The family is getting together to celebrate Christmas the weekend before the holiday. So that gets the obligations out of the way. For the first time in five years, I don't have to work Christmas Day, so I have a day off. What to do with a day off in the middle of the week . . . . so I decided to spend the day at Epcot. Got my FP+ and CP package all lined up. Then saw that I could get an ADR Christmas Eve at an Epcot restaurant I've been wanting to try . . .booked it. OK, so it seems kind of stupid to drive over to Epcot two days in a row during a busy week . . . so yesterday I booked the 24th and 25th at YC (and the 24th at a discount, no less)! Funny how having a day off from work can turn into a vacation!

So now its 10 days at BC in early December to really do the parks before the crowds hit, plus a bonus for Christmas at the YC. I feel like I won the Disney lottery!

Forgive me for asking a question that's probably already been asked and answered somewhere in this thread...

We stayed at the YC this past April and loved it! I haven't been back on this thread since that trip so I am not up-to-date with all the BC / YC happenings.

A friend of mine asked me if she should stay at the YC next summer and before I give her a definitive YES, I wanted to ask all of you a question: Are there any big refurbishments planned at the BC or YC for next year? Room renovations or pool closures?

Thanks!! :goodvibes

OK...I finally had time to search this thread so I think I've answered my own question. From what I read, it looks like BC rooms will be renovated starting sometime in 2014, and the YC rooms will follow probably in 2015. So, you can all ignore my question or feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken. :)

Thanks!

All checked in and at B&C for lunch by 11:20. Had the always wonderful Vilma at check in. In room 5668. CL standard. One of the smaller rooms with a smaller full balcony. Over top of the portico. Christmas decorations up. 78` SAB looks beautiful as always. Happy. Happy. Happy.

Ahhh...jealous! I am sad that we missed seeing the holiday decorations last week!

MickeyT - have a wonderful trip!

B&C is always our first day lunch on our BC/YC trips!

Vilma is wonderful.

Sounds like a great plan... how fun... love the plan:goodvibes

Who's here and wants water and 2 chobani yogurts? We are checking out today and have some leftovers? We are at the YC but are going to Cape May for a late breakfast at 10:45, so we could throw the items in the stroller and meet at BC a few minutes before then...

PS: Welcome back Dawn Maree!~
Thank you! :goodvibes

What do you mean stinky grapefruit? I LOVE grapefruit, especially with bath products. Nothing like your mouth watering while taking a shower. :lmao:

Great! I have never gone that time and admit I'd be afraid of the crowds. :crowded:

I am hoping someone can answer this: When we go to the beach club this February, we have invited our niece (who goes to college in Orlando) to come see us for a night. If she is not going into the parks do I even need to tell the hotel she is staying for the night? We would probably just stay at Beach Club but I wondered how I do that and still have her be able to go to stormalong bay with us without a magic band? Also how do we have her park? Thanks!!

If you want her to have access to SAB she'll have to be a resort guest. After you check in, add her to your reservation. Then she'll get a KTTW or a grey MB and a parking pass. If she puts you over 2 adults in the room you'll have to pay the $25 per night extra adult fee.

thank you for the quick response -- will they still let me register her for 1 night even though we already are a family of 4 (3 actually adults since one of the kids is 12)? I just assume if we have a daybed she will sleep on that and if not then she would probably even sleep on the floor!!

Do they offer muffins etc for breakfast at the small lounge off the lobby at YC?

From the Dining Section on Page 1- These pictures are not recent, but it should give you an idea of what is available- click on the last link for lots of photos:

REAL COFFEE ALERT!!!

Ale and Compass is located just off the Yacht Club Lobby.

In the morning, breakfast items are available like a DECENT cup of coffee and tea, pastries, an assortment of cereal and fruit.

As long as you don't go over max room occupancy, it'll be no problem. And I'm pretty sure BC rooms have max occupancy of 5.

I'll try to catch up on the past couple of days on the thread tomorrow morning.

Tonight is opening night for Ben's play Myth Adventures. He plays Theseus, the Athenian who faces the Minotaur in the labyrinth. We have shows tonight, tomorrow, two on Saturday and Sunday. It's All Greek All Week!
