I hope they sell the gingerbread house kits again this year. If they do, everybody needs to get them fast. They sell out all the time.

Hi Teena,

When if they do will the gingerbread houses be available?? Do you happen to know?? I was hoping to get two when we are there 11/17-11/27/11.

Usually when the carousel goes up, they start selling the houses, shingles and kits, at least in the past that's the way it worked. You can usually buy them in the Marketplace and at night they had a little shop in the lobby.

Checking in!

Thanks for the concern, friends. We had about 3 inches here, and our house didn't lose power. A lot of our town went dark last night around 10 and some still don't have power. Thankfully, we will be able to watch the Pats game at 4:15 and maybe invite over some friends if they need to come!!!

Heard one town in Mass got over 20 inches. This is crazy!!!

oh my goodness! I am so not ready for that weather yet! Hopefully it melts soon for you and thank goodness you still have power :)

We are in North West N.J. and we are the big "winners" in the snow department: 18":scared1: We are quite lucky compared to others in the same town, all our trees are still standing and we have power! Trick or treating should be interesting tomorrow in the snow, will make for great pictures (and great stories for my boys to tell their kids someday:thumbsup2)
As I was digging myself out this morning I kept telling myself only 25 more days and I'll be at the Beach Club;)
Laurie:goodvibes
lol well that's definitely looking at the bright side of things :) Glad to hear you still have your trees and power!

This will be our first stay at the Beach Club. I love the Epcot area and I have a feeling it won't be our last stay!!!!!

:woohoo::woohoo: It will be our first as well...first of many I hope!

We're heeeeere! We checked in yesterday and I'm posting now from my iPad with my snoozing DD beside me.
Great first full day at the World! I'll be back to post more as I can!

Yikes sorry to hear of the musty smelling room. Thankfully they were able to accomidate you, even though you didn't quite get what you wanted in your new room. Hope you have a great trip! Can't wait to hear updates!

:banana::banana::banana::banana:Tomorrow is ADR day!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

That is all :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

We aren't doing the dining plan but have finally decided on our sit downs. We will be there 10 days, 9 nights.

Akershaus on arrival night for DD's birthday dinner.
50's Prime Time dinner on our DHS day.
'Ohana dinner on my birthday
Tusker House late breakfast on AK day.
Cape May Cafe breakfast on a resort/DTD day
Crystal Palace (crossing fingers at an 8:05 ressie) for one of our MK days.

DH and I are going to sit down tonight and plan some others. I may end up cancelling some, but I would like to have some more planned.

Greetings from another NW Jerseyan who had their a** handed to them by Mother Nature! We got about 14 inches where I live. Where are you? All of this crummy weather has me loving the fact that we just bought DVC. I'm making plans for our next trip tonight!

I've been comparing Touring, wdweasy crowd calendars and disney's May 2012 park hours (thank you Mickey T for this one!!!) and now I'm totally confused. So I'm asking all you disney wise ones for help. Do you or don't you do early and/or late magic hours? I read and was planning on avoiding the parks with early morning extra hours, but was planning on doing MK and Epcot extra night hours. Now according to Touring it doesn't make a difference, example MK night hours are a 4.9 crowd level for that day and recommended as a good park, where as wdweasy it is a park to avoid. Now I'm not a nite owl, but since the parks close around 9, I thought it would be fun to "stay out late" a couple of nights and enjoy MK and Epcot late nights.

Any help from you guys is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!!

I think it may be one of those personal preference things. If you are not a morning person, you probably wouldn't like getting up early but I enjoy the AM EMH because you have the sense that you accomplished something. I love the feel of the fresh Florida sunshine rising in the AM and shining down on everything - these seems so bright and fresh, especially walking down Main Street at MK. Nothing beats it!

We also have enjoyed evening EMH this year. I was astonished at how many people were there after midnight and how long the lines were that time of night. We waited for almost 30 minutes to see Mickey at 11:30pm - It was my youngest's 5th birthday and he wanted to see him on his birthday. We had other things scheduled that day but went to MK after dinner that night so he could have his wish. I never thought we would need to wait in line for Mickey at that time of night. We waited on purpose to see him until we were on our way out that night-should have gotten in line earlier! The kids like being at the parks at night so I like the EMH for that experience. We actually went to MK on the night that we arrived and stayed until 2am- I think the electrical parade that night was at 11 or 11:30. It does seem like the crowds were less for that then they were when that parade was scheduled earlier in the evening.

I guess we had fun either way!

Just thought I'd checkin from the "Blackout of 2011". We lost power yesterday afternoon and it is not expected to be back until Tuesday night. We went to my in laws who had power last night (they live 40 mins away when not driving around downed tree branches) we got there and they had... no power! Stayed awhile, and decided they didn't need more people there. My husband did start their wood stove for them so they would at least have heat. Decided to reserve a hotel, couldn't find any rooms. Finally found a room, was told by the central reservation person that they had power, got there and guess what??? No power!

So, we went to the movies and came back home. I'm posting this from my MAC on dwindling battery using my iPhone as a hotspot. I can see my breath in the light of my computer, while I sit in my chilly living room. Just doesn't get any better than this... Not one bit better! Oh wait yes it does!!! I have a visit from that special Aunt, a UTI, and my kid feels like she's gonna throw up. Oh yeah, this day will go down as one to remember. The Blackout of 2011!!!! :rotfl:

Have a great night everyone! I'll check in again when I can! :scared1:

oh my goodness that's awful :( I cannot imagine how cold you are. Sorry to hear that everyone around you is losing power too! Stay safe and I hope they are able to get your power back up and running soon (and relief of all your other, ahem, ailments) and that your daughter feels better

Spending Christmas at the BC for the first time. Are the Christmas decorations up to par with the WL and GF?

My favorite time of year to visit WDW is the Christmas holiday season. The gingerbread house at the GF is a must see and is by far (IMHO) the top of the line when it comes to the decorations there at the World. The CR use to do a very nice display but last year they really downsized, not really worth the effort if it's out of your way. The grandness of the WL and the large tree and decorations in the lobby are nice to see but really not a place I would go unless I was having dinner there simply because it is so out of the way. However, the carousel in the BC lobby and the train display in the YC lobby are worth the effort to get to and you definately will spend time looking at them. They really are something worthwhile to see. Did you know there is also a gingerbread house over at the American Pavillion in the Epcot WS? Not as grand as the one at the GF but still impressive. Then of course you have the main trees in each one of the parks that have interesting decorations along with all the smaller trees throughout the parks that are also decorated (love the trees over by the Finding Nemo show in AK. They are really fun to look at.). Don't miss the nativity scene in DHS when you are there looking at the Osbourne lights. Brings you back to why we are celebrating this time of the year.

I hope you have a really great visit there. Happy planning.

Spending Christmas at the BC for the first time. Just an information question. Are the Christmas decorations up to par with the WL and GF?:confused3

They are all beautiful in different ways!! I have to say that the carousel at the Beach Club is my favorite of all the decorations it is amazing!!!

Wow! That sounds brutal! Hope you have cleaned up ok. Are schools open tomorrow? We won't hear until the morning.

We are pretty clear, but got the 5:00 am call no school:scared1: DS6 was up at 6:00 and ready to got trick or treating:rotfl:

We are in Jefferson township but we are at such an elevation that we get Sparta/Sussex weather. We feel very lucky both with this storm and Irene; between these 2 storms I know so many who've been hit so hard! How about you, where in NW Jersey are you?
This weather has me even more excited about leaving for BC in only 24 more days:woohoo:

Adorable!! Frightfully cute is right!

Sorry, for everyone without power and snowed in. Saw someone was sick as well and hope they feel better soon. Nothing worse than being sick and having no power on top of it.

It was sunny and in the 60's here in KC yesterday. Will be the same today for Halloween.:)

Happy Halloween!!! Lily looks great in her onesie :lovestruc BTW! We were only without power for 16 hours, hope everyone is staying warm this Halloween. (Although it's looking more like Christmas here in Jersey)

Not too sure but, isn't it quite early for snow?:confused3
I know here in England we're experiencing warm(ish) winds from the south for this time of year! Saying that though, you kind hearted Americans usually send us the left overs of most storms, hurricanes, snow storms etc:headache:

Think i might turn on Fox News and see whats going onpopcorn::
STAY WARM AND STAY SAFE:hug:

Checking in again from the blackout. Was cold last night but we all snuggled in my (me, DH, DD, and Dear Cat) bed under blankets & a sleeping bag. We actually had a good night sleep. Mr. Smithers the lab doesnt go on furniture so he slept on the floor/his kennel with extra blankets. The frog is hiding and his crickets are practically dormant.

We got a hotel with power for tonight. No rooms ready yet but I have to keep calling-no txt when the room is ready. Oh, I miss Disney and the Beach Club!

Well my breakfast is here and my iphone battery is at 18%. I'll checking later and comment on everyone's posts then.

Later!

Happy Halloween everybody! Lily is adorable and MM - your display is exactly what I would have expected. :thumbsup2

No snow here yet in Northern Canada. :confused3 The kids and I leave tonight for Grand Cayman. There *should* be snow by the time we get home.
