2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

So my family and I are leaving for BC in less than 2 months!! We have never gone in May before so any pointers about Disney in May?

Disney in May is awesome. Perfect weather...crowds (except Mother's Day) aren't too bad. Flower and Garden Festival at the beginning of May and Star Wars at the end. I love going in the spring!

I am so excited to be staying at the Beach Club! It will be my daughter's 10th birthday trip so we let her pick where to stay. She went online on her ipod touch and decided on the beach club. I have stayed at the Yacht but the rest of the family has not. I know they are going to love it.

My husband and I are also going to stay there for the wine and dine 1/2 marathon in Nov.

I am very very excited!!! :cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

Can't believe I didn't realize Flower and Garden was going on while we are there! While food and wine is more my thing, im sure Epcot will look awesome!

I just checked Amazon it looks like it may be hard to come by now, but what a great concept. I may put something together that is similar, thanks so much!

The book is sold from its own website. Just google "guise to the magic." My kids really enjoyed the books last year.

I was surprised by the Flower and Garden Festival and it was so beautiful in Epcot! I really wish I took more time to take in all the flowers... guess it's just an excuse to go back in the spring one year :rolleyes1

Just think of the Flower and Garden festival as more like 'Wine and Vine'....

I haven't been focusing on my August BC trip very much because we have so much going on between now and then!
We did make our 180 day ADRs and I'm excited that we're trying Cape May Cafe for dinner on our arrival day. We had breakfast there once before but never dinner. I read some really good reviews, too!
We're also trying the Chef's Table at Flying Fish for our date night out (we always get Kids Nite Out for one night of the trip so Tom and I can be "grown ups."). Most of the rest of the meals are in Epcot, with the exception of Bluezoo (which somehow became my 6 year old's favorite restaurant :confused3 ).

Your dining plans sound great! So are you skipping sitdown lunches for this trip???

I think between us all we could write our own guide!!!!!
You should -it would be a best-seller instantly!
I know I would buy it!
Me too!
Haven't we? For the Beach Club/Yacht Club, anyway!
You certainly have:thumbsup2

I hope you're going to do a trip report? Please do (pretty please) because I've loved reading your others. Are you going to just do 1 sit down meal at night this time and wing it at lunch to see if that works better? Just curious because thats what we do even though I'd love to try the Plaza I love my glass of wine with my husband at night and somehow 2 sit down meals in a day is too much for our family.

:lmao:

I'm considering drinking my way through WS! In a proper and sensible manner of course. ;)

Yes, I'll be starting on the plane out of New Orleans!!!

I received 4 drink tickets from Southwest a couple of weeks ago. And being the person I am, we wouldn't want them to be wasted.............we don't have to drive to the resort...........so bring it on!!!!

Funny story about drinking your way through WS (at least it's funny now - then not so much). When we did our Grand Gathering in 2008 my ds was 22 and thought it would be great to do the "drinking around the world" at EPCOT. Unfortunately the day he decided to do it was also the same day as we were having our Family Gathering pictures done with the private photopass photographer. We did the pictures at 6 pm - get the picture. ALthough you can't tell in the pictures I think my older ds was practically holding up the 22 year old ds. He has a really silly grin in all the pictures while I have a "forced fake" smile in these pictures.

We still kid him about it. Of course he said he wouldn't have picked the drinking around the world the same days as the family pictures except that I had them on such a strict schedule that it was the only day he had a full EPCOT day!

Better luck with your drinking around the world adventure!

:cutie: So young yet so wise. :cutie: It took many years for me to aquire that perspective.

:stir: Ahhh. The things us Disney schedulers have to work in. :stir:
