I think this is my book #12 of 50? Breathe by Sarah Crossan. YA dystopian about a world where oxygen is at a premium. It was ok.

French Women for All Seasons by Mireille Guiliano, the sequel to French Women Don't Get Fat, is, to me, more of the same -- everything in moderation, stop and smell the roses, and here are some recipes your family is sure to love (not!). I took it out of the library mostly because I love her name; Mireille is DD#2's middle name. Stupid reason, huh?

Well, I'm on to #18 - The Brutal Telling by Louise Penny. Back to the genre I love, murder mysteries. We're going to the library today; I think I'll try to find an interesting biography or autobiography.

Probably too late for your library run, but this past summer I read Forward From Here: Leaving Middle Age and Other Unexpected Adventures by Reeve Lindbergh (yes, daughter of). I enjoyed immensely!

Book #18 Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman

Review: I got this book on sale and so I decided to try it. It was a good book but not great. The author uses great description but her characters fall short on being interesting and the book lacks fluidity. The plot could have been really great but before things got too interesting, things were solved easily with a silk little bow.

The main character, CeeCee has a pretty hard life, her mother has died and her father is inattentive to his child. Her great-aunt takes CeeCee in and the little girl gains great friends, security and the love that had been denied to her.

CeeCee is twelve years old but the narration is too mature and her personality is a little bland and too "perfect". Some of the characters are cliched and predictable. The various plots are either undeveloped or left alone.

Would I suggest it? Nope, I do love a fluffy read but this one was too much. It was too sweet and just as bland as white bread.

#5. Into the Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes

Wow.. This was a very intense book that really made you think twice about "how well do I really know the person I'm starting a relationship with"!! The short chapters keep you engaged and wanting to know the rest of the story!!

#6. Going to attempt to read The Shack again.... I have heard this book is a good read but I every time I start it, I cannot continue...

Putting Into the Darkest Corner on my list. I read The Shack last year and it just didn't do it for me, lol. I have The Crossroads (by the same author) on my to read next shelf.

Okay so this one I liked a little better than the last few books I've picked up. It was written well, help my interest, and I wanted to know what happened. It wasn't an overly heavy book but I wouldn't call it fluff either. I'd give it a 3.5/5.

I finished Book 25 Delirium by Lauren Oliver - I love a good YA lovestory gave it 4 stars and I am anxiously awaiting reading the 2nd book (I'm on the library wait list).

I finished Book 26 The Book Thief by Markus Zusak (I started this as book 25 but it is quite heavy - being set in Nazi Germany; so I took a break and read Delirium in the middle). This is a wonderful book, I definitely enjoy light reading, which this is not but it was heartfelt, touching and thought-provoking about the power of individual relationships.

Oooh, I'm the one who recommended this book, many posts ago! I do hope you enjoyed it and that you'll read Vols. 2-4! But if it wasn't your cup of tea, no worries; it's not for everyone.

I didn't enjoy the second one as much as the first... but it was still good. And it has a crazy cliffhanger that will make you scream for the third one.
