Thanks for the link to your pics of the refurbed deluxe room in SL...looks great!

Babsy Congrats on the SL booking. .:goodvibes...u won't be sorry that you chose it for many of the reasons that you mentioned..its central location...and I feel the cozy feel of the smaller lounge situated in the lobby of the building. ..I happen to be a fan of both CLs...unlike many who really prefer RPC...The ambiance of that lounge not withstanding. ..SL has all if the same amenities! And...its at a considerably lower room rate...a great choice IMO...:thumbsup2

Hope that everyone is having a super Saturday...:mickeybarpreppy GF gal who is trying not to eat all of my Valentine chocolate in one day...lol....

Two questions...

Sago key or big pine key for someone who wants to be as close as possible to transportation and QS and shops?

And.. Does anyone know where I'd be able to find images of each separate building?

Tia!

Big Pine Key is really central. Sago key is a little more out of the way. Nothing is really very far away though.

The first page of this thread is very comprehensive. ..and can give u a very good idea about which outer building will best suit your needs. ...There are even photos of a walking tour of the grounds...which will give you a great visual of where things are located.. :thumbsup2

As Babsy posted ..the grounds are pretty compact and its not really a long distance from any one place to the other ..but based on what you are looking for I would say the Sago Cay would be the best request...I personally think that this particular building feels a little more removed from the rest of the grounds..but is very close to the GF QS ..Gasparilla Island Grille..and also closest to the bus stop...and many of the rooms have a lovely marina view....Hth some ...:goodvibes and enjoy your stay!

~ Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a wonderful weekend. ..:cold:...frozen GF gal who would like to move to the Sunshine state!

We had two to three feet of snow and ice dams removed from our roof yesterday and we have to do it again after today's blizzard.

I hope I can keep the snow of my roof for our March trip to VGF.

I want to be there now but we have to take care of our house.

Must have been a "cold" 75 degree day in that pool picture. Not many people in the pool and the lifeguards are wearing pants, long sleeve shirts and jackets. LOL... Sure beats the -5 degrees we woke up to this morning.

Candy :cloud9: What a perfect photo to be looking at on a dreadfully cold day ....Thanks for sharing it!!! :flower3:

goofy4prez I see from your signature that instead of a CL stay that you are giving the VGF a try...I would be very interested in hearing about your stay and the comparison of a villa vs CL....

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a magical Monday! :earsgirl: frozen GF gal ...who is hoping that spring will hurry up and arrive...:flower:

All booked for Sept. 12-19....first time at GF....25th Anniversary....first Empty Nesters trip....Lots and Lots of firsts :dance3:
We are booked for those exact dates as well! Except I will have my hubby, sister in law, mother in law, and our 5 year old twins with me. So excited but a little worried, hoping we get our room request for a connecting door, so when kids go to bed we be right next door.

Hello Grand Floridian fans!!!

We are long time Beach Club stayers...however...we fell head over heels in love with GF on a recently meal/walk through. After watching youtube videos with my young daughters today, we are completely sold and planning our november vacation there!!! We are saving all our pennies to get there, but we know it'll be worth the price difference from BC! We will be joining you Nov 13-21/22...Tell me what the must see/must do activities are!! We are taking a whole day off to enjoy the beautiful resort!

My husband and i will also be celebrating our 10th anniversary, and this trip is dubbed our Familymoon! We never got a honeymoon (married young), and can't imagine wanting a 10th trip without our little family :)

Anybody have experience with amount of noise made by ferry boat horns while staying in Conch Key?

I do, I do! It's a sound we love and look forward to. How loud would be too loud for you? With the sliding doors closed, it's still audible, but not disturbing.

:sunny:
Just wanted to know whether to pack a fan or request a box fan to drown out noise for when my kiddos nap mid to late afternoon.

Ok, if you leave those doors closed, the sound really shouldn't disturb a nap or keep them from falling asleep. The doors muffle the sound nicely.

Ok so I have a question. I did my online check in option last week and I selected 2 things (big pine key & have the room ready for when we get there). Then I decided that it was much more important to have the room ready for early check in then the building (I figured let fate take over which building we should be in). Anyways when I went back in to Modify my check in it wouldn't let me take off big pine key. So I tryed to select something else figuring it might cancel out my current choices and then let me remove them and reselect just the 1 option of having our room ready for check in. Anyways now I have 4 options selected instead of the normal 2 and they are all showing up. Is that going to effect my check in? I know you are normally only allowed to select 2 so I just want to make sure its not going to effect my room choice or something. Anyone else have experience with this or know how to fix it or should I just leave it alone? TIA!!!

It should be a Great time to go!!! I bet between your SIL and MIL, a nice date night or two will be in the plans??? I am SO LOST on our room request. Trying to research as much as possible before online check-in LOLOLOL!!!
