2013 brag about it thread

Wow guys, congratulations on seeing your hard work pay off! :thumbsup2

In 2013 I went from barely being able to run 1 minute to being able to run 8.6 miles without stopping. Prior to the injury, I was averaging 20 miles/week.
disneymom1980, good for you!

In November I had gone through the 6 weeks at goal and am now considered a Lifetime WW member (4th time through WW, 1st time hitting goal let alone making Lifetime!). Over that period of time I lost 85 pounds.
bumbershoot - your whole post is very impressive, but YAY on that Lifetime membership and the 85 lbs! :cool1:

emily, kappy and firedancer - WOW on all your half marathons. I aspire to be you guys in the next year or two. :cheer2: Firedancer - you're hoping for a sub 3hr marathon, I'm shooting for a sub 3hr half! It's great how we're each at our own place in our journey :-)

I was in dire need of losing weight, for my health. Im 48 so vanity had been gone a long time ago. I had been overweight since I was 11. I played sports but never could lose much weight. I got HBP 2 years ago, put on meds for that and high cholesterol. My blood pressure was peaking at 180/100, and this was right after waking in the AM.

After a pass out episode on the job, I knew it was time to get serious. So Apr.22, I weighed 230 lbs., I got on Medifast program, by August, I weighed 166!! Now my BP is around 107/62, my feet, knees and back dont hurt anymore, my diverticulosis and acid reflux is in the past, and my energy is amazing!! I switched programs to Herbalife, simply based on costs, began to believe in it so much that I started selling it myself, not to make money on it, but to help others who feel like they are in desperation like I was.

I didnt like feeling like I was doomed for a short life, not seeing my kids life unfold before me, having the chance to enjoy grandkids someday. I prayed to God for 2 years to send me some help, and I felt He did.

As much as anything, its a lifestyle change, but I needed a drastic change. After all, I wanted to be able to still visit the parks at a ripe old age, priorities you know:thumbsup2
Here I am around May 15, 2013, at Olivias Cafe a few days into weight loss, at that point, I had lost about 15 lbs.
This is around Aug 20, 2013 at a Braves game
And this is about the last shot I could find recent, us with AnnieT(fellow DISer and WISHer)at F&W in Oct 2013 celebrating our loss(Tammy has done it too!)with a grapefruit beer
Not sharing these to brag, just to show it can be done and a picture is worth a thousand words!!
