One month today until we fly over to the US from the UK. Kids are all very excited. We fly to Dallas first for a week before heading over to the BC for 2 weeks. ADRs all done - got pretty much everything we wanted. Full balcony requested - will need the extra space with 5 of us in a room. Plan is to hit the parks each morning and head back to SAB around lunchtime each day. Probably hit a park in the evening. We have 2 weeks to do everything so no need to rush around the parks every day.

Also got tickets for La Nouba as a surprise for my wife - the kids can head to the beach movies that night.

Do all rooms at the BC have fridges? Will need to order some bits and pieces before we arrive. Do most food places will have Soya milk as well as cows milk? My son is allergic to cows milk.

We will be in Disney the last week of September. This will be our first time at Beach Club. My son is 21 months old and will be napping each day. Is there a room or floor I should request?? We are planning to bring his white noise, but still wanted to be sure that it wasn't super noisy outside the room. Any advice??

Star Wars yes. Green speedo.......Lord I hope not.

I think maybe some of them are but others aren't. Towards the end there are some that definitely aren't. I know she took many many more so that's why I assume these were from another trip.

Yes, I think just the Star Wars photos are from this trip. I believe she is putting them up a little at a time, when they are "ready for prime-time". Haven't seen the BC pictures yet, but I am looking forward to seeing them.

What are the normal operating hours of SAB in September? Are they just the lifeguarded hours or can you swim in it without a lifeguard?

SAB has definite designated hours and when it is not open, you cannot swim there. The hours change constantly. On Sunday and Monday (last time I worked) they were 10 AM to 11 PM.

I really don't know what the hours will be in September.

I probably should be over on the resort changers thread...lol...

We were so excited about our winter trip to the BC...and even more excited that we could add on a few days to make it more than just a long weekend...but...the BC was not available for all of our nights  ..so we have now changed to the YC! ??? Just when I was getting comfortable with the idea of staying at the BC...

Do the YC/BC share a bus stop...I do know where the BC bus stop is...

Can anyone tell me about LV CL rooms that are near the lounge???

Thanks to Mickey T I did already take a look at Disneyzone to get an idea about the room locations...

Is the boat dock closer to the YC also???

Sorry for so many questions...

TIA YC/BC fans for your help! BlueSkies:flower3:

Blueskies I LOVE YC CL It is my favorite resort, we head back next month again. I don't know about bus sharing b/c we rent a car but just wanted to tell you how awesome YC CL is!!!! I found the floor of YC CL 5th floor to be pretty small which I liked. So to me there really was no far walk to the lounge.

Want to give a 'shout out' today. For anyone that enjoys Marlton Moms post go check out her photos of WDW and Star Wars weekend. Not only is she verbally entertaining, she can also capture quite a visual!

Oh the talent on this little board!

Why thank you Mickey T.!! Photography is my passion in life and one of the best 'target rich' environments for a photographer is Disney World.

This is a work in progress as I have many pictures to process and post. There just isn't enough hours in the day for me to do it all in one shot.

If you are in need of a Disney fix, check in from time to time and you might find something you like. Hopefully it will put a big smile on your face! :goodvibes

Are they this year's pictures?

The ones that are on the main page are this years. As I process and add a picture it just goes to the front of the 'line'. I will put all of this year's pictures in folders organized by subject once I get everything processed and organized. Pictures from our last trip to Disney in December of 2009 are in a separate folder which can be accessed by clicking on the thumbnails to the right.

Thanks for the heads up. The photos ARE FANTASTIC! Great captions, too.

But a friendly warning- the speedo picture "rears" its ugly head in the middle of page 4. I WARNED YOU!

Thank you Dee! When appropriate, I use the caption section to try and set the scene, make a Star Wars joke or capture the moment, like when I got the picture of the character Ahsoka Tano and Linda, who is a devoted fan of Star Wars weekends.

I did a lot of research to determine the best spots to take Star Wars Weekends pictures and, by necessity, it was imperative that I stake out my spot hours in advance of the event.

That wasn't as bad as it sounds because I got to hang out with the other folks who were just as nutty as I was about the whole deal. Let me tell you, these people were the most fun bunch ever (besides ya'll on the BC/YC thread!) and we chatted the time away. I got to find out some really fun inside stuff, like what it's like to work SWW for Disney as a volunteer in the 501st legion (People who costume themselves as Dark Side Characters from Star Wars and make appearances to raise $$ for charity).

I also found out that the Tinkerbell who flies around the castle on the wire before the fireworks is a GUY! :rotfl2: I can honestly say the thought never crossed my mind but now when that Tinkerbell comes out I am looking to see if 'she' is carrying a 'package'.

So keep checking in from time to time to see what I added and feel free to leave a comment if the mood strikes you.

That is correct Dee! The BC pictures will have to wait until I come across them. I took around 2,000 pictures but many of them are multiple exposures of the same subject and some are ones that didn't quite turn out the way I wanted. The ones that I am posting are the cream of the crop and since I have that kind of volume it's better if I just go through the pix chronologically because that's how I have it organized in my head. ( I know, 'organized' and my 'head' in the same sentence... Scary!)

So thank you again for all the nice comments and stayed tuned to Marlton Mom's flickr account and get your fresh and tasty Disney picture fix.

Yes, all rooms have small refrigerators (no freezer section). I know BC Marketplace carries Silk which I believe is a soy milk. I don't know how common soy milk is in restaurants. If no one here knows, try asking on the disAbilities forum. It sounds like a lovely holiday. Have fun!

Hi Blue Skies. The YC has its own bus stop near the lobby door. The boat dock is straight down the walk from the YC lobby...very convenient. Both resorts are great IMO. Really, it's all one resort. Happy planning.

As some of you know, I own DVC at BLT and have always loved the CR. I went to WDW as a child, the first year it opened and we stayed at the CR and I was hooked! Hooked on all the magic WDW has to offer and hooked on the CR, watching the monorail go right through the building. Sometimes my parents weren’t able to get a room at CR and we would stay at the Poly. While we enjoyed it there, I longed for CR. Over the years, WDW added more resorts and parks, and we continued to try for CR as our first choice.

Fast forward to when I met my future DH and I took him to WDW. I couldn’t afford to stay at CR, so we stayed in what was called the Disney Village area, now know as the Downtown Disney area. Well, Disney worked its magic and my future DH was hooked! Good thing because I can’t imagine being married to someone who doesn’t share my crazy love of WDW! Over the years we stayed at many Disney Resorts and enjoyed them all.

When we had our first child, we stayed off property and even though we did have a wonderful time, we decided we would stay on property from then on. We have stayed at Poly and the Cabins and would happily stay at both again. We have stayed at CR more times than I can remember. Our children feel very much at home there, so when DVC decided to build BLT, we knew we would be purchasing there. We absolutely love CR & BLT! A few years back, we needed to add a night to our trip at CR and we ended up at the Swan. We talked about staying in the Boardwalk area again……someday. Well someday came last week when we stayed at BC.

WOW! What a resort! In the past, we had been in the lobby before to eat at Cape May, but that was about it. The rooms at BC are beautiful! We stayed CL and made good use of the lounge and all it had to offer. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed SAB with the Noodle Family floating around and relaxing! We even had a wimpy Noodle cousin join us and he is now with the Noodle Family hanging out with Bell Services. We walked around the Boardwalk area at night, taking in the sights and sounds. We couldn’t believe how convenient it was to walk to/from Epcot. We also took the boat to/from the Studios. The bus to MK was quick and easy and we had no trouble getting to AK by bus as well. We went to HDD at FW one night and took the bus to MK & then the boat to FW. Worked like a charm! With the exception of HDD, all our table service meals were at BC, YC and Epcot. It was so nice to be able to walk to so many places!

A huge thrill for me was meeting our very own Teena in the lobby! I feel like I have known her for years!
Something that surprised me was my children asking when we are staying at BC again! They have never asked that about any resort before! BC has won us over! Looks like we will be trying to add a few nights at BC or BCV for our next trip!

I want to thank each and every one of you who has contributed to this fantastic board! I have gathered so much information here. This is one of the friendliest boards I have been on. It feels like a tight knit family.
Best wishes to all in need of prayers.
To all with future trips planned, ENJOY!

BLTtinkerbell, what a great review. Glad you enjoyed your BC stay so much. Also glad you're joining the fun on this thread. :grouphug:

I agree with that sentiment. It really is all one resort. You will still be going to the marketplace and Cape May cafe and to the BC lobby to see Teena so think of it as an extension to the Yacht Club.

Some advantages of the Yacht Club in my mind are the direct walk to the friendship boats dock, the bus stop to the parks area is closer to the Front of the Yacht Club and you are closer to the kiddie side of Storm Along Bay.

Again all the "closer" to's are really splitting hairs so it's not enough to make or break a trip.

Before we go on vacation we have all this time to obsess over the smallest details. In the end you'll find that you just didn't have the time to notice or 'miss' the things that you were so concerned about.

Just go with the feeling that you are going to have a really great stay and you are just going to enjoy yourself to pieces, so there is no need to obsess about construction, or the "walk' to this that or the other thing.

You will have FUN!! I PROMISE!
