Well this is it....
Tickers coming down. In 8 hours we're on a journey. A year and a half in the planning with the Mother of all spreadsheets.

Tomorrow. Disneyland. ::MickeyMo
Monday-Disney Wonder Pacific Coast. pirate:
Next Monday-Disney Wonder Alaska. pirate:

See y'all on the other side.

"But why are all the tickers gone???"

Love your new signature quote- I'll be interested in hearing about your DL and cruise experiences.

Have fun!

:cool1::woohoo::yay:

SAB was functioning very well, had a blast... Tough to get Kayla out even to go to Epcot.... LOVE SAB - esp for parents of only children who think it is her parents' jobs to entertain her 24/7 (no hyperbole there..... alright, but you kow what I mean...).

So far we are having a wonderful time and are looking forward to more fun!

You should try having three that think it's your exclusive job to entertain them (between beating on each other that is!) The only respite was when Daddy would come home and they would swarm him! :thumbsup2:faint:

Have a great trip to all who are descending on the BC/YC and BCV Villas... (including the flies ;) )

See ya soon! But shhhhh, don't tell NM, she's upset :upsidedow

You leave my List husband ALONE!! Get your own man! After all there is still HubbDave, jakeybake and Dan's Dad and let's not forget HuncleMarco!

Have a fantastic trip, Mike! :cool1:

What is wrong with your friend?! Does she not understand the urgency of making plans? If you don't start making solid plans now, you will run out of time to change your mind many times before the start of the trip. :)

Yes Mike, have a fantastic trip and leave that man 'stealin' woman alone!

And Feckless... MAKE the ADR's!!

I have a special plan for YOU! Get yourself one of those giant carnival wheels where they spin it and it has prizes on it, only you are going to put restaurant names on it. Make your ADR's, think about it for too long then spin that wheel and what ever restaurant it lands on, call and change your ADR to that!

Spin that wheel at least 15 times a day, because you know you are going to want to. Why heck, some of those choices may even match up with what your friend wants, not that she would tell you!! :sad2:

I can't wait to hear of all your conniptions for this upcoming trip! :thumbsup2

Arrived yesterday at 11.00, our room was not ready but it's ok since we wanted to return the car and go for lunch.
We went to Big River on the boardwalk, it was fine.
Since the room was still not ready we went to Epcot.
We met with Chip n Dale, Mickey, Pluto and Minnie . Our DS was sooooo happy.
Since we did photopass plus, we have great pictures :-)
We did Nemo and go back to BC to take our room.
Great location, viewing the quiet pool. Keys worked perfectly.
Only negative comment, everytime a neighbour is using the water (restroom, bath,...) we hear it.... Loud!
Wonderingif we should ask to change room... We'll see tonight

Anyone that will be at SAB tomorrow. We will be there from around 2 to whenever. If anyone is interested in meeting at a spot, I'm game...

Oh boy! I'd love to hang out with you!!! Will you be eating? (the insert hopeful look!) :woohoo: Don't worry about the time.... we can eat all day!

Big wet smoochie kisses ..... your NEW Best friend, Buzzy the fly!!!!!!

LOVE Jiko! Be sure to ask for the Filet with Mac and Cheese... this is not on the menu any longer BUT they will make it if you ask and it is AWESOME!! Did the House of Blues Gospel Brunch a few years ago was pretty good!

Enjoy
~Nannette

I'm so glad you've got great things to say about House of Blues. I was afraid it was gonna be kinda hokey, but seeing that gospel choir right before I saw the finish line at the Disney 1/2 in January made me want to see them again!

Wondering if Mr. Buzzy has the same problem when he gets home from work????

Darn tooting I do! When you're a fly with a wife who lays hundreds of eggs a day it's larva this and larva that 24-7-30 days or so. And let me tell you that woman can shop. She is constantly finding new places to lay the eggs and I have to be the one that finds them to round them up. Do you know how long it takes to put tiny life jackets on all those kids when we go to Storm Along Bay? Just about as soon as you are finished somebody runs over and tells you they are hungry or have to use the bathroom!!!!!

Signed, your exhausted pal ..... Buzzy the Fly

Hi from freezing cold England!!

We are staying at the BC in late August and have booked a garden view room.

We would like a room towards the Epcot end of the hotel, but one feature of the room we definitely require is a full balcony!

Can anyone offer any advice as to what areas / room number requests i need to make, as looking at various plans has made me very confused!!

Many thanks,

Jon

I don't recommend asking for a specific room. I would add the request "full balcony near Epcot" to your reservation. Do not do an on-line check-in and when you get to the desk, ask immediately if you have a full balcony. If they say no, tell them you really want one and if one is not available today, then you would like a room change tomorrow to a room with a full balcony. If they say you have a full balcony, ask if it is closer to Epcot than the lobby. If yes, congrats. If not, I'd just go with a full balcony no matter where it is ... JMO. Getting two requests met during a busy time of the year is a long shot.

Many thanks for your reply.

Stayed last 3 times at WL and always had my room request met.

Thanks for the advice re online check in.

Hello, we're planning our first YC stay in August and I'm kind of obsessing about room storage. (Some people have that knack of sizing up a room and instantly knowing just where to put everything, but I am sadly not one of them!) I was looking into getting some of the ebag packing cubes for our luggage because everyone says they're so great to just set inside the drawers in your room, but I'm not sure what sizes would be best. (We'll be flying Southwest, so we'll have plenty of luggage room.) Taking that thought a step further... :rolleyes2...I'm wondering if anyone has ever measured all the drawers/cubbies in the room? I thought it might be nice to have our toiletries in bins under the sink, maybe a shoe box type "junk drawer" bin for the cubby in the low dresser and how do people use that liquor cabinet thing beside the fridge? (besides the obvious ;)) Any thoughts or ideas? TIA

DW and I decided to spend a few days at the YC after we drop off DS at college in Melbourne (Florida Tech). We will be staying at the YC in a GV CL room from August 15 - 18. Got a reasonable price with the GP discount, but I'll try to apply the bounceback discount to the reservation while we're at OKW next month (or maybe a better AP discount will be released).

First vacation (although very short) without DS in over 16 years! What were we thinking?!?!? :confused3

We have arrived at BC. It all started when our alarm went off at 3am (California time). At this point we both feel like zombies even though we aren't even sure what zombies are. We got to DME at 5pm and we did need to wait a bit for the Disney bus. No bus in site when we arrived and when we boarded the bus we did wait about 20 mins before we left. We were greeted at BC and escorted right up to CL, they even offered us a glass of wine right away ( we must've looked like we needed it!). We were assigned a king suite on the 3rd floor....how cool is that? Our reservation was for GV and I had requested a full balcony. Unfortunately this room only has a small balcony, but we can deal with that. 2 small sofas, 2 TV's and a walk in closet. Very nice. Since the room is on a corner we have windows on 2 sides. The balcony on the side face a sand volleyball area and the front window faces the water. I don't know where they show the movie and the beach night but I can tell you it was "Lion King" because we could hear it from our room. This is not a negative comment though, as I love the movie. I would've gone down to find out where it was playing, but like I said before we both feel like zombies. In our short time here there are no fly problems that we have seen. Tomorrow Epcot.

Have a great trip!!!

Is late August really considered a busy time?

Too tired to upload pix. The flowers are particularly beautiful with the generous gift of rain the April vacationers gave... thank you!

We got to the resort at 3:00 checked in... room close to elevator wasn't ready but a far one was so we jumped on it. Has a double balcony that goes the length of the villa.

Overlooks the canal in front of the Beach Club, Quiet Pool to the left and parking lot to the right. We like it a lot!

We went to Epcot with just enough time to spare to get to our 7:15p Garden Grill ADR. We ate too much of course... Delicious as always, and the characters were great. Pluto was hilarious!!! Licking us, tickling my daughter... Always have a great time at the GG.

Then we went on Figment (a family fav), hit SSE, and called it a night.

We will have our first real day at Epcot tomorrow.

Technology update: forgive me if this is not news, can't keep straight what is new. We got our AP's at the IG and they issued us RFID cards, no need to go into Epcot to exchange. The iPad ladies were waiting for us and walked each party to a checkin castmember... I think mine was new (no earning my ears tag, but certainly not seasoned) so it took a while to do online checkin... oh well, we had no place we had to be and he was polite, not overly friendly, but he seemed shy. No issues with keys, room is good, no issues.

SAB was functioning very well, had a blast... Tough to get Kayla out even to go to Epcot.... LOVE SAB - esp for parents of only children who think it is her parents' jobs to entertain her 24/7 (no hyperbole there..... alright, but you kow what I mean...).

Thank you so much for sharing! It really does make the time go faster... :cheer2:

My DD2 is sitting on my lap right now expecting to be entertained so I know *exactly* what you mean about providing 24/7 entertainment! :rotfl2:

Now, the good thing about requesting a patio, is that you have lots of space and I think if you get a first floor room, all of them have patios, so you wouln't be disappointed about receiving a smaller balcony. But personally, I don't think I would like one. I would be concerned with a lack of privacy as people walk by.

Maybe some folks who have stayed in a room with a patio can comment about whether privacy was a concern with these rooms.

Thank you for the reply. I hadn't even considered the privacy issue so I will stick with requesting a full balcony and hope that we get lucky.:)

Around Labor Day ... very busy.

I agree. We've been there a few times during the third/fourth week of August and it's been pretty busy. A lot of schools (especially up north) start back up right after Labor Day, so you have a lot of last minute vacationers.

Six weeks from today!!! Can't wait.

I know my ticker is wrong - ds did it for me a few years ago and now that he's out on his own I don't know how to change it! It just keeps replaying year after year!!!

To the poster who asked about the patio. Twice at YC and one time when we had a deluxe cl room at BC we had a patio. We really liked it - it definitely takes away the "balcony" stress.
