 So excited I just had to share
We just switched to the Yacht Club for our wedding & honeymoon in January!
This will be the first time trying club level & the first time at the Yacht Club:lovestruc

Congratulations! You will have a wonderful time. :lovestruc

Looking at your ADRs: lunch or dinner at Liberty Tree? We like going to Sci-Fi just for the atmosphere. We really loved Raglan Road the first time we went and were going to go this past trip, but we had to cancel as plans for DTD just didn't work out that day. :guilty:

We are having dinner at Liberty Tree. We did that on our last trip and really enjoyed the meal. We plan to have dinner and then hang around that part of MK for the evening parade.

We too like the atmosphere of Sci-Fi. The food is just average, but we love going there so much we have been there on every trip.

As for Raglan Road, we are really looking forward to it. We were there on the spur of the moment on our last trip (after House of Blues cancelled our ADR without telling us :sad2:) and so we could only get the patio at RR. The patio was great but the atmosphere inside looked fun, so we are really happy to have that ADR.

Can't wait!

Thanks for the live update 'suemom2kay'...great start to your BC stay!! Yes, the staff is wonderful. So I guess you didn't get the 'Matthew McConaughey' view?!?!? haha...

Hi Everyone!

Thought I'd give you a LIVE report. Well we got to BCV at 08:30 and our room was NOT READY!!!

FINALLY, at 12:05 our room was ready. The first thing I did was check the bedside table for a telephone book and da da duh... There was a phone book but it was BLUE!!! My favorite color is purple and I MUST have a purple phone book. I complained to the front desk but they didn't seem very interested in finding a purple phone book...

I met that Teena woman and she was talking to some other guests (who did not look very important to me!) and I had to WAIT for her to talk to me!!! :scared1:

All kidding aside we are having a wonderful time. The staff has been fantastic. It was like the Great Muppet Caper trying to find my Purple Owner's locker (we checked into Pop at 10:00 on Sunday night and they said they would pick it up (after we left the room). DH & DD had to be at Epcot at 8:00a for YES program... so of course, the locker ended up in lost & found. The Bell staff worked really hard to find our stuff, the purple van people also got involved and all was made whole and right with the world again. BTW, we requested 5th floor "Epcot" (aka Garden) view and got both requests. I know this is unusual so we are really happy we got that. Although we ended up watching I! from the ground on our way home, LOL.

We really did get our room early and were very happy for that. We know how much :wizard: that would take. My 10 year old LOVES the pool and so do her parents. We have only one child so anything that keeps her occupied is a win for us!

BTW, love bugs are organizing, but not swarming yet.

Our room is great, staff are great, Teena is wonderful!!! (she paid me a LOT of moola and free upgrades for saying that!

You're bad!!! See you at the pool tomorrow!!!!!

You guys have been so great about making such great suggestions to me in regards to my upcoming trip. Our arrival day at the BC will be Friday, December 9th. We have about a 6 1/2 hour drive to the World and we will likely leave around 11 am. I anticipate arriving at the BC around 7:00. Epcot has EMH that night and as the kids will be itching to expend some energy, I thought it might be a nice idea to stroll over.

Do any of you have any suggestions for a quick supper in Epcot or around the resort area? My kids are 6 and 3 and I doubt they will be interested in a TS. We will likely be hungry and might would consider breaking down and eating a phone book due to our extreme hunger, but alas, they might not be available. ;)

I saw that you will also be going to Biergarten...my family loved our time there last year. One of the CMs at BC (Pete) recommended it and we loved it. We came out of the restaurant after dinner and stayed in that area for Illuminations! Raglan Road is on my list...haven't been there yet. We didn't even get to DTD this past trip. Last year we ate at Earl of Sandwich in DTD...good sandwiches and great value!

We've never been to Biergarten or Teppan Edo so I'm really looking forward to both. I've heard good things about Earl of Sandwich, so if we squeeze in two trips to DTD, that may be on our list.

It is almost midnight and I should be going to bed, but all this restaurant talk is making me hungry!

:lmao: It's quarter to midnight and I'm cackling like a demented witch. I half expect the family to get out of bed, come over and say "what now??"

Well there's Beaches and Cream at the BC and don't forget about Hurricane Hannah's which is the burger joint at the pool. Are you sure you don't want to grab a burger at the pool and go for a swim after that long ride? I know it's December but the pool is heated so keep that in mind. As for Epcot, the Lotus Blossom Cafe China is a counter service Chinese food place. Do the girls like Chinese food? In American the Liberty Inn is a counter service with typical burgers, dogs, phonebooks and BBQ pork sandwiches. Then there is the fish and chips take out in England right across the bridge after the International Gate entrance.

There is also ESPN at the boardwalk. I've read recently that the food is good there but it would be a sit down place. I'm not sure what else is at the boardwalk. You can look up the menus for all these places on the All Ears site.

Good luck and Bon appetite!

Going to BC for the first time in a couple days with my family (kids are 3 and 7). Would it be reasonable to go to MK through Epcot - taking the monorail? Or would that take a lot more time than the bus? Thanks!

While I haven't stayed at BC yet (75ish days!), I can tell you from personal experience that doing it this way takes forever. It is doable but it took at least an hour travel time IIRC.

jaceraden is correct. The bus to MK is definitely quicker!

The bus ride is less than 15 minutes from BC to MK, then you just have to add in the wait. I think 15 minutes is the most I have ever waited for a bus, it is usually around 5 minutes.

A very conservative estimate is 5 minute walk to International Gateway, bag check and entry at IG, walk though United Kingdom, Canada and Future World to EP front entrance, 25 min, wait for mono ?, mono from EP to TTC plus changeover to express monorail, 15 min, mono to MK, 5 min.

So a minimum 50 minutes, with a lot of walking, an extra bag check and switching monorails.

You also need Park Hoppers and EPCOT must be open if you are doing this.

We always take the bus from BC to MK!

That being said, we will usually take the monorail back to the BC from MK. That way, we can enjoy a couple of attractions along the way, or get some takeout from Sunshine Seasons or one of the World Showcase restaurants on the way back to our room.

I will add this question to the FAQ section on page 1.

If anyone does take the BC-EP-monorail-MK route because they want to, if you can, please try to time it out and report back here. Thanks!

:welcome:

If any of you would like to be added to our Page 1 Guest List, please let us know the dates of your trip and resort.:banana::banana:

Hi everyone, I'm new to DISBoards, and new to the forums. I just have to say that this Beach Club forum is so helpful, thank you to everyone for the excellent insight and info about the BC..it will be our first trip to BC in Nov 2011 and we are taking our two DDs 7 and 11. We can't wait! We hope the Christmas Decorations will be up at BC by Nov 16 when we arrive! We'll keep our fingers crossed. Does anyone know if they do put up the decorations that early in the BC? :)

We just changed from POFQ to YC, our first ever on site stay. I can't seem to stop reading about our trip I am so excited. When I told my husband we got a garden view and not a water one, he said it was ok as long as he could look at me. So romantic after 27 years.

Congrats! It sounds like you will be staying in the much-coveted smoochie-suite!!!

They have a food court type thing where Soarin is ... called Sunshine Seasons. It's a counter service/quick service. They have great chicken!!

What Teena said!!! Sunshine Seasons is our favorite CS in all of the World- so many different choices- salads, soups, grilled food like the chicken and a humongous pork chop with fresh side selections, Oriental selections. Something for everyone! And on the dining plan, you get to choose a dessert from the amazing bakery!

Another close-by selection that we found last year was the French bakery. Delicious sandwiches like ham and turkey on really fresh baguette, plus again, a selection from the amazing bakery items for dessert.

You can eat at these locations or take back to your room, but we have found that the EPCOT restaurants don't have bags to help you carry back your meals- we now bring our own supermarket bags if we know we are doing takeout from EPCOT. (One year we asked for a large shopping bag from the Soarin' gift shop to help us carry our food)

We are getting so close to our vacation! I can't sit still. Been working out like a lunatic and eating good so I can splurge on my disney dream foods while we are there...Last night I had a dream about the beach club sugar cookies and the burger at beaches n cream :cloud9::cloud9:..I really can not wait to shove about a million sugar cookies down my throat..maybe ill have less of the burgers ;):rotfl::rotfl:

okay back to reality and my plain cereal, banana and coffee this morning....:surfweb:

Hello everyone, we are 41 days away and I am so excited. If I could go sit at the airport and wait, I think I would.

During our stay we have a reservation at Crystal Palace (for my birthday!) at 8:10am. Last year we had so much trouble getting an early bus from Carribean Beach and from what I read, that is the norm there. So I was wondering, does BC have an early bus for breakfast reservations or should we plan on a taxi. I am sure it has been asked and answered but how long is the ride by bus or taxi to MK? TIA

The buses do run early at the beach club. I typically take a cab for a breakfast reservation for that early the simple reason being so I can sleep later.

Also if you do get a cab I would suggest taking it to the Contemporary and walking over..Cabs to Mk will drop you off at the ticket and transporation center and then you will have to take the monorail or boat over so keep that in mind as well in the timing of taking a cab over.

Thank you. How long will the cab ride take approx?

I would say 10 to 15 minutes. For an 8:10am breakfast reservation I would like to be at the park by 8am. I would leave at 730 catch a cab to contemporary (10 to 15 minutes) then walk from contemporary to Mk approx another 10 minute walk.

If I decided on the bus I would be at the bus stop by 7am and leave myself an hour to get there.

Kerry,

Great report!

I think we are going to venture over to US/IOA for a split stay next summer.
We've been there twice (when the kids were younger) and always stayed at HRH. We're thinking of trying RP or PB next trip but no definite plans yet.

Sounds like you had a great stay at YC. The first two years we stayed at BC/YC we stayed at YC. We loved it so much we couldn't even imagine staying at BC. Then YC wasn't available with an AP rate for our Grand Gathering. Since we were paying for all four rooms we definitely moved over to BC. Who would have thought that we would love BC even more than YC. I was so nervous about trying BC! Of course if we couldn't get
BC I'd stay at BC in a minute.

Missed you at our BC/YC Dis Meet but I'm glad you had a such a great time.
Congratulations on the "pixie dust" upgrade!!!

Sounds like a taxi is the most convenient way to go. Thanks for your help. :)
