amazing value for what we paid.

with ds being in a "adults are so mean and all they do is try to restrict my freedom" type of phase lately, this trip was just what we needed. we had a fantastic time just the two of us. we got a lot done and made great memories. we had another fantastic dinner at V&A, and isreal even made a nonalcoholic drink pairing for ds since i had the wine pairing. i was able to squeeze in a very brief visit to mizner's after dinner, and ds and i spent some time shopping and sitting in the lobby listening to music. it was our last night there and a great way to end our trip.

i think this will be our last disney trip for a while, as we make room for some other destinations, so this trip was extra special for me.

hope that everyone is doing great and that your holidays were fabulous!

Sounds like you made some great memories with your son!! Glad you had such a great trip! :)

I love it! I love it as a GF lover, and an autism mom :)

That is wonderful! So happy you and your DS had a great trip. My DS14 (soon to be 15) is eagerly awaiting our Grand summer trip :) BLT does seem wonderful!

We just got a great deal on a Lagoon view standard room in April!! It will be our first time at GF. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations as far as room requests with OCI? It's me and DH, our 4 year old and a baby, so ideally we would probably do best with a King + daybed configuration, and a crib or pack and play for the baby. Are there particular room locations that would trump that? Are there day beds in the 2Q rooms too? Thanks in advance!

If you would really like a king with a day bed, I would make that your only request.

Some, yes.

Thanks, we'd prefer a king but can do two queens too, since our baby can sleep with us or sleep in a crib. And since we CAN do either but have a preference for King, I was wondering if there's a particular location or anything else to request (like rooms that might also have a TP view) that may be worth having 2Q

I'm pretty sure only the Theme Park View Rooms, with the heavy price tag, will have a TP view.

Oh ok - I thought I'd read somewhere in this forum that some of the lagoon views have a partial/offset TP view - that's what I meant. (Apparently this is the case with BLT - the quality of the "lake view" can vary widely.)

Hello GF friends! No trip planned for the GF this summer. However, if I win Power Ball tonight, there will be a definite trip planned. Otherwise, I will just keep remembering all the "Grand" memories of Disney!

Have a good day!

:rotfl:If I win tonight, I'm definitely planning a trip and will pay for all my friends on this thread to join me for one big meet-up!!! Drinks on me!

Hello,

Well last minute switch from AKL to the GF for Monday! We aren't booked in CL as this is a 'budget' trip ( at least that was the theory, LOL).... And I was wondering, do the regular TPV rooms also have the Sea Salt marine shampoo? I love that stuff!

Thanks!

Hi GF friends. Not even 1 number on Power Ball ticket last night. Translation, no vacation at all this year. Priced out a trip to Disney for us yesterday in hopes that I would win; over $10,000! Yikes. Not in my future.

For all who are at the GF and have vacation planned, I wish you the best!
