Am I crazy to hope for these renos to include adding a sleeper chair at SSR?

We love SSR. But as my kids get older and bigger, they don't share a bed well AT ALL. Especially on the sleeper sofa in the 1 bdrms. We don't like to use the extra points for a 2 bdrm if we don't have to, but a good night's sleep is essential for our family to have a fantastic WDW experience.

So for the immediate future, as long as the kids will fit in a sleeper chair, we're planning on only staying in 1 bd villas with sleeper chairs, with an occasional 2 bd stay if we ever have the extra points to do so. (Which will be hardly ever!) :-) Obviously, this is pretty limiting. We would be so excited if they put a sleeper chair in the SSR villas. But am I dreaming?

I'm praying for that sleeper chair! What are the odds?

And how long do you think it will be before they announce the details of these room renovations?

I don't see how SSR (or BWV) can fit a sleeper chair, (BWV did not get a sleeper chair in their recent renovation.). Unless they got really creative with a murphy? bed there is just not the space of OKW..

OKW details were not known until people started staying in the new rooms.
It may be possible that the SSR model rooms will be renovated first (would be helpful showing potential customers flat screen TV's in all model rooms)

I don't think you will ever see them letting you add another person to a 1 bedroom.

The living rooms are too small to add the sleeper chair at SSR, BWV, BCV and VWL.

I so wish they would but I think the only way to add another bed at SSR is if they exchanged the armoire/TV cabinet for the Murphy bed a la GCV & Aulani. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening.

We just keep an air mattress in our OL for SSR stays.

Okay, I'm confused. Just got back from first ever trip to SSR. We already had a flat screen TV in our studio (Congress Park if that matters)...

Flat panel TVs have been going into rooms since last summer. This renovation is a separate project.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking but I wouldn't rule anything out yet. One of the reasons BWV couldn't be retrofitted with the Murphy Beds because of the living room location of the connecting door on Lockoff villas. Those connecting doors are near the villa entry at SSR so the Murphy Beds may still be an option.

Or, they could look at more radical changes to the villas. Most of the newer resorts have gone to an L-shaped kitchen layout rather than the U-shaped design of SSR, BWV, BCV, etc. If they are willing to pay for dramatic changes to the room layout, more options exist. Reconfiguring walls is probably not practical, but cabinets can be moved / replaced and the style of certain furniture pieces (dining room table) can be altered.

Considering the low standing of SSR in the minds of many members and the fact that DVC still has points to sell, nothing would surprise me. Particularly since member dues (reserves) will fund most of the work.
