I got a card from the Concierge Desk for BOG lunch. They told me they discontinued the online booking :confused3 but the card worked.

Thanks for the head's up. That's good to know. How does the card work? Does it allow you to walk up at any time?

We were sad to miss Teena who was off during our visit to BCV in August... but I want to give a shout out for Sean, who was manning the Villas concierge desk several days. He was helpful with some ticket problems, helpful with a list of cards for the Sorcerors game, and always took a moment to have fun with kids passing through the villas lobby.

The manning of a desk at the Villas is a test ... I personally think it's a wonderful idea and very helpful!!!! Make sure if you liked it (and Sean of course) and want it to stay that you mention it in the survey you do after you get home or write a letter!!

Room 1081
First Floor Water View

These pictures are fabulous! Thank you so much! That's the room I want :) We have stayed at BC several times, but usually CL. We've never stayed at the Yacht club, so this will be a first. Can't wait for F&W!! Anyone else going and who will be in the Chase lounge as well?

Hey there SueM we saw some of the football teams arriving but they seemed very organised and respectful .... but I guess that if the teams on that lovely show Friday Night Lights can get away with such awful loud and rowdy behaviour then it could happen anywhere, really though they show themselves up for the people they are or as they say you can take the person from the neighbourhood....etc.

I don't know how the WDW staff cope with such incidents it could really test tolerance levels.

TBH some of our sports fans are a nightmare too and others are much more pleasant and quieter about the teams they follow.

Thank goodness we don't have to live close to "sports personalities" in our home town.

I'm not sure what dates you were there, but during the later part of our stay, last week of August, there were football teams staying. I heard they trashed rooms.
Those wasps were awful! I'm allergic, and had to ask my daughter, friend or CM to get my mug refill! I wish they could put some wasp catchers in or something!!

Yep, we saw them. We were in room 3718 and a few of the football players were in rooms in that hallway. We never heard them really, but they definitely took up a lot of space. I got really worried when I saw bus loads of huge guys entered the BC lobby. We also saw a Mississippi team get off the monorail at MK.

The ones we saw in our hotel were from Florida A&M. I spoke to two of the guys in the elevator who told me they were playing a game in two days so they were being put up there. Later learned that it was the Florida Citrus Bowl. Which I gather is a big deal. I don't follow football at all, which I'm sure I made evidently clear to those guys when I asked them were they "here for a gathering of some sort?"

couple of pics from my trip from last week of august. Been crazy catching up in the real world.

first is the cribs as requested

then the view from my balcony looking to the left. rm 4150. it connected to 4152 which the rest of my family was in.

i'll post my thoughts of the week after i catch up on the thread. only 25 pages to go...

We received our MBs about 2 weeks ago and arrive for our first stay at the BC on Saturday :)

Today I received an e-mail from Disney with tips on using the MBs. We can even use them to check in at DME - I didn't know that! Here's the e-mail:

We're excited you are coming to visit Walt Disney World Resort! If you've decided to be a part of the MyMagic+ test, here are a few suggestions on how to make sure you're prepared.

Don't forget to bring your MagicBands

If you had your MagicBands shipped to you, you'll need them as soon as you arrive and will want to wear them while you travel and throughout your visit. If you're flying, make sure you don't pack your MagicBands in your checked bags. You'll need them to board Disney's Magical Express at the airport.

Your MagicBand connects you to the choices you've made on My Disney Experience. With it, you'll be able to:

•Enter your Disney Resort hotel room.

•Enter the Walt Disney World Parks
(valid Park admission required).

•Access the FastPass+ experiences you've selected.

•Buy food and merchandise* at select locations.

Plus, your MagicBand is waterproof so you can wear it everywhere and anywhere, even in the pool.

Your privacy is important to us. Please visit MyDisneyExperience.com/privacy for information about privacy and data collection policies including your option to select an RF card.

Make sure to select or update your FastPass+ experiences

If you're planning to visit the Theme Parks during this test, with the NEW FastPass+ service, you can choose times to visit select attractions and shows before you arrive** (valid Theme Park admission required). Plus, you can view and modify your FastPass+ selections at any time on MyDisneyExperience.com or on the My Disney Experience mobile app.

Download the My Disney Experience mobile app for FREE

This digital guide to the magic allows you to reserve dining and select FastPass+ experiences**—and make changes on the go. Plus, enjoy access to show times, smart Park maps and official wait times in one easy place to help you get around. To download now, visit:

Woot! I was able to book the Pirate Cruise from Yacht Club on 11/6 for my piratey girls (9 and 6) who would way rather be Elizabeth Swann than any princess ;):yay:

Oh yeah, we saw football players in the YC lobby on our last evening, Thursday Aug 29, looked like they were heading into Captain's Grille for dinner. Other than that didn't see or hear them. We were in 4100. Our room was the first room around that little courtyard so everyone passed nearby, but noise wasn't too bad really. My DH assumed they had a game Saturday, but we left Friday morning to come home.

Yay! Enjoy it! We really loved using them and they worked well from the beginning.

Staying at BC for the first time ever during a split-stay 11/3-8...2 nights at AKL club level and 3 nights BC garden view. ONe room for us and one room for my parents who are going with us. Just sayin' hi, I need to start reading up!!

Woohoo! It will be here before you know it!! :-)

quick thoughts on my first YC stay 8/25 to 8/31

not much to complain about. loved the room, location. our recent stays were at POR and we got used to a food court so that was an adjustment. loved the magicbands. no issues with the bands, everything worked.

the location to tap to open your room is too close to the door frame.

disney also needs to improve it's wifi if it expects people to manage their trip using MDE apps. found it easier to use LTE than wifi.

also wish the yacht club store was open earlier than 9am.

I don't find the busses long from AKL. Ak is 5 min away, EP or DHS is maybe 15 min, and MK 25 min. It takes the same time to get to MK, as staying at an MK resort going to AK.

Thanks for the input. I usually stay at the Beach Club Villas, so I'm spoiled by the easy walk to Epcot.

I am already starting to plan for our trip in 8 months because this my "pleasurable activity" break when at work. :) For room request, the past two years, we have requested a higher floor for quiet as my son would actually nap. Now I think DH would like to request close to pool. John will be 7 and we will probably be in the pool a lot. Is there something that I am not thinking about other than it will be noisier? Just call me master of the obvious :)

Thanks for all the great info! I have learned so much from your efforts.

Checked in and was surprised with a free upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite and club level access. Not sure why but we're extremely happy:thumbsup2

:cheer2: What a great upgrade. I would love something like that. pixiedust:

We had a room that overlooked the main pool once, and not only was it noisy, but there seemed to be a lot of outdoor lighting and it made it hard to get the room really dark. Although the view was great it was my least favorite room because of the noise and the bright lights.

If you look at the map of the BC/YC and the location of the main pool, SAB, you'll see that the pool isn't very close to the elevator. And the rooms that are closest to the pool are above the restaurants and stores, and the walk to the elevator is fairly long. The elevators are located on the other side of the lobby, and rooms that are near these elevators would probably be good ones to have. You could request "close to transportation" and then that would put you close to the lobby and close to an exit to the pool. :)

I have a question....Can you order food "to go" at Captain's Grill at the YC? I was wondering about this, would love to be able to order it and take it back to the room.
