When I was passing through the yc on my last trip i realized how great the resort smelled. It smelled so good I am trying to convince my family to stay there on our next trip best smelling resort ever!:rotfl:

:surfweb:I am addicted to this thread. There are a lot of wonderfully intelligent and helpful people. And funny too:lmao: I don't post often as I don't fall into those categories;) I am coming to the BC October 24 to 30 with my DD, DGS 24 months and DGD 7 months. I feel like I should request something on my reservation but I wouldn't know what:confused3 I'm secretly hoping for some pixie dust but that's probably unlikely on a monday night during F&W. I'm also bummed I won't meet Teena:sad2: Maybe next time. Can those who have been at the end of October before please comment on weather and crowds for that time of year? Thanks to all who help make this such an entertaining and informative thread. And Come On October!!

Depending on what time you leave on the 30th, that's a Sunday so I think I'll be there.

End of October is usually nice and still warm. Note I said "usually". Only Mother Nature knows for sure. As far as crowds, its F&W so the weekends in particular will be super crowded at Epcot.

As to what to request on your reservation, it's entirely up to you. If you want a full balcony (which might be a good idea while the babies nap), then definitely add that request to your reservation.

Okay I'm here!!!!!!

Arrived MCO last night and checked into the LQ at the airport. Had a quick dinner at arby's and hit the hay.

We headed out for Disney and arrived at BC at 11am. We were greeted and escorted to the desk to check in and actually got a room. Got to meet Teena who was super and had a nice talk about love bugs, babies, and various epcot resorts. So we got room 2620 near enough to the elevators to not tax my stepdads torn meniscus, but not on the ground floor which were my requests. We do have a full balcony, with a great view of trees and cranes:lmao:. Oh well. Not too bummed since close to lobby was the biggest request. Oh and we have a daybed.

We unpacked, and hustled over to Epcot by 12. We did a little looking in UK and Canada, saw King Arthur and the holy grail and O Canada then headed over to future world.

We skipped imagination and went straight to Soaring where I grabbed fast passes for 3:42. We walked onto Living with the land, ate lunch at Sunshine Gardens (thanks for the review of the roasted beet salad Dee) had salad a nd potato bacon soup, salad was good soup was outstanding. Then walked on to Circle of life, Seas with Nemo, Spaceship Earth, used our fast pass for soarin, then headed back to the resort.

Hit walmart for water, dr pepper, a few snacks (what is up with Florida not selling Hostess, thought a ding dong might be good but none not even Twinkies). A couple of other sundries, and dinner, Subway.

Went back to Epcot for illuminations, then hit the quiet pool for a swim and soak in the hottub.

Oh and just as an aside, got a birthday button (45) and while there was no Micky birthday card in my room, the cashier at sunshine garden, said I have a phone call for T. Is that you? She handed me the phone and Goofy sang me happy birthday:rotfl:

Love bugs are all over the place but not in swarms, the worst I saw them were on the white posts at the entrance to BC.

Noodles are hanging with me and I took one with me down to the pool there is a whole lot of noodles;). It was very warm but not unmanageable humid but not drenching. We got one brief shower around 2:30, but that was it.

No phone book, but they still have bibles, so unless you're dialing God no local numbers to crank call.

Guess I better call it a night . Off too Epcot again tomorrow. Need to hit test track and the rest of the countries for sure.

Sounds like a full day, thanks for the mini-trip report. Hope you keep Paul and the Noodles busy during your stay.

What a fantastic arrival day!!! Glad you enjoyed the salad, I am *jealous* - MM may have her Matthew, but I fantasize about the roasted beet and goat cheese salad!

Hope the rest of your trip is spectacular!

I added you to the Guest List on page 1.

I agree with Teena, you may want to add "full balcony, please" to your request.

Wow. Sounds like a great first day. Feels like an extra day when you can check in early and hit the parks. A freebie to get that Disney adrenaline rush.

Got to participate in the King Arthur show last year (It's great to be King!) Lots of fun.

Need to try that beet salad. DW loves beets (and salads). New must do.

Have fun and let us know how it's going. :wave2:

PS. Thanks for the great live trip report! Say HI to the noodles for me!:grouphug:

When I was passing through the yc on my last trip i realized how great the resort smelled. It smelled so good I am trying to convince my family to stay there on our next trip best smelling resort ever!:rotfl:

I remember once seeing a discussion of the exact sent used at BC. Not sure if it was the same at YC. I think that it was narrowed down to 2 options but also not sure if anybody knew for certain. I would love to get some sort of scent for my home that smells like BC. Of course, I would also have to bake gingerbread and place it all around to have it smell as good as the BC lobby in December!

Just updated my signature with my new trip information for December! Super excited to be returning to BC CL, although I have been trying to figure out how I can pack an extra phone book in my suitcase and not go over the weight limit.
(The recent threads have definitely been entertaining to say the least!)

We really have enjoyed all of our CL stays and deliberated the pros and cons of staying in a deluxe room as it is not on the CL floor. We finally decided that we would appreciate the extra space. It will be two moms traveling with two 12 year old girls and an 8 year old boy. My friend has not been to WDW in over ten years and has never stayed on property or CL. I hope to help plan a magical trip for all of us!

I know the deluxe rooms are corner rooms- are they generally on the same side of the resort as the elevator that goes up to CL? Is there any type of room request we can make that would make the trip up to the lounge quicker? (I do understand there aren't many deluxe CL rooms.) Can we take the stairs?

Teena- I missed meeting you last year as you were cruising on the Magic, I believe. We absolutely loved our cruise on Magic in August. Hope to meet you this time around. My kids would love to pin trade with you. We discovered the fun of pin trading last December thanks to the DIS. My son got to pin trade with the Captain of the Magic!

I know we still have 2 weeks left in September but does anyone know when the movie schedule comes out for October? We are staying Oct 24-31 and I wanted to be able to plan a movie. TIA

35 days to go!!!!!

We are arriving early Monday morning so I hope to be able to meet Teena right at the beginning of our trip!

Here is some info on the BC scent from the Page 1 FAQ section of this thread-

Does anyone know, does the YC have the same smell as the BC or is something different?

What is that awesome smell at the Beach Club?

Want to feel like you are living at the Yacht or Beach Club all year long??? you can purchase the scent system used in the lobbies so that your house can smell like your "Home away from home":

The scent generator may be purchased at www.scentairhome.com
The scent used is green clover and aloe

Congrats!!!

Here is some detailed info about the deluxe rooms from guests who have stayed in them. This is on Page 1 of the BC section of this thread. Robyn has stayed in a couple (few) of these rooms, so she may be able to tell you about the location, or check out the bczone map that is posted once in awhile:

Detailed balcony information on Deluxe Concierge Rooms from guests who have stayed there and reported back:

There are six deluxe Concierge rooms at BC.

1557 has a patio and lots of windows.
2557 and 4557 have extra large balconies.
3557 has the standing room only balcony.

3691 has both a standing room balcony and a full balcony
4681 has a standing room only balcony.

So 3 of the 6 have full balconies, 1 has a patio, and 2 have standing room only balconies.

The movie schedule will not be available until the first few days in October. I try to remember to check and post it here as soon as I see it.

Just returned from 7 nights at BC CL and loved it. There were five of us in 2 rooms. We stayed in 5650 and 5652, which were right by the elevators and club lounge which was nice. Both rooms had balconies so we were glad about that. I felt the staff on the CL was excellent. From making last minute dining reservations to printing an extra room key for my daughter when she lost hers, the staff was always willing to help. I found the lounge to be pretty empty the first few days but things really picked up by the end of the week. The food offerings were good and the staff seemed to always be replenishing everything. Yes the staff does "watch" you, if you consider them coming by to refill you wine glass or pleasantly ask you about your day. Some may not like that but I find it quite refreshing. All in all it was my first stay here in seven years and I don't think I ever want to stay anywhere else. I'll be happy to answer any questions if you have them.

Mike, can you add west&east to December, please?

Beach Club CL Deluxe December 16-22, 2011

The deluxe rooms do not connect to each other and are not on the fifth floor. They are scattered throughout the other four floors and your key gives you elevator access to the fifth floor where the CL lounge is located.

The two bedroom suites are also located on floors one through four and scattered throughiout the building and your key will give you access to the fifth floor and lounge. One of the bedrooms is a king bed and the other has two queens in it. In my opinion you'd be better off with two regular club level rooms on the fifth floor with two queens in each other.

Make sure you book the rooms together on the same reservation and call the resort about 6 days before your arrival date and ask to speak to someone in the back office. Just remind them then that you are a family of seven and booked two rooms and need rooms together with a doorway in between them. Since there are very few garden view club level rooms, I personally would book either standard or water ... making it easier to get two adjoining/connecting rooms.

Thank you! That's kind of what I gathered. I think the water view CL will be the way to go. Until I freak out worrying we won't get rooms together and book the suite

I'm currently in the early stages of planning my trip for August/September 2012. Unfortunately I didn't make Disney this years (mainly due to lack of funds, my last trip in 2010 was very expensive). I've stayed at both BC and YC in the past, I think in all honesty I preferred the YC. Although at BC we did get upgraded to concierge level for free and had a lovely balcpny with a pool view the YC was definitely quieter and I'm tempted to say our room was larger and nicely refurbished.

I'm not sure whether I should stick with what I know and love or try the Boardwalk? I prefer the Epcot resorts because it's so easy to get everywhere and you can walk to Epcot in no time. Swan and Dolphin although beautiful are probably off due to lack of free dining.

Dee,
Thanks for getting me added to the guest list for December and for your reply. I missed the info in the FAQs on the scent. Definitely something to look into.
I did see the info about the deluxe rooms. To rephrase my question, where in the hotel are these deluxe rooms in relationship to the club (do you have to walk down a long hall and then take the elevator or stairs, or is it at the same end of the hotel as the lounge)? Looks like most of the deluxe rooms are essentially stacked on top of each other in the same location so I guess it won't matter much anyway... What would be ideal is a deluxe room on the 4th floor just below the lounge.

I went with the 2 bedroom suite. It wasn't too much more than 2 Lagoon CL rooms. And this will guarantee we are all together. Plus it's a nice way to end our trip. We will be there Sept 2012. Hope we are not too far from the 5th floor lounge, but it's all good :goodvibes

Wondering if anyone who is there now or just back has any reports of how opening at Epcot through the IG is being handled now that there is no rope drop at the front entrance? thanks! :goodvibes
