2011 Yacht & Beach Club FAQ, Part II

I was a little bummed about the resort wear. I saw it at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Boardwalk, and the Grand Floridian.

Either way, I am still uploading pictures from the trip. We have satellite internet and I have to make sure I don't use up my daily bandwidth.

I made reservations for my Mother-Daughter trip this afternoon. We went back and forth about staying at POFQ or CSR, but we finally decided that the $$ we were going to spend for the Deluxe Dining Plan at either place was better spent at the Beach Club.

A few things about the Beach Club--pictures to follow and I think I will be doing a full tr which is going to be heavy on the information.

1. I made the request for a full balcony and did online checkin. I knew we were going to be getting to the resort very, very early, so I felt that the chance of having the room ready without the full balcony was great. Our room was ready (Sunday at 7am) and my singular request was granted.

2. We had a courtyard view that could have also been classified as a water view. When I post pictures, one could see.

3. We had a second floor room (2575). It was very comfortable, and after being in POR for so long, it was to us a huge room!

4. Our Mousekeeper was excellent! We came in every day to see what she did with my daughter's Minnie Mouse next.

I'm like you - I would pick BC over deluxe dining anyday!
Can't wait to see your pictures.

YC FAN and Robyn, thanks so much for the additional information. How funny about Disney Florist. I thought I wasn't wording my request correctly or communicating the right information, but it does sound like it just depends who answers the phone.

I'm really happy with IPO's attention to detail and help in planning. It's so nice to have BC and BWI IPO operating out of the same office, since we're BWI CL, cruise, then BC CL. They've done a nice job of keeping track of us! Please report back after your upcoming trips and let me know how it goes with the in-room surprises!

So sorry I'm missing the meet - this will make two summers in a row that we've scheduled the wrong dates!

jconrad, thanks so much for posting the photos! That's a lovely garden view!

creativeamanda, can't wait to hear more!

Another BC Club level question--Do they really not help with special things? I have not figured out what I wanted to do exactly but was going to email them for some thoughts on how to make this trip extra special since this is kind of our dream vacation. After reading here and in a couple other places, it seems like they really can't or won't do anything extra to help make it special anymore. Basically it is go through Disney Florist which doesn't interest me really since I am not sure what I want and hate dealing with another place. I guess since I didn't really know what I wanted to ask them to do, it doesn't matter but the more I read, the less special I think CL is going to be.

IPO has always been invalueable to me in the past. So far in the planning of this trip for July they have also done anything I have asked. We'll have to wait and see if they say anything about a new policy. I'm sure they would have to let me know since we already have plans for July.

For our May trip, IPO had graduation Mickey ears for each of the guys with their names embroidered on it and even special ordered 2010 hats for two of the guys that had graduated the year before. They also ordered shirts and pirate Mickey ear hats too.

I have to wait and see if there will be any change to what they will do now, but this is absolutely the reason I LOVE staying CL at YC. They couldn't be more helpful.

Hello! One CM from IPO referred me to the Disney Florist, but as soon as I let IPO know I didn't want one of the florist's packages, everything was back on track. IPO also mentioned a new policy preventing them from putting items we order in our room before check-in, but they said they can definitely purchase the items for us and set them up in our room as soon as we check in and our room is ready. I was just wondering about the policy, but it doesn't make a significant difference to us.

Again, IPO has been extremely responsive and very willing to purchase all the items I requested. They are double checking everything, so I appreciate that attention to detail.

Glad to hear you had a great trip, and you got your request for a full balcony,
for Aug, our only request is a full balcony too, hope we get it!

I saw resort wear too, at AKL, GF & Poly last Jan. Wonder why some Deluxe resorts have it and some don't? :confused3 When we go for dinners, I love browsing the resort shops :goodvibes

Sounds like a great trip, I have a few questions if you wouldn't mind.

1. what is the current bounceback offer?
2. does online checkin make it so your room will be ready for an earlier checkin?

Cinderumbrella took these photos about a weekago of the Bounceback offer. Original post is on page 141.

Thanks for the info! Hoping they offer something for 2012 by the end of August, 40% off would be awesome too and justify getting AP's.

I just sent an email to BC IPO with our request for BC Marketplace to fill the "sand bucket" gift baskets. I'll let you all know how I make out.

I'm doing the countdowns now - 22 days util we leave - 17 days until I
start packing!

I am back again! Just booked our trip for March 2012. We stayed at the BC last March as well and had the best time ever. Only thing we are changing this year is that we are starting with a 3 night cruise on the Magic and we are renting a car for the rest of the week.

We found waiting for the bus to be a colossal hassle most of the time. We want to be able to come and go as we please and not have to wait for the bus to take us where we want to go.

See you in March!

Jennifer

Sounds like a great trip, I have a few questions if you wouldn't mind.

1. what is the current bounceback offer?
2. does online checkin make it so your room will be ready for an earlier checkin?

1. I think Dee adequately answered this question, and this was the paperwork in our room.

2. The positive about online checkin is that you give the option of letting them know when you expect to checkin. It's been hit or miss for me, that the room is ready when we get there. But everytime I have checked in early using online checkin, the room was ready within two hours.

The caveat to online checkin is that if you are not happy with your room, it really is not fair to the others in the online checkin line that you try to change rooms. I weighed the pros and cons and decided that the full balcony would not be the dealbreaker for me, but would be nice to have.

Does anyone know if there is something going on April 21- 28, 2012 at BC and YC? There are only Club level rooms left. This is not Easter or anyone's spring break. I had to book April 28 - May 5 at BC but if anything opens up for the previous week I will switch it. I just don't understand why that week is booked up already.

My guess is a block of rooms are being held for a conference.

Don't want to discourge you, but we have gone end of Aug or mid Sept. every year but 1 for the last 10-12 years. The only bouncebacks we have seen are either for the % off for the rest of the current year or free dining for the Aug- Sept dates for the next year.

The 40% off rates usually don't come til Dec or so & usually have started with PINS.

But since I'll be there in Sept, I'm gonna hope I'm wrong your wish comes true. Then I can upgrade to APs & book next years trip then too! :goodvibes

I wish Disney would tell me if it was blocked or not. The lady I talked to said it was spring break which it is not for anyone in the country! The week before is a spring break but not the 21- 28. So if the 21- 28 open up I can easily switch my dates to that right? Right now I booked April 28 - May 5 just to secure something.
