(2014-2020) Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT & SPA + VILLAS Information & Questions

Wasn't thinking about those, no idea. Poster just asked about regular rooms and those have been done.
I remember a good while back hearing from a GF CM that those suites were last on the list. (and maybe other posters on here mentioned it as well) Part of me wanted those to stay the same, because IF I get lucky enough to be pixie-dusted with a stay in one of them, I'd like them to retain the same style as what I saw when I was shown them by a very nice CM.

Even the suites? Have they been done too? (I'm referring to those like the Walt and Roy suite)

Yes, all the suites were done after the resort. They had really grand plans that did not come to fruition, part of the cut backs I assume. Right before the cut backs there was a lot of activity, hiring an outside consult for what luxury guests wanted. They mad rec's for the lounge etc. So, they added the carving station and that lasted a couple of months at most before someone decided it was too expensive

Yes, they were done awhile after the rest of the resort. We stayed in the 2br on the 5th floor in RPC and CM's indicated all the suites were finished. However, I did not stay in Walt or Roy so it is just my info from the CM's.

Attention Imagineers: Construct a pedestrian bridge over the canal that serves as a channel for the Electrical Water Pageant floats. The bridge would connect the GFR property to the long walkway that extends from the MK's launch site, providing some guests with the opportunity to walk to the GFR from the MK (and back) instead of taking Disney transportation at "rush hour" or any other time. Guests at the CR have that opportunity...why not the GFR?

All the best! :thumbsup2

To them it is working. Between reducing service, lower quality wine/drinks, cutting out self service of alcohol and eliminating certain foods outright(no more celery in either lounge spotty use of breads in RPC nothing but lavash in SL) the savings add up and make the bottom line look much better.

And you have just stated exactly the practices of WDW over the past few years. Cut back on services and offerings to the guests and continue to increase the costs even more to those same guests and hope that the people (AKA minions) will continue to sniff the pixie dust and spend more for less.

We eliminated a June stay because of the aforementioned issues...plus management's toleration of the barefoot/bathrobe crowd at daily food offerings.

All the best. :thumbsup2

We are not returning in June as well. I would still stay garden view but I can no longer justify the expense of CL at any WDW resort.

I have been in several restaurants at the parks where children have been barefoot. Standing on the floor of the restaurant without shoes. Its ridiculous. And what wrong with parents!

That would be nice, but it would have to be a draw bridge or swing bridge so the barges of the Electric Water Parade could get in and out of the canal. That's where they're parked. Which means it would have to be manned to operate the bridge, stop pedestrians on both sides from crossing, etc. Can't see it happening.

That would be some pixie dust::yes:: pixiedust:

Need some advice,
This will be our first GF stay and will be checking in with some breakfast food and perishables for my daughter. Will they refrigerate and hold our groceries for us if we visit the park before our room is ready?

DH just decided he wants to go to WDW May 30-June 4 since our youngest is going on another trip with friends! Just booked our first Grand club level stay in Sugar Loaf. We are celebrating 25 since his cancer diagnosis.
