Thank you! We have the ponchos packed but wasn't sure about something lightweight. Do people carry those types of things into the parks with them? I'd just hate to take up prime luggage space with something like a windbreaker...?

I like to have something lightweight for the airport and for restaurants. I wouldn't carry it into the parks, though.

We have a little guest with us who took us by surprise last month, a stray female cat she was in an awful state when she "adopted" us so we have been trying to do what's right for her as no one came forward to claim her despite trying all the usual methods so she is still with us. Our cat is tolerating her so far and I booked them both into the cattery we use when our Bill goes to his "holiday home" when we take a vacation. They really look alike too which causes confusion at night with both of them being black, luckily Bill is bigger than this new girl and she has a burgundy old collar on. Once she has had her second vaccinations and possibly been spayed (2 weeks time) then we can sort out a new safer collar for her. She is friendly but has the appetite of a gannet! We never see food left in any bowls now. She soon caught on to the sound of bowls being filled and treats for good behaviour, loves to be brushed and stroked but not bathed (just don't ask) and loves to play, not keen on being handled or the cat box poor mite! Luckily she will use the litter box inside so far and she is sleeping a lot too. Our vet thinks she is under two but we can't find a spaying scar on her anywhere so far.

I love that this cat adopted you! We also were adopted by 3 strays! They were kittens when we found each other, I don't know what we'd do without them!

One negative aspect of our trip is that our cats get all mad and stressed when we go away. We have someone watch them but they still get their tails in a bunch

Our cats are like this too! When we get luggage out of the attic they start going nutty, then they know we're going away. We're lucky too because my mom comes to check them & takes in the mail, so they don't have to go to a kennel. When I get home though there's big tuffs of hair everywhere, especially our bed, I think from stress. I think I might put down some sheets this next trip on top of the made bed!

I keep seeing people posting about discounted Gift Cards at Target....our nearest Target is 45 minutes away, so I don't get there as much as I should...Do they always have these? Do they have them with the gift cards for restaurants, and such? Do they have to activate them at the cash register? (bad experience at a Walmart where a gift card did NOT get activated, so it makes me a little nervous...)

Its really easy to get the Target Red Card, I got the Debit one, so it takes the purchases directly from my checking account like my personal debit card that I normally would pay with, but this saves you 5% only anything at Target except for actual Target gift cards for their store. So then you can use on Disney Gift Cards. they also have a Target Credit Card.

I did read somewhere here on Dis that at 1st until you get your official plastic card (it took about 2wks to get it) you have to use the paper they give you & it limits how many gift cards you buy. Not sure this is true (maybe someone on here knows for sure) as I only used the paper with my initial purchase that did not include any gift cards, just store stuff. When I read it here on the forum they elududed to it having to do with Red Card taking time to attach to your debit card to know exactly how much you have in it. So you may want to call your Target to check how many you can buy 1st day since you have to drive 45 mins. I wonder if you can apply online?

Did you hear a loud scream last night? If so, that was me in the Kohl's dressing room trying on bathing suits. EEK! Good news.....the almost 14-year-old and I now have bathing suits. I am not thrilled with the image of my body in a bathing suit, so iI'll just have to keep downing Sunken Treasures to get over my inhibitions! Bad news....holy cannoli were those suits expensive! 3 for DD13, 3 for DD10 and two for me....$315! I'm sure they will offer another 20% off coupon soon so I can get a price adjustment.

I just got a coupon in the mail on a little catalog a few days ago with the peel off coupon, mines for 20% & starts tomorrow. So keep your on the mail. If you can use my coupon code to maybe reorder everything online & return the other stuff, pm me & gladly give it to you.

I can NOT imagine being 45 minutes from Target ... it is basically around the corner from my house...
Yes, they activate right there.

Our Target always carries them. They come in a $50 denomination and can be found in the Electronics area with all of the other gift cards. Our Target stocks them in the checkout aisle too as if to remind me to buy some! They are only discounted if you purchase them using a Target Visa or debit card. I have not had any problems with them being activated when I call WDW to apply them to my balance.

Can't even comment on the bathing suit situation because I am just avoiding it altogether... maybe a swim dress for me this summer?

I was reading on another thread that last year there were characters at each hotel during the MNSSHP, where previous years they were only at 2 hotels. So do you think there will be some characters at BC/YC? when & Where? Anyone experience this last year? I never heard of this.

Just registered my AP. It took about 10 minutes. The CM was a little unsure she could do it, but I reassured her it was possible and with a little tinkering she was able to register it

I do the Target gift cards as well. I have about 60 now. Out of all of them, only one didn't activate like it was supposed to.

As far as bathing suits, I bought two. One that fits now and one that should fit by the trip. So, if I am wearing pink in August, I didn't make my goal. But, if I am in teal, I will probably be much happier.

I am also a long distance from my target, over an hour one way so what I did was went to their website and downloaded a red card application and mailed it with my voided check. About 2 - 3 weeks later I received my DEBIT red card in the mail.

I activated my red card over the phone. I also called and spoke to someone and they told me there is a limit of 6 giftcards per day that you can purchase on line. I don't know if this is true or not or if this is only for the DEBIT red card, but every time I try to buy more than 6 cards I get rejected. 6 seems to be the magic number.

I have placed several orders online and have had on time deliveries via the post office. I have already used them several times to pay on my balance. All I did was scratch off the back of the gift card and give the numbers to the CM. Easy Peasy!!! I am actually waiting on 4 deliveries right now. I will be able to pay off both of my CL rooms and only have the Villa left to pay. I am saving about $500 using the red cards, so you really need to get one so you can start saving too!!!

I know it was previously reported that the tubes were available without a rental fee, so that didn't shock me, but the other quote about the gift shop no longer being there was the first time I have heard this. I know Poolside Gifts was being used as a bar during the HH renovations, but I thought it had gone back to a gift shop after HH reopened.

Anyone have any further details or pictures?


2) During my previous stays at CL, we have been very lucky that our rooms were ready on arrival so we stashed our carryons before heading to a park. But for those of you who have checked in, but your room wasn't ready yet- is there a place on that level for your carryons (or luggage) or did you bring it back down to Bell Services until your room was ready?

1. I did not see poolside gifts. It look the pool activity staff was using where I think it was (under the pergola area near where the have the pool activities).

2. We drove but the bell hop took what we did not want sitting in the car. They stored it on the 1st floor. We did not carry it upstairs when we checked in.

Oh Catho72....that is why on Memorial Day weekend when I accidentally went to JC Penney instead of Shaw's (grocery store) and found suits 50% off I went crazy...but not before I checked their return policy!!!! I got all the gals (3) 2 suits and I got one. I need one more but it needs to be a competitive one. I'm a semi-competitive swimmer and have my first race post elbow surgery coming up.

Target....our closest 2 are 45 minutes in either direction....which is good because it seems I can't leave that store without racking up a large bill. My "thing" with the Target GC "deal" is that I can only spend it at Disney...we only go every 3 years and in between do other things (like Virgin Islands next summer!!!). Was thinking of doing this with our change jar and way too many (DH got lazy!) returnables, however I am more leaning towards traveller's cheques.

I "think" I am down to 56 days or so....such a busy end of school year this year and next week me and DD10 go to her first Nationals with her competitive dance team!!!

My kiddos are having a love/hate relationship with my counting down for vacation...their last day of school is Monday and we return from vacation the Friday before they start school up again for the next year. LOL

Never mind that bird stuff, I have it on good authority that a "gannet" is a type of bathing suit favored by middle aged women. The reason it's called a "gannet" is that that when she finally puts it on she asks:

"Gannet fit me and be under $300 dollars?"
"Gannet come in any other color or shape?"
and finally "Gannet be true that everything is drooping THAT badly!!"

Ocalla- I checked AP site this am as there was a rumor that fall rates would be released today as the summer rates for the 35% off ended yesterday, no fall rates yet today! Now the summer rates at at 30% instead of 35% for deluxe.

Are you stuck on the old Disney website since AP upgrade yesterday? My computer & desktop revert back to old Disney website since CM had to have me go through old website to get it to work. Not sure how to get back to new one!
