Thank you very much! I will ask for one. My dh has been wanting to stay at an Epcot resort, and I have to admit that I was never really excited about it. But now I am. :cloud9: It will be a fun change from the MK resorts, which is where we have always stayed. And I'm thrilled that we get a chance to experience both the hustle and bustle of a deluxe resort, and the tranquility of a private 2 room cabin (Ft Wilderness). Best of both worlds!

If we want to go to Downtown Disney, or the MK, should we drive? We will have our minivan since we're driving from Texas.

YEs DRIVE!!!! DtD from there is a nightmare...

Thanks for your kind words about the thread! Lots of helping hands here!

Isn't that SAB labeled map amazing! So glad skeloosh allows us to share it!

Would you like us to add your trip dates to our Page 1 Guest List?

Sept 12-??? BC

Mike, aka MickeyT already took care of it. I was actually originally supposed to go 9/1-11, but had to change to 12-22nd. Thanks!!!

We just got back from YC 8/3-8/7 and loved it. It's an amazing resort with amazing staff and theming. The only thing I found as a fault with it was the buses. On all the buses to to the parks or DTD had Swan, Dolpin, YC, BC, and Boardwalk, I don't think I sat once!

Sorry if this has been asked, but...we're booked 9/25 thru 10/2 and Yacht & Beach are all sold out. I've checked the days individually and still no availability. Any ideas on what may be going on? A convention?? I know F&W starts on the 30th, but that doesn't explain 9/25 thru 9/30. I'm glad we're all booked and ready to go, but still a little worried about how crazy it might be while we're there!

2 quick questions.....where do I find the grey goose slushies..?
and is there construction going on at the BC..asked this before ..but cant find the answer

The grey goose slushy drinks are in world showcase of Epcot in France. There's a drink stand that sells grey goose slushy drink and grand marnier slushy drinks. VERY GOOD!!!

Well I'm finally unpacked and the laundry is all caught up!

DH threw his back out unloading the car and my Mom is back staying with us so I haven't had a chance to post much about our trip yet.

First I want to thank everyone who participated in the Dis Meet/Baby "Nanny" Shower - both those who attended and those who couldn't attend but still were there in spirit (and who sent such nice gifts!).

I especially want to thank Nettie (YCFAN) who generously treated us all to champagne and soft drinks. She has such a big heart! Nettie - on the way home from Hilton Head we stopped at a McDonald's in Lumberton and I had my eye out for you!!!!! Thank you also for making our California Grill dinner extra special - it was very much appreciated.

Teena - I hope you are feeling better. We left before you got to work on the 31st so I didn't even know you weren't feeling well.

The CL staff (especially Pete and Ivan) were super nice and helpful. We had no problems at all with mousekeeping and actually remembered the very nice lady (Gloria) who did turn down service for us last year. She remembered us and was super generous with the chocolates! Most of the guests at cl were well mannered and friendly. I only saw one "gentleman" who acted like the cl staff were his personal servants. I heard him bellowing one more - "if you don't see something you want - just tell them, they have to get it for you". What a jerk!

BC IPO did a nice job putting together "sand bucket baskets" for the kids.

We had a custom birthday cake for ds at Cape May Buffet. I asked them to do something with a "Phillies" theme and they definitely came through. They also did a beautiful job with the cake I ordered for Teena and they sent me chocolate covered strawberries and cookies as "pixie dust" for ordering the two cakes.

They had new chaise lounges and tables around SAB and they definitely seemed more plentiful. We NEVER had trouble getting a chaise lounge, even in the early afternoon. One good thing I saw is that they are now checking resort ID cards even at night! Guess they heard about the pool hoppers who waited for the evening to crash.

One washer in the laundry room was broken the entire time we were there - that was the only bummer.

We were there for 18 nights so it feels like we ate everywhere!

Here's the list (let me know if you have any questions about any of the restaurants):

Breakfast: Crystal Palace and Cape May Buffet
Lunch: Sci-Fi, 50's PTC, Hollywood Brown Derby, Chefs de France, Beaches and Cream and the Plaza - also afternoon tea at the GF
Dinner: Rose and Crown, Tutto Italia, Via Napoli, Le Cellier, Cape May Buffet, Mama Melrose's, Liberty Tree Tavern, The Wave, California Grill, Narcoossee's, Ohana, RFC in DTD, Biergarten and Flying Fish

CS restaurants:

Columbia Harbor House, Pizzafari, Flame Tree Barbecue, Bakery in Norway, Lotus in EPCOT, Hurricane Hannah's, Starring Rolls, Captain Cook's and Gasparilla's.

Weather was hot but hardly ANY afternoon showers. We never even wore our ponchos - a first.

We had a fabulous stay and a great relaxing time in Hilton Head. It's hard to believe it all done.

Any questions - ask away!!!

Disneymomx7, welcome back! Glad you had such a great vacation. :goodvibes I saw your previous post about your GF upgrade. :thumbsup2 We have stayed YC club level many times but have our first GF RPC stay coming up. Could you tell me how their evening offerings compare to BC, please. Do you remember any specific items they had?

Also about your specialty cakes: did you go thru private dining? What flavors/ fillings did you get? I'm considering a small anniversary cake for us. I did read on the cake thread that YC will do a 6 inch cake. Since it's just the 2 of us, that will be plenty.

Hope your DH's back is better soon & your moom is doing well. Thanks for any info!! :goodvibes

Can you tell me how strong the alcohol taste is in these? I love lemonaide & orange sherbert/ slushies. I am not a "drinker" mostly because I stongly dislike the alcohol taste. I will drink a screwdriver & I used to love a sloe gin fizz (dating myself! :rotfl2: ) Do you think I might like these? Thanks!

The evening appetizers at GF RPC were definitely more plentiful and upscale than BC/YC. I'm drawing a blank on specifics but I do remember that the kids were thrilled that they had chicken nuggets one night. Lots of chocolate covered strawberries for evening desserts and they really liked the ham, turkey and cheese for breakfast.

All that being said, we actually like BC CL more. It just seems "homier" and more casual. Don't get me wrong, GF RPC was very nice too.

I did go through private dining for the cake. DS is very plain so it was just vanilla cake with vanilla icing and filling. There wre chocolate covered strawberries on top, and the cake had a white chocolate ganache covering. Teena's cake was chocolate and I think it had strawberry custard filling.

Thanks for the good wishes.

Dee - I'm following your Universal report - sounds like you had a great time. My kids are starting to make the "we haven't been at Universal in such a long time noises" so I think we may do a split stay next year. We've always stayed at HRH and liked it. I agree with you though Universal CL is very different that Disney CL. Sorry we missed you - but you were definitely with us in spirit at the Meet/Shower!

Dismomx7, thanks for the quick reply! Great news about the strawberries; they are one of my favorite treats ever! I was conflicted on trying the GF because we really love YC. But I got the 40% off on a king deluxe room & requested a whirlpool tub room. Figured for that price, we could try a few nights. We're doing 5 nights deluxe dining while at YC, so I'm only planning sit down lunches for our 2 GF nights. We are usually stuffed after 5 nights of deluxe dining! If we need more than lounge offerings we'll try Gasparilla's or head to DTD. Thanks again!

Question for you regular BC/YC we shorten our trip from 8 days to 6 now we have AK scheduled for the morning we leave (ME wont pick us up till 3:30pm) But I feel like the day would be better spent enjoying the pool and CL then rushing through animal kingdom even though we have a TH breakfast. Whats the better verdict will the kids (8/9 and 11mths) rather stay at SAB all morning and skip AK completely or Spend the AM at AK? I know this is probably a thread for the theam park board but I would rather ask BC/YC as I feel y'all are more knowledgeable about how much time to spent at SAB.

My vote would be to stay at the pool if you have been to AK. Even if you haven't, I think I would vote for the pool. I don't like to be too commando on the day we leave, like to just hang out and savor the last few hours at Disney. Go have a leisurely breakfast and then come back and relax. My kids would probable vote on the swim.

I have only tried the Grand Marnier slushie, and only had one. I remember it being strong but I don't remember if the alcohol taste was strong. I wonder if they would let you sample a small taste.

I think the drink is premixed, unfortunately, so I don't think you can ask them to add less alcohol.

Any one else care to chime in?

I also had the Grand Marnier and remember it being strong, but I'm a light weight lol.
It was good though

Robyn, thanks for the additional details!!! Would love to hear more about how it went with your sand buckets through IPO. Did they set up after check-in?

And this (your quote above) is exactly what we love about BC CL and the reason we are returning later this month! We're also trying BWI CL pre-cruise, so it will be fun to compare.

Any reviews of Flying Fish? And did you see any good pirate stuff we should add to our in-room celebration list?

Of course! I always care to chime in regarding both grey goose slushies and pecan caramel bars from Karamell Kuche. I think the gg slushie is semi-strong, but the alcohol taste is not strong at all. That's why I recommend caution when drinking it out of a refill mug through a straw. :)
