Correct, but they will do whatever they can to keep you from switching. You just need to link the reservations and remind them at check in that you have another stay. The easiest thing to do would be to pack an overnight bag for the first night. That way, the rest of your luggage can remain untouched in case you have to move rooms.

Thanks. Much to my TA's annoyance, I changed check in from Nov 10-15 to Nov 11-16. We can get cheaper flights on the 16th anyway, so even if we don't get free dining, it makes sense.

I called Disney and I don't have a PIN on my account, but he updated my informaton and said that often triggers the marketing department to send something. He also mentioned that while he can't promise the NOV free dining will be available to the public, that they do generally offer the PINS as a test before releasing a broad offer, so I'm hopeful.

Not a dvc thing. I didn't get the pin code in my email but I called to see if there were any pins on my name and I had it

We have only gone once. Oct. 2009. I don't think she asked me but when you call in the machine does. Something like have you been to Disney since 2008?

We got the same PIN! Well, my sister got the PIN in her email but she is traveling with us so !

The deal is that as long as you check in during the window, the free dining will apply for your entire stay.

Free dining was available in 2012, I believe. If you check out Mousesavers, they have historical data for when FD was released each year and there were dates in Oct/Nov.
