DD apologized for our skin tone in the last one. She said we look like we were on the Real Housewives because we were orange! OMG don't know where she saw that show but LOL!

And just to let you know how much we will appreciate the heat, here's a pic a guy I know took last week, in my mom's hometown:

Ok done now! Can you tell I can't sleep???

Springsteen concerts are a bit of a joke around our house.....when I was pregnant with DD8, Bruce was playing PNC park in Pittsburgh on August 6th. I was due on August 16th, but knew better than to get tickets....guess what, DD8 was born on August 6th. Fast foward 4 years until I'm pregnant with DS4. Bruce was playing Pittsburgh on November 14th, but my due date was November 24th. Anytime anyone asked when I was having the baby, I told them November 14th because Bruce was in concert that day...ha ha ha. Guess when my water broke....midnight on the 14th. Yep, I was in the hospital with my 2nd child when the concert was going on. It was the joke that if Bruce was in town, I was having a baby.

Now that we're done with having children, I might consider trying to get to see him one of these days!

Lol
:lmao: :lmao:

Dee -so glad you had a great vacation. Your pics look so amazing and I'm with you about havibg that feeling like you were rising off the slide. I'm not a fan of it either.

Teena-so glad your cruise went well. Loved your towel animals.

Sorry for the late responses I fell behind in my BC reading.

Robyn - glad your mom is doing better.

All this talk of ME and how long it takes to get the YC/BC has me wondering...we'll be renting a car, how long will it take us to drive there from MCO?

And do we need a lunch ADR at Captain's Grille? That's where we planned on dining for lunch the day we arrive, but I was thinking maybe we didn't need an ADR - just in case our flight is delayed or something.

I *think* it's about a 45 minute drive.
And I doubt you'll need lunch ADRs.

Amanda

Those are adorable! Love the sleeping Mickey with his little curly tail peeking out from the covers. Very artistic!

And the "Mickey Rejects" are hilarious!

You have very creative kids.

Awwwh, thanks! I didn't notice the tail. LOL

We'll be staying at BCV Oct 6 - 13.

Our Waitlist came through a few days ago. We're so excited! It's our 2nd BCV visit. The first was Oct 2010. We're feeling very fortunate to have the chance to stay again.

SAB and Epcot, here we come! :)

Which side would be better for 2 teenagers the Beach or Yacht? where do you refill the mugs at either resort

Have you checked out page one of this thread yet? There is some very good information on where you can refill the mugs at for either the BC or the YC. In fact, it was reprinted just a few (?) pages ago, but I'd go to page one to find it faster.

As far as where to stay for two teenagers, I have to ask, does it really matter? They won't be in the room much (if at all). Both BC and YC are equal distant to SAB as well as to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. To get to Boardwalk you go left our of BC or right out of YC and in a few steps you are there. So I would look for price of room as my main concern for choosing either. Just my thoughts.

Only 24 days until we fly to our favourite place on earth:banana:I'm so excited i can't sleep, think, or eat.
Its the BIG Disney reveal tomorrow, i don't know how we've kept it a secret, its been nearly a year since we booked, they will be soooo happy they are going back to the YC, but i have a few final questions.
1) We transfer from The Dark Side early in the morning and plan to hit Star Wars Weekend with Si-Fi booked for 4pm, then heading over to The Contemporary for the Pirate Cruise, so will we be able to get our room assigned when we arrive about 10am(i know it won't be ready)?

2)Has anyone got a fax or phone number i can use once I'm in Orlando so i can send over my room request. I read on Allears its best to fax over requests about 4 days out. TIA:goodvibes

That's it exactly! Not shorter, or quicker, but more enjoyable.

When I proposed this transportation route to my husband, he declared me a "genius". In the rare occasions when I elicit that kind of response from him, I go with it!
:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes.
Things are definitely looking up and improving with my mom. Of course nobody knows why this happened but she seems to be doing a lot better and they are checking into side effects from all the medications she is taking.

Dee - have you found out where you are staying with your class trip yet?

90 days until we leave!!!!

Believe me - I can't wait to be sitting by SAB.

To everyone who is leaving soon - Have a magical trip!!!!!

So glad to hear your mum is doing better:)

They are both equal in our opinion.....because they are really never just hanging out in the lobby. We stayed YC with a 13 year old in 2010 and loved it. We stayed BC with a 19 year old and a 14 year old in 2011 and loved it!!! I think they preferred BC because it was closer to the Marketplace and EPCOT (they love world showcase), but other than that it's a toss up for them.

We preferred BC for the more active Lobby, less mileage on the legs from EPCOT and it's easier to say hello to Teena!!

enjoy your trip!!!

Feckless Tell your daughter how much I loved the Mouse sleeping!!!

she did a great job on those......I am sure mousekeeping will love them.

Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes.

Best news I've heard today. :flower3:

eandesmom did the Illuminations cruise and wrote about it in her trip report
Dr. Jones and the Spitting Camel

It's been years since we did the Illumination Cruise but way back when, the boats parked right under that bridge. First we went for a spin around Crescent Lake and then parked for Illuminations (except it wasn't Illuminations then :lmao: ). We really enjoyed it but I liked the fireworks cruise for MK a bit more. I know our skipper brought soft drinks and I think we brought champagne but it was so many years ago that both things may have changed. Have fun!! :cool1:

We did our first Illuminations cruise from the YC/BC marina last July. We had dinner at Captain's Grille prior and with such a large group (10 of us) it took a little longer so our voyage was modified a bit.

We started with a cruise around the YC/BC, BW......

....Glad we did it at least once. We go often and like to try to do something new each time we do so this was last year's "thing." Have fun!

I really can't add much more then what was already posted but just wanted to say we went on it two years ago and I really enjoyed it. :) We actually joined up with a group I found on the illumination share thread. The people we shared with were great fun and we all ended up going to Jellyrolls afterwards. Which was also a fun time. :)

Thanks so much for all the great info, everyone! We do try to plan at least one "special" thing on each trip - and this year we thought we'd try a cruise. Now it makes sense on the timing, etc, and I'm really excited!

Just need to pray to the rain gods....

Hopefully the links work, if not if you do a search with "Illuminations cruise" you should find the thread and maybe even more options.

Awesome, thanks!:thumbsup2

Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes.

Robyn, this is wonderful news to hear! Your mom, you, and your family continue to remain in our thoughts and prayers.:goodvibes

Thanks! If we do go to DTD for lunch, we will probably take a cab back to the YC afterwards. But it's not easy to find one at TL to get to DTD -- I remember waiting for the buses to get to TL last time (and it was quite a wait...)

We did this last year, Spa at Saratoga Springs - Bus to DTD for lunch - Cab back to YC. The only thing is that cabs (at least during the middle of the day) are somewhat hard to come by. You can get one, but you'll have to walk down past Planet Hollywood / Movie Theater to get to the "cab stand" (really just a row of cabs parked in the lot).

We will have 3 day park hoppers. We won't be visiting a theme park on the first day of the trip (pool time and pizza party) or the day we are leaving.

I haven't been following the Starbucks news to know how soon and where they are going to be in the parks, I just know they are coming.

I believe there is a coffee stand in one of the world showcase countries (maybe near UK) that sells a decent cup of coffee. It may be a cash/credit (not room charge) only stand, though, and would require that park admission to EPCOT.

First off Dee, glad you're getting at least a little bit more info on the trip! 3 day park hoppers though....hmmm....wonder what that touring plan is going to look like?

For the OP who asked about the coffee in the parks, I can vouch for the following:
  • Starbucks via packs - I bring these and little creamers on all our trips, just in case.
  • Kona Coffee in Poly - the best? no. But noticeably better.
  • any restaurant w/ French Press (from our experience, BdP, V&A, CG)
  • The cart Dee is referring to is between UK and Canada in WS. It is open in the mornings as you walk through the IG entrance to Epcot. They do espresso and cappuccino along with other iced coffee drinks. I'm not saying they use Illy, but it's still pretty good coffee.

That just made my morning, between the Mickey Rejects (adorable) and the Real Housewives comment. I remember one family New Years party where the majority of the guests were downstairs in the karaoke room (yes, my family is crazy, they have a full club build in the basement....) and I came upstairs to grab something from the kitchen...all my nephews and nieces are sitting on the couch....watching JAWS. (they range in age from 5-9)

First thought - oh #@%!.

Second thought - wow, that movie is dated.

I went over to turn it off and the kids started in on "Aunt Jen! Come look at the big evil plastic fish!"

I love kids.;)

Well, I'm off to make yet ANOTHER phone call to someone with my new credit card information. Remember that breach awhile back? Yeah, my number was compromised, so they're sending a new card. Even better? Someone created a card with my number and has been trying to use it in CA for the past few days. So now ALL my bank numbers are changing.

Ugh.:headache:

Ah well, on the bright side, they caught it.:confused3

I have a teenage daughter and she prefers BC over YC. She likes the decor and says she feels happier there. The mugs are filled at the Marketplace at BC.

So after many many changes.....I will be at Beach club in less than 1 month....dee I am still on the guest list for YC :lmao:

We are coming from Sea world on May 27th and staying until June 3rd :cool1: There will be 8 off us total...MIL is hitchhiking this trip. so we have a Deluxe room for me, DH, and 3 girls and MIL & my 2 sons will be in a Standard CL room. My DD will have her 6th Bday on May 28th....cake party :yay: And Teena if you're there...I'll bring the Tastycakes :goodvibes

Thanks EVERYONE for your comments! :) And what a total PITA for you to have to change your numbers, but glad the bank appears to be on top of it.
