2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival *HAS ENDED*

WDW-FEST is the go-to for booking on 8/14, as they open at 7 eastern. Unless DVC opens early for booking, Member Services won't be open for booking until 9. That may be great if you are looking for less popular events as they may not get slammed at 9 like the regular lines get at 7. I'm still on the fence about the Radeberger Beer Dinner but that looks like it will be huge in capacity because they're having it in the World Showplace, so I think it can wait a little while, but I think I need to call ASAP for some of my events, like the Via Napoli beer thing.

AJ - if you were looking for Disney links, the ones in the first post are from Disney - some are saying they get cached copies from last year when they use those links though.

TDC, all of the beers poured at Germany are part of the Radeberger portfolio so chances are beers will be the same at the dinner. We will probably sign up for the Italy beer pairing despite the beers being served.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but has anyone noticed that on the main F&W page for Disney they have listed the PFTS dates? If you click on them they'll show you who is scheduled for that day!

Here's the one for October 27: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/me...d/en_us/PDF/party-for-the-senses-10-27-12.pdf

ETA: Here are the other dates...
October 6 - http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/me...ld/en_us/PDF/party-for-the-senses-10-6-12.pdf
October 13 - http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/me...d/en_us/PDF/party-for-the-senses-10-13-12.pdf
October 20 - http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/me...d/en_us/PDF/party-for-the-senses-10-20-12.pdf
November 3 - http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/me...ld/en_us/PDF/party-for-the-senses-11-3-12.pdf

Apparently the All Stars chefs are listed for the 27th. And 50s Prime Time. And Portobello. And Hollywood & Vine. Can't say I'm thrilled about that.

This is one of the most awesome things Disney has done. So I know we get Keegan Gerhard - I wondered where he would turn up.

Don't worry about the Disney chefs - they love the opportunity to break out and do their own thing, and they usually produce some of the best stuff at the parties.

Got right in to DVC MS a little after 8 AM this morning. Had a knowledgeable CM who quickly booked my Jaques Torres demo, Hope Tuesday goes as smooth with the FEST line on Tuesday!

True. I think it was a knee-jerk reaction when I saw All Stars, I guess they're not going to serve cheeseburgers and fries :rotfl:

I love these listings, too. I am really excited about the PFTS schedule for Oct 6th. :cool1:

I know they serve the beers in the pavilion but I'm up for some food paired with them too. However, I just booked one of those private wine dinners at Citricos which appears to be starting to do them like Flying Fish and Jiko, so that may be the big food thing I do this year.

I can't seem to find the site for booking events on line??? Is that an option or do we have to call in?? May be posted earlier but I can't seem to find it.
Thanks

AP/TiW/DVC/GO bookings today are only by phone.

It remains to be seen how online bookings work on Tuesday. They'll probably use the regular Disney Dining reservation site (Where to Eat / Make Dining Reservations), with the events loaded under Dining Events.

However, I wonder if the online system can handle the volume. I also wonder how they're going to handle the 100% pay-in-advance, nonrefundable nature of the events.

Already? My mom called twice and was told both times that no one can book until August 14th, even annual passholders. I read in PP's that we're not able to book until 8 so we will try again then. :confused3

What number did you call?

Since I've seen info about several glitches here, I'm kind of glad that I haven't called yet because I'm not really sure which culinary demo I want. Maybe waiting a few more days isn't so bad. I'm kind of thinking of one that I saw that's vegetarian. I'm not vegetarian, but I love cranberries and it's sponsored by Ocean Spray. Does anyone think that with all the begetarian options available, they might be easier to book?

They will handle it like they handle other events of that nature, like the Flying Fish Chef's Counter, you'll need to pay in full with a credit card for each event when you book it.

The culinary demos generally don't sell out unless the chef is a celebrity. Robert Irvine and Buddy Valastro will probably sell out early, maybe also Cat Cora and Jamie Deen.

Long time no see Tommie! Which beer pairing are you and the lovely wife thinking to attend?

Will that option be available at 7am?

From what I understand, General Adminssion for the 3D Dessert party will be able to book online so that leads me to guess that the Sweet Seats will not?

I think I want to do the Sweet Seats so maybe I'll just end up calling anyway. :crazy2:

Anyone know about the Jim Beam beverage seminars? Neither of us really like Wine but we both like whiskey. What mixed drinks the have and how the demonstration goes.

Thanks!

I have a question about the Wine Seminars and the Mixology Seminars?

I am thinking about doing a Wine Seminar. What exactly does this entail? Are you just given little glasses of wine to taste? How many and does it even total up to a full glass?

Also, we are considering the Belvedere Vodka seminar. Is that kind of the same thing? They mix a drink and then you get to have the drink? Once again, is it a full size?

Brenda! Awesome to hear from you - Via Napoli has a four course food/beer pairing on Tuesdays for $55 - here's a review someone posted from last years event at the Disney food blog - food looked good:

http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2011/...d-wine-festival-beer-and-pizza-tasting-event/

Moretti beers ehh...too bad not Baladin.

I think she wants to know which date. I'm curious myself - although I'd like to keep the personal chatter off the thread, we had complaints one year from the subscribers that they rushed over to see new postings and got a lot of personal chat. Tommie, PM me if you'd like with the date...

yes ... sorry about any confusion and for getting personal stuff mixed in. PMs sent. :goodvibes
