Book #3
The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake
Review: On her birthday, Rose eats a slice of lemon butter and can sense the sadness and desperation of her mother's feelings. Since then she can taste the feelings of the cook making the dish. This makes things harder for her as years to come especially combined with the knowledge that only she knows her mother's transgressions and her brother's strange disappearances.
I thought it was an ok book. I think the author uses great descriptive language but I thought that she lost the grasp of the plot itself. It could have been written a little better with a clearer narrative but seemed vague. A lot of the story never really gets solved so...its ok but could have been so much better.
