Hi, Grand groupies! I'm back from Jackson Hole (last night), unpacking, washing clothes and packing for Florida tomorrow! :bounce:  (not dancing around because of packing but because I'm going to Disney!!! :goodvibes I'm leaving in the morning early, driving to meet my sister and then we will drive on down to Fla.

Bethclayton, for $200, I'd definitely be happy with BLT! We have never decided to stay at the Contemp, but I'd change my mind fast at that price!! :thumbsup2 How neat to have that mother/son bonding and memory-making time with your 14 yr old!

Dispro, sorry you had to cancel your Feb. trip. We all feel your pain on here! Good thing is, you have another one in sight that will get here faster than you think! :woohoo:
Safe travels!

I hope you have a fantastic Disney trip!! You should be dancing since you are packing for Disney! It's the unpacking after you return from Disney that's no fun! Canceling any Disney trip is painful, isn't it, but canceling GF hurts even more:( But sometimes we get busy with "real" life (like Pas said)! The good news is that when we are busy, time flies:) I think my DD12's schedule will keep me so busy that my next trip will be here in a flash! She's got volleyball tournaments most weekends from now through mid April! I was at yesterday's tournament for 7 hours, but at least it was only yesterday...so what did I do today?? Called to add another day to my summer trip -LOL:) At least I'm not the only one with a GF addiction, however, because DH is actually the one who made the call! We even passed up a great "magical" deal at the Poly because we HAD to have GF!! So....would everyone on this thread PLEASE post pics if you have a trip between now and Memorial Day weekend! Also, if anyone else will be there that week (May 29-June 4) let me know because a DIS meet would be fun:)
Sorry you had to cancel, I'm sad I'm missing my January trip, life sure does get in the way. But at least we have another trip to look forward to!! And yay for you adding a day!

When are you there?

March 23-28 at RPC. I booked POR for our first 3 nights, and we haven't stayed non-CL in a long time so it will be very interesting for sure! It's Easter week, and RPC during Easter week is priced way too high...thus the first 3 nights at POR makes the total trip cost more in our range. Looking so forward to being at RPC on Easter morning! The last 2 or 3 years, we've been at BC for Easter, so this will be a new experience for us.

Oh nice!!! I thought you might be there around the same time as us, but we are end of April. We are staying in a value for the first time in a LONG time, in an AoA Nemo suite for 2 nights, then 4 nights on the Dream (also a new experience) and then 2 nights GF!!! GF is also new to us and I wish I could bite the bullet and book CL, but it's so much money!!! Lol

Does anyone know what the height limit is off the top of their heads for the Alice in Wonderland splash area? I know our 1 year old would love it, but I am hoping that at least our tiny 9 year old will be able to play with him in there. She is right at 48 inches tall.

I'm guessing our 11 year old would be banned...she is 5'1"...:sad1:

The height limit is only for the slide. Anyone is welcomed to play in the splash area. Your 11-year-old will certainly be able to play with her siblings she just can't go down the slide.

If that's the case, that is awesome!! She would be bummed to not be able to play with them. :(

I hope it's OK to ask this here....
Traveling this week and staying at GFV. Weather for our MK day looks awful (just gonna bring some ponchos and have fun anyway). The evening is suppose to be very windy. Does the boat and monorail still run in bad weather? What is the best way for us to get back to the resort in case of the bad weather? Planning to take a midday break and then head back in the evening.

You should have no problem with the boats...I was down there when Hurricane Sandy came through and the boats were all running. I believe they have shut down the monorail at times due to weather - most often because of power issues.

:flower:Hello fellow GF fans....It been a bit...truly hate it when life gets int he way of one of my favorite pass times....which is hanging around here! lol....

Lisann Thank you for sharing that video...very heartwarming...

Sue Sorry about the January trip....Planning another always makes things better....:thumbsup2

Hi All. Maybe I have missed something, but where is k's&a&c'smom? I haven't "seen" her in a long time!

Hey MommyG :goodvibes I've been wondering the same...Last we were in touch..life was just keeping her super busy...I'll get in touch with her this weel some time...

Quick question. I booked a Lagoon view for my Honeymoon in mid December and I was wondering if they provide any views of the castle or are any views of the castle considered TPV? I'm a little fuzzy because I thought I had heard you can get a lagoon view with a side view of the castle. TIA!

Yes..there are a few rooms..I beleive in Boca Chica and Big Pine Key that are LV..but have a side view which includes the castle...I had posted a pic a while back...friends stayed in Boca Chica in a king LV room and it did have a view of the castle ..Let me look around for it...and I'll try to repost the view and room number...What a lovely place to spend your honeymoon....:wizard:

It's official! Booked August trip!
Poly, BC, and our beloved GF!!!!
Soooo EXCITED!!!:dance3:

What a trifecta!!!! Congrats!!! :woohoo:

I am definitely not an expert on GF (our first stay there is in a couple months!), but before booking my trip I spent hours/days searching and looking for pictures of various room views. In some of my research, I remember seeing pictures of lagoon view rooms with obstructed view of Castle and/or Wishes (thus LV category). Hopefully someone on here who has stayed LV in the past will chime in for you! We are booked in RPC for our very first GF stay and we're so excited! But the view is the one thing that I'm still not overly clear on....in fact, I still need to make my room requests and keep putting it off. Your post has prompted me to finish up my loose ends :)

Geet going with those requests TJA !! Your trip will be here before you know it! :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing this! I loved it, and I never would have seen it if you hadn't posted it! Wes is awesome, and the Grand is SO special! There is nothing like it!

On a side note, I'm sorry to say that my annual February trip (without kids) was cancelled today (still need to change my ticker) because my 12 year old has a volleyball tournament that weekend AND my husband's family decided to have a family reunion that weekend too! I'm really sad that I will miss out on getting to see Blueskies and Maxie again, but I'm REALLY happy to say that I got an awesome AP discount for early June...only, the kids will be with us. But my life has been so bizarre lately (not in a good way) that I am probably more excited about this trip than ever! So, 2016 is off to a great start for me, and I hope you all find the same to be true for you!

Sorry that you had to cancel your trip my friend :( ...we were looking forward to seeing you and your DH....But....on a happy note...you did get to rebook!!! :dance3:..with an awesome discount!!! June in the world opens up the door for lots of fun resort activities..like pool time...I'm sure it will be grand!

Ask away..thats what we are all here for! :goodvibes In our experience the boats...as Tom indicated seem to run most of the time even in inclement weather...but I have heard that there are times when they do not....I would think wind would be more of a factor for this than rain...You certainly have the right attitude...:thumbsup2 and you will have fun...rain or no rain...Its Disneyworld after all!

mousemommy We have never seen bigger kids turned away at the splash pad either...I think that your DD will be fine ....IF..you end up at the GF....lol...know that you and our friend pas have a tendency to change resorts....:rolleyes1 Although she says that she is staying put at the GF...

pas My fellow "grand groupie"....still staying put huh??? lol....I am sure that if you do...you are going to have another Grand vacation! :goodvibes

Tom We are both not to far from single digits....:dance3:Well maybe a little far...I might be trying to rush it a bit...lol....

Beth So happy to hear that you and your DS had such a great stay at BLT...there really is something so nice about staying at the monorail resorts...and thanks for the lovely PM...:goodvibes too....

~ I have a friend who was at the world recently ..and had a very lovely and fun lunch at Skippers Cantina....and said she would def recommend it as a nice place to dine....:thumbsup2 Its always about the food ..isnt it!

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a magical Monday....:earsgirl: preppy GF gal who is happy to have another ticker!

Does anybody know if the deluxe garden view rooms on the 5th floors have balconies? I was trying to figure out from pictures, and I think that the balcony belongs to the 2 bedroom suite next door, but I'm not sure.

Don't know, but our deluxe GV on 3rd floor RPC had a balcony.

The deluxe turret room on the top floor in Sugarloaf does NOT have a balcony. It is my understanding that all the top floor turret deluxe rooms do not have them.

That was my suspicion. Do you think it's best to call in a request a balcony or not fifth floor, or when I check in online, choose lower floor?

I would call and request the balcony. If you have a building request you will have to decide which is most important and list it first.

I asked yesterday about the boats running in bad weather. Thanks for the responses ;) my dd8 is apprehensive about the weather and traveling on the boat. Does anyone know if there is bus transportation that is offered between MK and GF. Thanks ;)

Oh man!!! My reputation follows me!! :rotfl2:

We are sticking with it!!! The only thing that might change is that I might add Sugarloaf, but GF it is and I'm looking forward to it!!

Thanks for the info on the splash pad as well. :goodvibes:thumbsup2

Boat or Monorail.

oooooh I wish I were staying RPC! Unfortunately, it's just an outer building Deluxe room that I can afford. :guilty:
We're staying in an outer building this August. They're very nice. Love Boca & Big Pine. With the Canadian $ so bad this year any thoughts of RPC or Sugar Loaf are dashed!

Sorry been MIA!!!

I tried to read up tho!

We loved AoA!!:cool1:

We took the boat from MK to GF and visited Summer Lace and showed the girls the beautiful lobby and grounds.:goodvibes

I spent some time with @Circusgirl(Oh it was great to see you two years in a row too!) over the trip and she told me I missed some great GF merch in the 2nd floor store. I checked my shop disney app this morning and many gf items are there, woo hoo!!!!

Iphone cases and pillow look like great GF items to splurge on:cloud9:

Happy Planning you lucky people.

I would suggest PMing me if have any questions in the upcoming months. I have DISNEYLAND nextparty: and then nothing:faint:.
