I'm so happy we joined DVC a few years ago. The prices of rooms keep going up and up. I'm so happy to have my accommodations all set for years to come!!!! :woohoo:

That is one of the major reasons why we bought into DVC in the first place (with of course the fact that we love Disney and love our vacations here). I am so thankful that our January trip is not going to cost us as much as our previous trips before we bought DVC (already have the tickets, just have to pay for food and souvies). While others will be stressing about whether there is Free Dining coming out or special rates, I will be stress free on my balcony having the time of my life :goodvibes

Tell me about it! We ran out of points for our March trip this year and we booked a room only at the Poly in a standard room. We are actually thinkng about doing a 100pt add on via resale because of the rack rates. 100pt ad on via resale could be around $7000 depending on where we buy and that would give us years of vacations. Poly rack rate is $3500 for 1 year and one week!

Go with the add on! We took a trip in January and sat at The Poly for lunch at Captain Cooks and I thought...NOWAY would I pay top dollar for a hotel room anymore! Nope...notta chance! We added on when we got home!

There is one ugly side bar... Over the life of a DVC contract, the most expensive part will be annual dues.
Of course, dues go up every year.

True about the dues...but as long as they are keeping my home resort in tip top shape I'm ok with them!!!

I was going to sell my DVC back before the change thinking that we could cut down on Disney Vacations and also use pins for great room rates. That was until I saw the prices of rooms. This was before the price increase for 2012. I am so lucky to have gotten out of the contract and got to keep my DVC.

Even though we have our DVC because we live so far away each trip to Disney is still a couple thousand so I did cut back and now we bank points and then the following year stay in 1 br instead of a studio.

Glad to know we are saving while spending. Any way to do it cheaper?
