What is your one "must do" at BC?

I have WAY more than one but I'll try to keep it short.

1. Order a Kitchen Sink from Beaches and Cream.
2. Swim in SAB.
3. Say hi to Teena.
4. People watch in the lobby.
5. Relax and enjoy a meal in the Solarium.
6. Walk to EPCOT.

New on my list for 2013: enjoy a Sunken Treasure at SAB.

We arrived at Beach Club today - here's how things are going....

Our flight was a half hour late taking off - they were fixing the phone that the flight attendants use. Oh well...

Arrived at MCO, headed to ME and were on the bus in about 30 minutes after landing. Beach Club was the third stop after POR and BW.

We're staying CL, so I was keeping my eyes open for a cast member to approach us. No one did, but as soon as we walked in the door, I flagged one down and told him we were staying CL. He looked on his ipad and found our name and took us right up to the 5th floor. He apologized for not meeting us outside, but he had just walked someone inside. No worries there.

We had to wait a few minutes to check in. We were offered drinks and snacks while we waited. The kids had some snacks since we landed around 11:30 and hadn't had any lunch yet. It was approximately 1:30. I had done the online checkin, but I don't know that it saved us anytime. They did have our key cards made up, but had to do my cc on the account, because "it didn't stick" the first time. We were offered 2 rooms - 1 was on the 5th floor, but didn't have a daybed, or we could go to the 4th floor and have a daybed, but have all the access to the lounge. They said both rooms were the exact same size. I left the choice up to my daughter since she'd be the one sleeping on whatever was chosen. She chose to stay on the 5th floor, so they ordered a roll away. I figured that was ok because we could put it up when she wasn't in it.

We dropped our stuff in the room and headed to Epcot to Sunshine Seasons because we were starving by then. We had a small lunch, rode the living with the land ride, headed over to Nemo and saw Turtle Talk with Crush (Funniest Crush I've ever seen, btw). We also stopped by the photopass desk at Epcot to pick up our photopass that we pre-purchased.

It was around 4:30 and my husband was in a panic because of the forecast of rain, so we headed back to BC. That was the plan anyways since we had dinner ressies at Cape May. My kids love crab legs!

We came back and took a look around, had some drinks from the lounge and then had our dinner. At this point it's pouring outside - we had originally indended to do emh at HS. My kids were starting to get worn down since we started out this morning at 6, so we decided to hang out at the resort and head to bead early and hopefully be at MK around 7 tomorrow morning.

The movie and evening activities were moved inside, so the kids did some coloring and played games with cast members. We came upstairs and checked out a couple movies from the lounge, but I still can't figure out how to get the dvd player to work.:confused3 Maybe tomorrow:)

I took some room view pics - room 5675. I'll link here, and try to get them to the room view thread. Dee - you're welcome to use. We reserved SV, I assume that's what they gave us. We got a pretty great view - I think my daughter chose well:)

I should also add that wifi is excellent tonight.:cool1:

Why is it that when I try to book Ohana for 2 people there are no reservations, but when I put in 3 or 4 there's room? I feel like I'm being penalized for being a small party! Is this nuts?:crazy2:

Have fun mommakacie! 36 days to go for us...AND we got mickey mail today from DME! Starting to feel real!:cool1:

Kacie thanks for sharing! I'm glad to hear that you're having such a good time! :goodvibes

In the past you were able to make an adr for a different number of people (example - there are 5 of us, but only opening was for 6). I don't know if you can still do that or not. We had done that in years past (cast members seemed to have no problem with it - especially since it was just 1 different), but I didn't have any restaurants that I was dying to get into this time to try to manhandle the system that way. Maybe you could try to make the adr for 3 even if there are only 2 of you???

Love getting mail from Disney! Yes, it does feel more real, but I'm still trying to adjust to being here and we're here!:)

Thank you - we are and hoping the next few days go as well!

On a side note, I didn't tell my husband we were staying CL until we were on ME today. I wasn't sure what he'd think of the idea. So when he asked if I ordered groceries this time, I told him. And I told him what we got for staying CL. He looked at my 11 year old and said "your mom has gone yuppie".
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: But he hasn't minded one bit and said us eating breakfast there in the mornings would almost be worth the difference in the price. That was kind of how I justified it, too!

Can I do that? :confused3 Is it allowed? If I put in 3 it says there's a table!

"your mom has gone yuppie".

So funny!!! Lol :rotfl::rotfl: you need to start calling him "Lovie"& he can call you "Buffy" & he can wear an ascot!

I noticed this last trip and this trip. Although more with the odd number issue. But there have been times there is no room for 6 but 8 is fine. I don't get how they do their reservations.

Well after going back and forth trying to figure out whether to book my MILs room at BCV or YC during our BC stay next month lo and behold a standard view BC room with the AP discount popped up out of the blue tonight so we snagged it. :cool1: That will make things much easier.

Now if only by some miracle we could add her to our BoG ADR while she is with us. That's our only scheduling issue we have with her addition. I'm going to feel ridiculous if I have to let her go eat somewhere by herself so we can keep it. Although I know she really won't mind. She's cool like that.

Yes make the ressie with the 3 people. There is some sort of a glitch in the system. I remember reading that if you put 1 person in the reservation form the system thinks that it doesn't have a 1 person table, so in certain restaurant systems it won't let you make a reservation at all.

mommakacie! Thanks for filling us in on your stay!! :cool1: There is nothing like a little taste of home to tide us over in between trips or wet the appetites for those that are preparing for a trip.

I stayed at the BC in Oct of 2012 and again Feb 28-March 6 2013....We were there for the opening day of flower and garden...We could only spend a few hours there and had to run to catch the Magical Express....Well, thanks to an AP discount, I'm coming back May 3-8. My sister's coming with me. She asked "is it really worth it to stay at the BC"?.....Am I totally insane for this???? It's the first year of my retirement, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it and doing what I want after working as a nurse for about a million years!!! Can't wait to see her face when she sees my favorite place in WDW!!! So....add me to the list...I'm coming home!!! pleasepleaseplease let me score a full balcony!:yay::yay::yay:

Glad you are coming back home! Make sure you put full balcony requested on your reservation!

T-37, oh how my "babies" are impatiently stalking the mailman for the Mickey Mail! It's agony!!

In our house stalking the mailman is my job!!!! Everyone knows not to open the Mickey Mail or Mom will be upset! I do the grand opening of the mail!!!!! So please send sympathies to the kids....it's agonizing!

And so you deserve!!!!!! My Dad retired a few years ago and has the travel bug. My Mom is still working as a house director for nursing at the same hospital that I work at (not a nurse - I get to work with surveyors) and now refers to her working as paying for her new splurge of traveling - so enjoy and spend it how you want!

ROTFL!! Does your DH have long hair and a long beard and are you the hot wife? I'm having visions of Duck Dynasty!! Glad you are having a good time and that your DH is enjoying CL!!
