Glad you had a great trip!!! Thanks for the review.

How is your cat?

Kitty is doing fine, Thank you for asking. We came home right after the freak snow storm so I wasnt able to contact the vet. They had issues, our house was ok.

A friend who is a vet tech suggested we try treating him with this special food for a month and see if the stones get smaller and if not we can do the surgery. He is such a picky eater though. We may just decide to do the surgery. I have to give the vet a call today to see what she suggests. I will keep you posted. :)

Thanks! That's what it looked like to me in pictures I have seen.

this is the only picture I have of it... not a very good one but you can see it.

Hello everyone,

We got home on Halloween and since we are back in our groove I figured I would write a little something.

WE LOVE BEACH CLUB. WE NEVER WANT TO GO TO ANOTHER RESORT AGAIN!!

Thanks to the boards I felt so comfortable at the Beach Club, it was like I had stayed there before. I knew about so much.

Kind of spoils you doesn't it!!!!

My family won't even talk about other resorts anymore. Each time we start planning a trip, I'll say ---------"Maybe we want to try a MK resort this year", and WAMMY, they stop me before I can explain any further!! ( I of course don't want to either, but I ask them to make sure!!)

Welcome back to reality... now you can start planning the next trip:thumbsup2

Has anyone heard from our very own "Professional Traveler"? I do hope she is enjoying her cruise!!!

I hope you get to check out the YC in April :)

Thanks! My research suggests that it isn't looking too promising. It's not Easter weekend, but close enough that our chances of a gp discount are slim.

So we booked POFQ and will be on "code watch" for the next several months. It's been a long time since we've stayed in a moderate, and I know it will be a change from our 2011 stays (BCx2/Poly/BWI/AKL/Dolphin!) But the price - which is rack rate - is right, and I'm interested in trying POFQ just to compare with other moderates. I'm a little concerned about POFQ, but I'll take my own advice and remember that it's about establishing realistic expectations and then just enjoying! I think Sue and others have POFQ experience - I'd love to hear from you!

In any event, we know we'll be back in 2013 (as part of the crazy split stay trip!)

Since we could walk to Epcot we spent so much extra time there and got to sample so many offerings. It was great not having to be on a bus for so much of our vacation.

Thanks so much for your review! You listed so many of the things we love about BC - especially walking to Epcot and reducing bus time!

I guess I can't get too depressed, I brought home a wonderful souvenir- I am now a DVC member!!!:cloud9:

Congrats!! I did that 2 years ago and I love it!!!

I think Sue and others have POFQ experience - I'd love to hear from you!

I've never stayed at POFQ but I have stayed at POR... I love that resort! Reminds me so much of down south and home!

Whew! Finally caught up. My sympathies to those with all the snow and lost power:scared1: Nanette Glad you made it through The Move. MM thanks for the laughs and the great photography advice. Congratulations to all who enjoyed a recent trip, are having fun in the world right now or eagerly anticipating an upcoming trip. The BC rocks!

I've had the post Disney blues this week, having returned Oct 30.

That first paragraph has to be the best thread summary ever... :lmao:

I'm sorry to hear of your inevitable post trip depression but just remember this: You can still tune in to the YC/BC thread and keep informed of our latest (mis) adventures and all the relevant BC/YC chat.

Cliff hangers like "WHERE IS THE CONSTRUCTION NOW AND WILL IT RUIN MY TRIP?? will be discussed as well as Does the BC/YC have __________ ? (you get to fill in the blank!!) We'll also talk about the pros and cons of Bunion surgery and whether or not the cheese on the breakfast sandwiches is American, Swiss, or some god awful abomination of poly sorbate 80. The coffee maker chat is slowing down so I vote we start to obsess about resort irons, after all, everyone irons their clothes while on vacation, the question is "Are the bedspreads up to the ironing challenge?" Yeah sure, we'll get the usual questions like what time does the pool close when ice forms on the pool deck or how far is the walk to Magic Kingdom but can you really live without your daily dose of BC/YC happenings?

ROTFLMAO!!!!

You know, I come on here and read to get my daily DOSE from you and the BC/YC gang, MM! :rotfl2:

But never fear, I'm sure the next topic will "appear" from somewhere! :lmao:

We stayed at POFQ and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The food court is great with just the right amount of size/selection and I just LOVE that boat to DTD. If you can, ditch the kids and hubby run like heck and jump on that boat for some ME TIME shopping ALL ALONE at DTD!!! The pool, while no Storm Along Bay, is very nice and does the job for the kids. Request building 4 ground floor, which is closest to the food court and bus stop, although none of the other buildings are terribly far away. Smaller size has it's advantages, especially at Disney with it's GIANT resorts (POR, CS). You won't be missing anything at POFQ except the aggravation of the thundering herds.

Oh, and the buses were great too!

~MM

Oh, and while you're at DTD ALONE be sure to stop in one of those fancy restaurants and treat yourself to a hot lunch. What's that? With having a kids and a husband you haven't had a hot meal in ages? I know, I know.... well, just order something good and don't forget to add one of those big, expensive, fruity drinks in a giant fish bowl sized party glass. As soon as your server realizes you are a Mom who 'Escaped' from the hubby and kids she'll have the bartender make your party fish bowl drink with 151 rum... and lots of it!

My DH said he doesnt know how we would handle another resort. This one was just perfect. I sure hope we get a discount again, dont know if we could swing it otherwise...

reality stinks :)

I just had to share, doing the happy dance :dance3:, just booked our airfare on JetBlue for our May trip $218 rt and next Friday is ADR day, then only 6 months to go!! :dance3:

My daughter Sarah and I stayed at POFQ and absolutely loved it! Our room was a perfect size for the 2 of us and our room was not far from the boat access that takes you to downtown Disney. We didn't even have any major issues with transportation as it was fairly good from what I remember and also a short walk from our room. Our location was on upper floor which was really the only draw back because we lugged all luggage up ourselves not fun. Everyone was super nice and accomdating and I must say the room we had was in great shape too. Granted this was several years ago. Check out my webshots pics and go to album labeled Sarah's College Visit/WDW Trip August 2006- its right in my signature for a peek at our pics. Really looking forward to our 1st Beach Club stay!! :)

Where does an escapee go when vacationing at BC? And wth is a bunion - will non bunion sporters feel left out of the BC bunion chat?

Savoring my last Grand Cayman naptime and starting to think about my 12 hour flights home/traveling alone with a 3 and 4 year old. Looking at my BC countdown ticker might help ease the terror. :rolleyes1

4 more days:banana::yay::dance3::woohoo::cheer2:

We really need to get away- we've had my DH's 2 aunts pass away and my cousin pass away all in a 2 week time frame. When we get back he has probate court to worry about (he is executor to one of the aunts estates). When this is done we will need the vacation in May!!!!

When we were at POFQ in Sept. 2008, we used the elevators to get upstairs, but we were in building 5 which is furthest from the central pool/lobby area, so we had to wheel them quite aways to get to/from building 5 (we arrived after bell services were closed and left before they opened.) Very pleasant resort, loved the boat to downtown Disney. We were in riverview rooms, but as there are no balconies, not quite the perk as it would be at a resort with balconies. Perhaps because it was a slow time of year my recollection is that we always stopped at POR on our way to and from places. They were building the THV for SSR along the river and that was pretty cool to watch from the DTD boat. You must have the beignets if you stay there. We never ate at the food court, although we grabbed snacks to take back to the room. The hot tub was nice, a bit crowded, a few unruly teens and not enough towels on respective nights, but on the whole a pleasant, laid back trip.
And, as always a shameless post to see ticker - WDW site last night said my vacation was 78 days away but I think I'm 34 days away (it seems to always be crazy wrong) - and the DME tags arrived last thurs.

pofq is are normal vacation spot. Now with being DVC owners we will be staying at BCV and OKW for the first time. POFQ love the food court, the smallness of the whole area, the boat and you can legally pool hop to PORiverside. It is a great alternative to BC/YC.

I too check in to get by daily laughs!:banana::banana:

Look one month till I leave KY.So excited!!!:cool1::banana::cool1:

We are back from 7 nights at the yacht club. We originally were suppose to stay at the beach club but unfortunately we had 2 rooms changes while we were there and each room was unacceptable the first room was not cleaned by mousekeeping and the other room was completely run down with a toilet bowl seat cover falling off the hinges, mold and rust in the bathroom, wall paper pealing off the walls and filthy balcony among other things. It was unfortunate because I have been dreaming about staying at the beach club for over a year now and never had problems with it in the past. the outcome was we were moved next door to the yacht club. while the room was significantly better than the first two at the beach club overall we found that each resort needs renovations. Despite our issues with the room all staff members we encountered at yacht and beach club during this situation were extremely pleasant and obliging to help us anyway they could.

on the bright side we had a wonderful vacation and I got to hug Teena each morning in the lobby..bonus!! The new credit card dining policy turned out to work in our favor this trip. We were able to get walk up and last minute reservations to such places as ohanas, and cape may cafe to name a few. We loved the wild africa trek and seriously enjoyed the french regional lunch at bistro de paris. the dessert they served there was the best dessert i ever had in my life!!! We did not have a bad meal at any of the restaurants in fact I found the food to overall be better. We found the mnsshp on halloween night to be quite empty which we were surprised by and double bonus i had the pleasure of being one of the few guests who got to meet interactive mickey that night..which hands down was the best experience of the whole trip simply magical and i cant wait for you all to experience it its truly something else. mickey mouse said my name it was beyond cooll!!!

the other issue we had was the buses. after an hour and 35 minute trip from the yacht club to get to typhoon lagoon we did cab it the rest of our vacation the handful of times we needed to go somewhere other than nearby. during that 1.5 hour trip the bus did stop at the beach club, yacht club, boardwalk swan and dolphin. regardless of the time of year, how slow it is etc I think its unacceptable for a deluxe resort to be sharing the same bus line with 4 other resorts. If i ever stayed at the boardwalk i would be seriously annoyed that the hotel bus shares buses with 2 non disney resorts.

we leave in 6 months and will be staying at the beach club villas. For anyone who has stayed there as of late are the rooms well maintained have you had any issues. Sorry just a little concerned now after what happened this past trip.

Wow - thanks for all the POFQ advice! Always good to hear about another resort here, from fellow BC fans!

Nanette, good to know you love the sister resort!

MM, no running off for me - husband and two older boys are heading out from the beach earlier in the week, so it's just our 4-year-old and me! POFQ is just a quick pre-flight stay on the way to the airport at the end of the week. Although with just two of us, a 1-day base ticket is relatively inexpensive and I could get to WDW by RD the day before the flight . . .

sndral, great point about the view and good to know about the elevators. I was considering upgrading from standard and then I remembered - no balcony. I will definitely get a benignet!!! WDW site seems really messed up with the tickers - mine still says I'm going to be at BWI in 6 days (and that was in August!)

Divaofdisney, thanks so much! With just two of us left at the end of our beach week, I think I'll ask for a non-ground floor room, but I'll be prepared for the stairs and pack accordingly! Going to check out your photos now . . .

Heather, thanks! Small is really good for this stay and it's always great to have access to another pool!
