Ok, need quick advice!!!!

Just did my daily check of the Disney site, and a Lagoon or Pool View CL room has just opened up! I'm currently booked for a BCV 1BR. Looks like moving back to BC would cost us an additional $200.

Pros and cons??? :confused3

Here's what I'm thinking:

Pros of staying at BCV:
- more room, including separate area for DH and me
- perhaps quieter, especially with the Pediatrician convention
- full kitchen, but we'll have DxDP so I don't think we'll be using it

Pros of staying at BC:
- closer to everything - BCV being quiet could also translate to feeling disconnected...?
- closer to SAB, definitely a destination for us this trip

What do you all think? I know I've got a tiny window to make this decision - need your expertise. :)

Hmm that's a tough one. I can tell you this, I just returned from a family gathering at CSR and i think the quiet "disconnect" my parents thought they would like by heading back to their room and resting....drove them batty!!! They would prefer to say head down to the Lobby at BC, sit and relax with ACTION going on (people watching).

But I understand the the separate room would be appealing!!!

I say, BC all the way!!!

Having stayed in both: BC CL for sure because the only time I'm in the room is to sleep or change clothes. Really don't need all that a one bedroom villa offers. If I were staying 2 weeks, maybe, but not for a week. However, if I'm doing CL, I would downgrade to regular dining plan for sure. You're getting breakfast every day in the lounge and appetizers before dinner ... why would you need three sit down meals with club level? If you stay with deluxe dining, then I would definitely not do club level. I'd book a regular room at the BC instead. JMO

D'oh - nevermind. Forgot to build in DxDP - it's actually $1,000 more. :upsidedow

Even if we take out DxDP and just do Magic Your Way Plus Dining (for about $200 more), then use CL for breakfasts and some snacks, we'd still have to cut our TS meals or pay out of pocket for those. Don't think it's worth it.

Right? :)

Have you considered just a Lagoon room without CL since you are doing DxDP?

Teena: We are thinking alike this morning.....I say either Cl OR Dining Plan, but not both for sure!!!

Great minds ..... I just feel so bad when someone books CL and Deluxe Dining. It's such a waste of money. There is no way you get your money's worth. If you paid for all the signature restaurants in cash and ordered what you wanted and not what they make you get, you'd come out so much better money wise. I've done the math over and over again.

Is there any difference in the CL and non-CL Lagoon or Pool View room itself?

Nope. With CL you are getting the same room (but on a different floor) but you get IPO plus the lounge. With deluxe dining you probably aren't going to be using the lounge so if you are sticking with deluxe dining, I'd never do CL. If you sit down and do the math, you would probably save lots of money doing CL and no dining plan (pay money instead for your meals) or at least downgrade to regular dining plan (which at the price it is now, probably isn't that much in savings).

As usual, you've nailed it.

That feeling of walking back over the IG after Illuminations when everyone else is headed for the busses or monorail is super!

To me, Teena truly exemplifies the feel of Disney and in particular the Beach Club!

I LOVE that feeling too!! While I love Wishes, Illuminations is my favorite night time show at WDW!

And I couldn't agree more about Teena. She's just wonderful! I also love Pete at the BC too!! Can't wait to get back to WDW in October...

Mickey T you are so right about Teena! She is the epitome of Disney and BC. Much like Ranger Stan was at WL.

Ahhhh yes Ranger Stan too! One of my favorite memories of our WL stay back in 2005!!

I totally agree!!! Every year I say we are doing the dining plan, and then i start to add it up and it just doesn't work!!!

And there is NO way I could eat all that food combining CL and DxDP!!!

....One more thing, if you are going during the Food & Wine Fest, I would imagine you will be sampling so much food at Epcot in addition to your dining plan and/or CL food!!!

Absolutely correct!!!

Ok - it is DONE!!!!!! :cool1:

Just grabbed the CL Lagoon or Pool view at BC and canceled dining. I think it's the best option for us. Although we are total foodies, we never use all of the credits and just can't eat all of the food that's included. We loved having TIW last year as AP holders so we could still get a discount yet order exactly what (and how much) we wanted. Honestly, I may even cancel a few TS meals - scheduled one or two extra just to make sure we were getting the value from the DxDP.

Very happy! Thank you!!!!!! :flower3:

I really think you did the smart thing. Now if you liked the idea of paying for your meals before your trip (like you do with the dining plan), I recommend taking the money that you would have spent for the dining plan and buying Disney gift cards with it now ... that way everything for your vacation is paid for up front. Then just whip out your gift cards to pay for all food and I'll bet you end up with money left over on the cards at the end of your trip. Just remember, with the dining plan, you still would have been paying the tips out of pocket. I agree that TIW is the way to go, especially since it is good for 13 months.

laura428: I think you just made the smartest choice out there!!!!

Now, can I sneak in your suitcase and join you???

Only 2 years to go, then DH and I can finally make the F & W fest!!!!
