2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

Has anyone done the Mickey Tie Dye? Is this for younger kids? How about the ice cream making?

thanks in advance!!

I did the Mickey Tie Dye when my dd was 3 and her cousins where 5 and 7. We had a blast (lost of adult helping) and they turned out great!

Should have noted we did this at home before our trip. I realize you may be asking about doing it at the BC

In case you didn't notice: for anyone who is traveling there the last week of May or during June, they just updated the Park Hours!!! The link is on the Theme Park Strategies page.

THANK YOU!!! I was just looking at the hours last night and they were completely different from my spreadsheet I have been using to plan our trip. I thought I was going nuts haha The hours are much more extensive now then when we first looked 5 months ago.

We had no love bugs for the first part of our trip, but for late last week it was not great! I didn't notice them by the pool at all, thank God, but they were all over the BCV balcony of our family, in and on the buses, and at the bus stops.

OH NO!!!! I am not going to let it ruin my excitement but I'm a little worried because the main reason we booked the YC was due to the balconies (my agent switched us from the swan/dolphin). My husband and I are really looking forward to hanging out there at night after our son goes to sleep. Any tips on how to get rid of them :(

Hi Everyone! Getting too excited about my trip next week. I have a question about internet usage. I am reading conflicting information, on Disney's site it says wireless ( for a fee), but I am seeing posts where guests say that there is no charge. We are staying club level if that makes a difference. Thank you!

Though I don't post very much I do try to keep up with this thread...kind of hard since it moves so fast. Just wanted to say thank you to those who spend time keeping everything so up to date and making this thread a great place to hang out. I've yet to come across a thread with such friendly and helpful posters!

Our BC stay is 100 days from today and I feel like I know the place inside & out without ever staying there! :hyper:

There used to be a fee for wireless service. It is now provided for free in the YC/BC rooms. I have heard mixed reviews on how reliable it is, especially when multiple devices are being used at the same time.

Feckless seemed to do ok with it last week, so she may have some input.

I know free wireless is now available in most, if not all of the Disney resorts.

These are usually not available until the very end of May or most likely the first couple of days in June. I post the schedules as soon as I get them, but I have to wait until someone provides them to me.

I have no idea! I have to assume that the vending machines sell the proper detergent for the washers. As far as The Marketplace and the language about "regular detergent" being for sale-I think I inherited that info, so I don't know exactly what it means. Do the villas (not the villa laundry room) have regular or HE machines?

Anyone know what kind of detergent is sold at the Marketplace?

I haven't gone over to the Marketplace picture thread to see if you can see what is sold there.

I zoomed in on my Marketplace photo from May 2011 and found small boxes of Tide, some tide stain sticks, some Shout and some bounce sheets. I zoomed in on my laundry room photos, but can't see anything there.

Also, someone asked for BC Marketplace pastries a while ago and I know Dee posted a few 2010 photos. I have an additional photo from last year to add:

The washers in the 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom villas at BCV are regular machines, not HE.

The washers in the BCV villa laundry room are HE. There was a sign in there telling you not to use as much detergent as you normally would. I can't remember the exact wording. I didn't pay attention to the vending machine because I had purchased a bottle of laundry detergent at Walgreens on the way to the hotel. We had Tiffany Towncar stop there instead of a grocery store. I didn't take a picture of the sign or the vending machine. (Shame on me.)

I've never been in the Beach Club laundry room, so I don't know about those washers, or what they have in the vending machines.

And I've never bought laundry detergent in the Beach Club Marketplace.

free but very slow. we ended up using 4g/3g from our mobile phones rather than ipad because of the slow connectivity.

We are staying club level and would like to know what pool accessories for better word might be available? Are their noodles, beach balls, or diving things available? We normally make a Target stop for these items but just wondered if maybe we don't need to this time? It's our 1st stay club level :goodvibes

This is interesting during our stay back when it was in test phase it seemed okay but now that it's generally offered I wonder if that is slowing the connection?

Stopping in to say bye: our plane leaves @ 7:45 tomarrow! Should be @ the YC by 11:30. :cool1:

Have a wonderful time!!!!!!!!! I'm sure you will love the YC - enjoy that full balcony :cloud9:

I think I would word a request "Close to the lobby elevator" Do you care about a full balcony or is the location more important?

Thanks, Dee! I actually want to be near that elevator, the balcony is much less important. I loved being able to zip down to the marketplace so quickly whenever I wanted.

The balcony with the love bugs was at the BCV. Ours was fine. DHs cousin left a Sprite out there and when she came back hours later it was covered in bugs. So don't do that and you'll be ok! I stressed about them too - don't worry. You will still enjoy your balcony time.

As Dee said, there is free WiFi. I found the only tiny issue was that if you left your device for a moment you had to sign back on. I found the speed awesome. I even streamed Netflix on my iPad with no issue whatsoever.

CL doesn't provide pool toys. The only ones that I believe are permitted at SAB are noodles. I've seen kids with beach balls, etc. in the quiet pools though. With SAB there is so much going on the kids never missed any toys! You'll love CL! Have a great trip!

We overlap! Hubby and I are at YC Oct. 27-Nov. 3. Can't wait for Halloween and F&W! And we'll be celebrating 10 years together.

And don't fret about 30. My 30's were great. That's when I met hubby and married him. ;)

Congratulations on 10 years!! :) What a wonderful way to celebrate!

I'm very excited to go for Halloween, my fav holiday :) A LITTLE nervous about going solo, never done that before, but I think once I get there I'll be just fine :thumbsup2

I can't believe I have 19 days until I see the Mouse and celebrate our 10th anniversary and my DH's 40th birthday!!!:cool1: I have so much to do at work-end of the year special education paperwork, and so much to do at home-2 birthdays and a kindergarten graduation. And since we aren't taking the kids, I have to prepare their things for grandma's house. I can't believe I decided to leave the day after school got out. :confused3

Anyway, thank you so much for this board. I feel like I can answer most questions after reading everything. I am a few days behind on reading though. easy wdw dot com posted new hours for June so now I can finalize my own plans. :yay: I am planning on relaxing on a WDW trip instead of spending every minute in the parks. Thanks to this board, I won't feel guilty about it either. After all, I am paying a lot more than I normally would just so I can go back and relax!!

Now for my question. My husband wants to bring his Apple TV adapter to hook the IPAD up to the TV so we can watch movies. Do you know if the Yacht Club rooms have HDMI cables?

Thanks.

Thank you so much Feckless, what would I do without you during this planning process lol
