NM - We got my mom the stair chair lift and it was the best thing we ever did.

Teena - hope you feel much better tomorrow.

Pixarmom - sounds like a great cruise! Can't wait to hear all about your October BC trip!

So sorry to hear you are under the weather Teena-hope you feel better soonpixiedust:

NM update: My Mom is out of the ICU and she is looking better. Her pain is well managed by her medications so that has done a lot to bring her back to the point where she is functioning better. On Monday night she was rushed to the hospital in respiratory distress and septic shock. We almost lost her then. Thankfully they buffed her up with the right antibiotics. They are really ramping up her radiation and chemo because the tumor in the lung is pressing against her trachea and esophagus. I can definitely tell between all these setbacks that the treatments are starting to have a positive impact on her condition. It's just that more problems keep popping up so we will just have to see.

The thing I liked the most is that she is getting feisty again with my Father. She basically laid down the law with him and told us kids that we are to get her what she needs and hand him the bill and that he has to pay it. Among his many issues is one in which he refuses to spend any money, so essential things for her care like a stair chair lift were unpurchased. I love the fact that she is now able to advocate for herself and she knows that everyone else in the family will back her up and get it done when my Dad refuses.

I cannot tell you how excited I am that she is looking better. She had that look in her eyes that really concerned me, one that you see with people who are on their way out. She's got a little of her spark back and I am over the moon about it. We hope to get her out of the hospital sometime next week and see how we make out at home again.

Thanks to everybody who is keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate it! :grouphug:

So happy to hear this! Continued thoughts and prayers for your mom, you and your family!

Not sure I'm going to make it into work the next two days. Just wanted to give you folks there now a heads up. I'm fighting kidney stones again. I'm having a procedure done next week and am on pain pills to help with the pain over the weekend. The pills aren't helping much but hopefully I'll pass the one that's giving me alot of trouble today or tonight and then I'll be able to work Sunday and Monday.

Hoping you begin to feel better soon!!

Oh no Teena!!! Feel better!

I've been an absentee BC fan. We had a great stay at Wyndham Bonnet Creek and kids are back in school. We had a terrible school year last year and I'm happy to report that this year is off to a better start!
And... Three weeks from tonight I'm running the Tower of Terror 10 mile race while staying at BCV! I arrive on 9/27 and return home 10/1. A short but fun-filled weekend! I'm hoping to see Teena (hint, hint).

I'll just be returning from our 7 night Disney cruise on the Fantasy (9/22-9/29). Can't wait to see you again!

Quick question but first...

Teena, I hope you feel better soon! I know kidney stone pain is unbearable :crazy2: I hope you get relief quickly.

NM, as always, my thoughts and prayers are with you :grouphug:

Okay, back to my question. I know I can leave my bags with bell services if my room is not ready when I check in at YC, but can anyone tell me if that room is inside and has a/c? I need to keep my son's medication at room temperature and not sure if bell services is the answer. Any advice?

Just tell bell services about the medication and they will have it stored where necessary even if it's in a refrigerator.

Definitely when there is a problem, unless you are lucky enough to find Teena, just go to the Front Desk and ask for the on duty manager and let them know the cause of your complaint.

We will be returning to BC in November and are so excited! We stayed there in 09 and had a horrible 8 night stay, not because of BC but because my 3 year old and I both got very sick:(. But I must say the CM's went above and beyond to check on us. BC has the best cm's. The next trip we tried GF and hated it, it was just not BC:). Last fall we tried to get BC and it was full and stayed at YC CL and it was very nice but just not BC. This year we are back home at BC CL. I am so excited, my DH loved the way all the CM's always said "welcome home" when we walked back in each day. My kids loved the quiet pool and the short walk to Epcot. BC is "our" hotel and we are so excited to be headed back. :dance3:

Getting ready to pack up. Jim (DH), Flat Ben & I had a lovely week. While we were gone we finally got word that we are making settlemmen t on our new home next week. Almost a year after our initial offer (short sale):sad2::cool1: So we had a great weeek relaxing, pin trading and hanging out with flat Ben. We stayed at BCV and loved the closeness to Epcot. no complaints and if the truth be told, I loved it better than the bw. :thumbsup2 The only thing we didn't like is the spotty internet and the couch isn't that comfortable :sad2:. CM's were spot on and service was great!!

Teena- hope you feel better, I hear stones are the wrost pain ever :scared:

NM - It sounds like your om has taken charge and that's wonderful news!

Cindy - leaving Ben at the desk for you. Hope he is as well behaved for you as he was for us.:flower3:

Yes, it's inside and air conditioned.

Interested in room photos and hallways photos....I know that's wierd, but although I love the overall decor of YC more than BC, I LOVE the hallways in BC with the Little Mermaid touches....what does the carpet in YC look like? I haven't been able to find it online... :goodvibes

Ok...

This shows a bit of carpet in the room. Neutral with blue accents. The blue footer bedspread has a cool rope pattern with knots shaped like Mickeys.

Similar in the hallways (I had a sloppy neighbor who left her room service outside every night rather than call to have it taken away).

Here's a lamp. The blue/white wallpaper has a blue border with a sort of nautical swirl pattern.

Here's the gift shop carpet (and my DS3 hamming it up) which Is similar to the lobby carpets. Very nautical. Lots of wood flooring in the lobby too, and brass hooks and heavy nautical rope here and there along railings.

Hope you got the sattelite noodles- I just now realized you're at YC, not BC! I was at BC, and left them w/ BC bell services on 9/2! Oh no!

Oops! No wonder I couldn't find them. Figured they'd gone wherever missing socks from the laundry go. Oh well! Thanks anyway. :-)

Thank you both so much!!! I already have a list of the first aid stations at the parks to store the daily doses but I forgot about checking in and not wanting to leave the bottle in the car.
