2013 Free Dining Watch

So do the bouncebacks typically coincide with free dining promo dates they offer ?

Not really. Those staying on property during late summerthrough late fall often get offered a bounceback for free dining for the following year's mid August to mid to late Sept, but the public offer typically starts later in August and first goes through Sept/first few days of October. Then the GP offer is usually extended to include select dates in October, November and December. There are lots of blackout dates for the Oct-Dec period.

The room only bounceback (offered near the end of the year throughout the next year's early summer) typically covers most of the year, but there are tons of blackouts. Public offers come out for shorter periods at a time, and the blackout dates are not always the same as the blackout dates of the bounceback. Bouncebacks also typically have a higher % off than the GP deals.

Bouncebacks are basically just their own type of deals, and don't really indicate what the GP will be given.

Ok...wow. That is a whole other beast! Fingers crossed that FD is extended to 10/2 or later for our family. Thanks for all your tips! :)

Not really, it all depends on the year.

August 21 – October 4, 2005
August 13 – September 30, 2006
August 26 – September 22, 2007
August 30 – September 27, 2008
August 16 – October 3, 2009
August 15 – October 2, 2010
August 28 - September 24, 2011

So, as you can see, its random, sort of. Not always late Aug, but a mix of late and mid.

so only the Deluxe Resorts are getting the Free Dining if I am reading the flyer correctly?

No, that was a copy of a Bounceback promo flyer that was in resort rooms last year. If you look at the fine print on the flyer, it says to call for information about discounts and availability at other resorts. Under that Bounceback offer, if you called before you checked out, you could book at all levels of resorts. The Quick Service plan was included for value resorts, regular DDP for mods and deluxe resorts. The Little Mermaid rooms at AOA were excluded under that free dining Bounceback promo.

Here's .
hoping the predictions for April 25th are correct :wizard::wizard:

15 hours to go!!!!!!!:banana::banana:

Unfortunately, it's doubtful at this point. If they were releasing tomorrow the info probably would have leaked by now. I guess the May 16 release date is back on the table. There may be a small chance they could wait to release until June 14, but if they did that I would think they would release FD dates beyond September.

Back to the waiting game . . .

I'm with ya on that! And I know it's probably just me, but I would be surprised, but not shocked it they waited till June.
I was thinking promos are being released somewhat late this year because of new Fantasyland. Do any of you historical info trackers have the correlating dates between a new attraction opening and the release dates of promos??

Thanks for posting the date info, but I didn't say it necessarily started in late August. I said the GP FD offers typically (not always) start later in August than the FD bounceback offers do. :goodvibes

So to all of the DisExperts out there... I am a numbers person and looking for some odds:) I know that you are all just giving it your best guess based on history so I am not holding you to it just wondering what your experience is giving you in terms of a gut feeling!

1. What are the odds of Free Dining being offered at all for late August to early September? 80/20, 50/50..?

2. What date do you believe is most realistic to release it? May 10th or the June 14th?

My best guesses are

1. I am 100% certain that September (and possibly late August) will have a very deep discount of some sort. Hopefully free dining, but it will have to be something pretty good because it is hurricane season and kids are in school.

2. I really think it will be released mid-May, but if they wait until mid-June, I could see them releasing the next promo in conjunction with the annual ticket increase.

If they do it in June, I hope they release discounts for the rest of the calendar year, too, but that is because my trip is in October, and I just don't want to wait until July or August for my discount. :rotfl2:

I think mid-May is a more firm bet as well. June doesn't give much time outside the 45 day window to pay for the trip in full. Things start to get tight in a hurry.

This year's hurricane forecast is extremely bad. I monitor hurricane forecasts as disaster event management is one of my hats I wear at work (sadly, I don't get to wear mouse ears while working...:earsboy:). I would only imagine that a bad hurricane forecast would negatively effect DW bookings more than usual and that Disney would need to increase discounts/FD to entice more people. Of course, Disney logic may not match my logic...

While I really hope you are right on the discounts being large this year I hope we don't get a hurricane Sept 7-15!! Your non mouse ear hat doesn't happen to look out that far does it!? As We get closer to the trip I really hope you use your other hat to keep us informed!! Having a DisWeather forecaster would be AWESOME!!:cheer2:

I've been there during a hurricane before. Most of them hit at night and the weather the next day is perfect. I also drive down so I can adjust my schedule so I'm not driving through one.

You're traveling the same week as me (9/8-9/14) so we're in the same boat (only I hope we don't need a boat!). As we get closer and if I see something that might impact central Florida I'll pass along - but likely everyone on the board will already be hearing about it through weather channel or other source since we'll all be looking for travel weather anyway. As of right now I predict lots of sun and low 80's for that week. It's got as good a chance of being right as any other forecast, but this forecast sounds particularly nice. Cheers!

Let's just hope that there are no major hurricanes at all this year that make it to land!
