2012 Cruise Dates

When I asked this last week on my cruise, the rep said probably Oct/Nov if not sooner.

Do you think when they do come out they will include all of 2012 or just the first half of the year?

Im considering moving my May 2011 5 night for a May or June 2012 7 night caribbean (east or west). Im really needing a land WDW vacation this next summer!!!! and dont think I can do both next year :sad1:

Last year the released them all at once I believe

Boy I hope they bring back the 7 night eastern and western caribbean cruises!!!!
We did not discover the joy of DCL until 2 yrs ago.

The Fantasy is supposed to be ready in 2012, hoping either the Dream or Fantasy does 7 night cruises.

From what I understand (and am also hoping for) that is the plan. I would love to be able to do a 7 day Caribbean in the summer when my kids are out of school.

I'm with you all - hoping for 7 night (eastern) caribbean summer 2012 on the Fantasy.......DD will start kindergarten in the fall of 2012, so we are going to join the ranks of being slaves to the school schedule! I am going to miss off season DCL/WDW :sad1:

We are a slave to the school schedule too, dd are 12 and 16 and they absolutely loved our dcl vacation and cant wait to do it again.

I hope they release by mid oct what they are planning to do for the summer of 2012!!!

I need to make land reservations by mid Oct if we are postponing the 2011 cruise, so I hope the dates are out sooner than later.

What do you think they would do if they dont offer 7 night cruises during the summer of 2012?

Make me cry because I do not want to do BTB 3 & 4 night cruises to the Bahamas!!! :sad1:

I hope that the speculation of having the Dream do the 3,4,5 night Bahamas cruises, and the Fantasy do the 7 night cruises will truly be the case - I know there has got to be demand out there for longer cruises in the summer!!

The Dream and Fantsy are both tied to PC by contract for the first 3 years,of there service life, with a minimum number of sailings. From everything DCL has released so far, the Dream is to take over the Wonders 3/4/5s and the Fantasy will most likely get the Magics 7s. The Magic is the unknown. She can do any number of things, from running a few trips to Hi, to test the market or as a special trip(s) to doing longer and deeper carribean cruises.Traditionally its the Magic that does all of the 1 off try out cruises. After next year, I dont thnk DCL is going to be very eager to send her back to Europe for the summer.

I agree about the Wonder and Fantasy. But I think you'll see the Wonder do the 1off try out cruises on the West Coast and the Magic off the East Coast. I'm thinking Asia for the Wonder, and maybe New England/Canada for the Magic.

Why do you say that you don't think DCL is going to be very eager to send Magic back to Europe for the summer?

I was hoping they would have magic in Europe in Spring 2012 again like they did this year but a new itinerary. We did the Med cruise this spring and would do another if the itinerary was right to see other parts of Europe.

Im going by what Capt Tom told me once. Past practice of DCL is that the Magic has done the 1 offs. Shes the only ship thats been to the Pacific, and Europe.

With the Bahamas and the Carribean covered, that leaves the Magic free.(After mid 2012) The Wonder if I had to guess has the same restrictions on her as PC placed on the DCL fleet with a minumum number of sailings. DCL was looking at almost 500000 in fines for not making that minumum 2 years ago when they sent the Magic to Europe.DCL was fined 150000 before that for missing the number of sailings. The 500000 was erased by the port,as an incentive to get PC to pay the lions share of the money to upgrade the pier and terminal at PC.

With the Magic free, she can make 1 or more Panama canal runs that seem popular at the moment, to LA, make the run to HI, and still not interfere with the east or west coast operations.Thatll still leave the Wonder free to run AK, and MR.She could also come home to the east, and do the NY or a Galveton trip that is on the DCL survey lately.

At least one of the ships will be doing the Alaska itinerary as they have a 10 year contract. I would assume they will leave the Wonder on the west coast to do Alaska during the summer and MR the rest of the year. Is there is an EB PC cruise next year?

Don't forget the rumored Hawaii cruises. They will most likely be done by the Wonder too!

Nope no EB. Wonder is tied to San Pedro for 2 years I think. After that there are several extensions that can be made. They could even move the Wonder to a different port in LA or Cali.

Bob Iger was quoted that the Magic will be an Ambassador ship, at the Dream unveiling. That to me sounds more like shell still be doing the 1 offs, like Hi, NY, etc.

Assuming that all of the US homeports have the same restrictions,as far as a number of sailings per year, dont look to see the Wonder do anything other than her MRs, or Aks. If anything its the Magic thatll get Hi.
