I just read on another website that 2012 is a anniverary year for the Mickey. Is this correct? If so what anniverary?
Thanks

Actually 2013 is Mickey's 20th anniversary. Same year as the 5th Princess.
The first WDW Marathon was January 1994 - so wouldn't that make it 2014 for the 20th Anniversary?![]()
The 15th anniversary was 2008 so 2013 is the 20th. It is the 20th running including the first which us usually how races celebrate as opposed to anniversaries in the wedding anniversary sense of the term.
Back to the half comment, for some reason Disney hasn't done anything to celebrate the milestone halfs.
Actually they did do a 5th anniversary in 2002 - but did skip the 10th. I thought it was due to no 'perfect 10' half runners but apparently there were a few - one on this board I believe. Anyway, the fastest a race has ever sold out was the 2002 half which sold out in less than 2 weeks.

I guess I hadn't realized that they did anything in 2002 for the half since that was the first year I moved up to do the full.
As for the 10th, that was the first year of Goofy and the way I've heard it was that Disney was putting so much time and effort into separating the full and half into 2 separate days and the popularity of Goofy that the 10th anniversary of the half was simply forgotten/overlooked.

I would expect a 15th based on the uncomfortable wink-wink I got from the runDisney folks in Houston last month.
We'll see
