Viewer Alert!!!

Live with Kelly and Michael show (ABC) is at Disneyland today. Watching right now.

:goodvibes:

I watched the AFV last night at Disneyland. I have been dying to go there ever since Saving Mr. Banks. I'm like obsessed. I told DH over and over last night how much I NEEDED to go there!!! Wish I were at home now to watch it!!
:offtopic: Shut out of ADRs @ Epcot!!

Well today was a day I've been waiting for. It was my first 180 "sign in at 6:00 a.m. and book ADRs" day. I had a list of 10 restaurants (including backups) and got my first three.

Then it all went south...For the week prior to Thanksgiving, I cannot get anything at Yak & Yeti on our available park days.

But what is really annoying me is the total lack of availability for lunch or dinner (at any time) for anything in Epcot other than Coral Reef, Le Cellier, or Akershus.

I'm a planner so I am panicking. DH is like "relax - we can do counter service". All I can see in my head is Kevin Bacon saying "remain calm - all is well!"

Is this the way it usually is and I will have to periodically check availability?

Please help this ADR rookie down off the planning ledge....

Never Fear!!! the site seems to be a little crazy lately. One day, nothing is avail. the next day every place I'm looking for is. Keep checking, I promise you it will open up!!!

There is supposedly an ADR cancellation thread on the DIS where people that are canceling a reservation can try to coordinate the timing with another DISer that wants the ressie. I haven't tried it yet, but others have said it works sometimes?? If not, I have been able to get reservations I want (most of the time) by stalking the site:) I hope you get what you want!

Thanks ocalla, Dispro1, and jlundeen! I will try to find some patience and periodically check availability as time progresses (and not worry about it).

Thanks for the reply regarding the GV rooms the other day.

From the sounds of it there may not be any that will take a daybed or rollaway. We won't be CL and I'm worried that these rooms may be smaller if they won't take a rollaway or have daybed.

I might just book the SV again and request Epcot end. BC were great on our last trip in changing our room due to a funny smell! But I don't want to take the chance of booking GV and not being able to get the other bed in and there not being any other rooms. Aaaargh I don't know what to do. Or I book YC as the website on Disney UK says the GV sleeps 5. Is the YC further away from the pool?

Thanks again.

I don't think I have welcomed you here to this thread yet, so

:welcome:

Do you have an upcoming trip to the Yacht/Beach or BCV resort

:)

:welcome: back!!!

I'm always happy to add you to the Be Our Guest list!

:goodvibes:

I have stayed club level for most of my trips, so I usually don't go to a sit-down breakfast, but we always try to make time for breakfast at Kona Café!!!

The only time I have had breakfast at Captain's Grille was last August during the DIS meet trip.

Here's my review along with a couple of other one of the breakfast there.

Here is a link to a few pictures from the daily breakfast buffet provided by TaraPA: Breakfast Buffet pictures

I missed giving you good wishes for your sendoff, but I hope you are having a fantastic time and sending you positive thoughts for your surgery when you return.

If you go to the Activities Post (Post 4) on Page 1 of this thread, there is a link to the activities schedules from past years. You should be able to find Nov 2014. Let me know if you don't see it.

:)

I didn't see you on the Be Our Guest list, so I will add you.

:welcome:

Hello - :) We are planning to stay there next year right before our cruise(April 9, 2016). I was thinking Port Orleans, but we are looking to switching to Beach club resort.

Hi all! We are counting down to our first BC CL stay! I was looking over maps of the resort and I'm trying to figure out exactly where all of the Garden View rooms are located. Are those in the front of the resort that look towards the front entrance? Are there any that look over the back entrance? I looked at room views and it looks to me like there are only 8 or so Garden View rooms - that can't be right! I must be missing something! Can you help me out?

Thanks!

Actually, the opposite is true. Many of the BC CL rooms are on the fifth floor and have dormer balconies, which makes them a little smaller than a regular resort room and therefore can't fit a daybed. There are plenty of regular BC GV rooms that are large enough for a daybed. :) I hope that helps.

Hi -

I'm sure this has been asked before so sorry in advance for a repeat question but...is there an advantage to on-line check-in? We are arriving very late the evening of May 27 - we probably won't get there until midnight or later. We are staying Club level. Should I do on-line check in or will we be all set because we're Club level? I'm hoping to make the process as quick as possible to get the kids to bed.

Thanks!

Transportation question, and I completely understand that it can very greatly depending on the day/time of year etc.

What have people's experiences been taking the bus to Typhoon Lagoon in the morning from BC? Anyone gone in the early afternoon (again from BC)? Or later from Epcot (as I understand it departs from there after 2pm)? How about the return trip at TL close (5 or 6pm), is it still one bus back to Epcot? What times have you experienced?

Secondary question: For a fast, fit walker aprox. how long does it take to cross from BC (IG entrance) to the front of EP?
Thanks in advance.

How late? Before or after 10 pm?

I think the CL CMs are only at the desks until 10 pm (someone correct me if I'm wrong), so if you think your arrival will be later than that, then online may be the way to go.

Yes, that is correct, only about 8 BC CL GV rooms.

I know at least some (maybe all) look out onto the back entrance (lakeside) courtyard, from either side.

thanks for your response. I think we'll be getting in close to midnight so I'm going to go ahead and do on-line check in. Only 9 more days - YAY!

Yes this helps a lot thank you. It's only about £50 more for the GV so we might go for it.

Do you know if rooms facing Epcot near the secret entrance class as GV? No big deal if we don't get that area. What would a GV area view be? Is overlooking the back or could we be over the front entrance?

Thanks again.

Hi everyone,

We are staying in a garden view room in July and would ideally want a refurbished room as close to Epcot as possible. The floor doesn't matter to us.

What should my room request be please?

Many thanks in advance

Thank you! After looking at the maps that's what it looked like! At least I know where we should be when we check in!

natebenma,

We are currently booked at BCV for mid September, but I was hoping someone at BC who is there later in the day (like 10:00-11:00 after construction starts for the day) could tell me about the noise level since I know BCV will be under refurb during our stay (got the letter in the mail from WDW about it). I am sensitive to noise while sleeping and even though we bring a white noise machine with us, I am not sure that would drown out construction noise!

BUT, I am not sure at this point that it will matter because we are considering switching to CR TPV - we have done BC/YC for the last four years and think we are ready to try something new - we especially think we might like being closer to a whole new set of restaurants in the MK area at GF, Poly, WL. FW, and of course at CR - we have never been to 'Ohana, Kona, 1900PF, GF Cafe, Trail's End (ok, I was there in 2005 with my mom, but DH has never been), and possibly Artist's Point. Has anyone on this thread stayed at CR and care to share your opinion with me? The bathrooms there look bigger than YC/BC, but that could be an optical illusion in the photos. On the one hand, I know we love walking to Epcot and DHS and having the use of SAB, but on the other I feel like we would have a completely different experience staying at a MK area resort.

Currently, we are a 17 hour drive from the House of the Mouse so we do one long trip a year, so it is not like I can try a different resort every other month! So I am doing a ton of research and trying to figure out if we should make the switch.
