Hi all, my name is Laurie and I have been a lurker for awhile now (felt a little funny jumping in on your conversations) but decided to finally jump in. We will be staying at the Beach Club for the first time Nov 24 - Dec 3:woohoo: and we are SOOOOOOOOOOO excited!!!!!
I have one question (for now it's 1, I'm sure I'll have more as we get closer):
We are thinking of renting a car for a day or two, is parking at the resort free or is there a daily charge?

Thanks for your help!!!
Laurie

Welcome:cheer2:

You'll find lots of helpful posters on this thread who love BC/YC - so ask away!!!

I am still finding my feet on the DIS and just wanted to say a massive thank you for this thread! We are staying onsite for the first time in 11 trips next year and we are going to book the BC and this thread has been a huge help to me in deciding which hotel to book and what's great about it! Thank you :)

I don't post that often on here, but this is a GREAT thread! So many wonderful, helpful people here! Congrats on your booking!:cool1:

I'm here now. RESORT WEAR will be appearing in Oct/ Nov. As per market place staff. Hope to see Teena tommorow... Richard is getting sick of me stalking him and asking if he needs a break. Too busy for words on this trip. I'll report more
when I get home

Have a Wonderful Trip! Can't wait for the pics and report :surfweb:

After a loooong school year and constant waffling back and forth about where to stay, we have decided that YC it is (unless I change back to BC....:goodvibes) I'm very excited :yay: A few questions. Do I need to PM my dates to someone to be included on the list on page 3 (I think it was page 3) or can I just post it here? Also, do we have to supply our own marshmallows for the roast? Sounds silly, I know, but I need to know if I should throw a bag into my suitcase. Also, is there anything that anyone wishes someone would have told them prior to their first stay? Thanks.

Welcome Laurie and RobynPrincess!!!!!

Marlton Mom, thanks so much for the update! And say hello to Richard for us! On our last trip, our pre-schooler ran up to Richard every afternoon to report the details of our day. Richard listened intently and asked lots of questions - wonderful! Have a great trip!! :wizard:

Back from North Carolina.....kids and I had a great visit with my Mom. Next time we go to North Carolina, it will be when we're on the way to BC!!! My FIL had his 2nd round of chemo while we were gone, and came through it very well again. One of the medications that he is receiving can cause sensitivity to cold....tingling and numbness in the part of the body that was exposed to cold, and he is experiencing this side effect this time. He cannot eat any cold foods, so we have to let everything come to room temp first....good thing he's a coffee drinker....he likes his drinks hot. But getting the cream out of the refrigerator causes the tingling in his fingers. But it is a side effect that he can work around. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!

I'm going to try to post photos from photobucket for Blueskies.....if this works, these are views from the full balcony of room # 5661 at BC. There are also a couple of pics of the main entrance to BC from the lagoon side. If you look closely at the yellow "flag" pointing to the balcony on the 5th floor, that is the balcony for 5661 :) . It was a fantastic room!!

Hope this works!
Hope everyone is doing well and those currently at BC/YC are enjoying their stays! I'm trying to get caught up on all that I missed! Congrats Teena on sneaking a peek at your soon to be born grandbaby. I loved the 3D sonograms when I had my kids.....DD7 would not turn around, so we got a great view of the back of her head and back, but DS3 gave us a perfect little pout. :rotfl: One that he uses quite often!

We are staying at POP Century but have dinner ressies at Cape May. How much does it cost to valet park?

How funny. We're here as well. Know what you mean about being busy. BC villas are wonderful. Staff has been excellent. The pool is simply amazing. The bus system seem to be running slower lately but you just have to plan for extra time. I was stalking poor Richard today asking about Teena. Perhaps we'll both get the chance to meet her tomorrow.

Hi Laurie and welcome!! Can I add you to our November 2011 Who's Where List?? I add you to page 3 and then Dee will add your name to the main list located on page 1. Let me know and I'll add you to page 3 tomorrow.

Happy Fathers Day!!!

Mike, katesdad, jay, all of the other dads who post here, and to everyone's DH- hope you all have a wonderful day and that the kids treat you right!!!

(If I missed someone, I apologize- got home from the Buffett show at 2 am- way too late for this old pirate: !!! Show over at 11, our parking lot did not start clearing until after 12:30, and then my van would not start :scared1: Luckily kind Parrottheads got us going with a jump. Good show, especially the reworking of the "Boat Drinks" with a Bruins tribute)

I have updated the Page 1 Guest List, so please take a minute to check it out to make sure you are listed correctly, and let me know if any changes need to be made.

Now, my kids drink a ton of milk. We are staying CL but I see milk is only listed for breakfast. Is it possible to get it at other times during the day (like if I ask or should I contact IPO or just order some)? Also, beer--if DH wants one before it is out, can he ask for one like you can at other resorts?

I actually drink a lot of milk, too! If they didn't have milk out in the lounge at any given time, a CM would always get some for us in just minutes. I think the latest I requested a cup of milk was 10pm. Otherwise, milk is available in the BC Marketplace

I think the CMs will get you a beer or two when it is not out (although not sure if they would be willing to do so in the morning- maybe someone could ask, for research purposes...)

For the milk, you could ask the CMs to prepare a carafe for you to bring back to your room fridge. Here is a photo of a nice surprise treat of milk and cookies a friend sent to our room on our arrival night.

Thanks for the resort merchandise info! Can't wait to hear about your trip and see the photos!

I hope your FIL's treatments continue to go well with minimal, manageable side effects.

GREAT photos- just wanted to ask what you did with all the people? What time did you take this picture?

Do I need to PM my dates to someone to be included on the list on page 3 (I think it was page 3) or can I just post it here? Also, do we have to supply our own marshmallows for the roast? You just need to post your dates here and I will add your name to our Page 1 Guest Lists. I keep the main list on Page 1, you may see lists on other pages- different people are keeping sub-lists to help me out.

Anyone know about the marshmallows? Are they supplied at the campfire, or can you purchase them there or at the BC Marketplace? How much???

You can park at any resort for free. I am not sure what or if they charge for valet. The parking lot for the Beach Club is just a very short walk across a bridge to the hotel entrance. If you are able, I would just park and walk.
