2012 Free Dining Watch and Wait HERE

Our trip was planned for Nov 10th-17th I was looking at my calendar and noticed that Veterans Day is Monday this year...that ruled FD out(that and a whole lot of other things/festivals that weekend) so we moved our trip to the Sunday after Thanksgiving November 25th-Dec 2nd. The last few years FD was offered on the weekend after Thanksgiving. Do they do this every year? Is the upgrade from reg DP to DxDP is $51 or $16?
Please read Post #490 of this thread and it should answer your questions.

Hoping for FD for end of January 2013. We have always had it during this week and last year, they announced those dates in the summer. I think it was August. Looking forward to it. Now just deciding between POR or AOA family suite. AOA will cost a lot more, and we'd have to upgrade the dining but he extra bathroom and theming for the little ones may be worth it for this trip. We can always stay at POR, but when do you have the chance to WOW your small children with their favorite Disney movie Characters!! Just saving up and working hard for it! Enjoy the waiting everyone....it's half the fun!

Just my observation... But with Thanksgiving coming early this year (11/22), I'm not sure where the Pop Warner tournament will fall. Traditionally, it has been the week after Thanksgiving which usually incorporated at least some of the 1st week of Decemeber. And from what I have seen, the FD offers are usually applied the week after the tournament is over.

So I am holding my breath and keeping my eyes peeled to see which comes first. The announcement of the Pop Warner tourney or (hopefully) Dec. FD.

Thanks for the response but I didnt find the answer to this: have they offer FD near Thanksgiving every year?

Here is the part I always forget how it works??

We are going Nov 25 through to Dec 9th.

if you start the dinning plan on one of the days that's clear but your day follow through to the black out days does the plan stop over that period?

what are the maximum day allowed on the plan?

As long as your check-in day is a covered free dining day, you will get free dining for your entire stay up to 14 nights.:thumbsup2

if free dining is the 2nd or 3rd day of your trip, you can change your reservation,, make days 1 and 2 into a room only reservaton, and the rest of the trip a package with the free dining.. tell them at CRO that it is a "continuing" reservation, and there is a really good chance you can keep the same room.. and, although the dining portion of the trip won't begin until the "package" begins, you can pick up your park tickets early (up to 3 days?) at guest services at a park or downtowm disney 9not your resort).

wish we had known that in dec. we were told at POP that we couldn't cause the computer would then not recognaize the Free dining portion and it would invalidate the free dining.. apparently the Cm at POP was mistaken.. we could have picked up the tickets at a park.. oh well, we went to DTD.

Hopping on board- just booked a Boardwalk Villa- Oct 27-Nov 4 fingers crossed for free dining- if history has anything to say about it I am doing the happy dance. We are planning a blow-out trip of a lifetime for our kids before they get too old and would rather go to IOA

Hello! I am hoping to get free dining in October. Question: Once they release the dates for October will it be in enough time to make reservations? I don't know much about ADR's, but from what everyone says, places get booked as soon as 180 days prior hits.

I am curious about this too, especially since I wish to do the Princess breakfast at Akershus which I know will be popular. I believe you are able to modify a reservation to have Free Dining added? If so, I will just book my late September trip and hope!

We're hoping the same, we'll be Poppin' late September for 8 days and crossin' our fingers for FD. :worship:
If we can all just get back to work, we can all go to the World again without having to hope for freebies.
