We would love to be on the noodle list in Dec :santa:
I have an idea on the "Tag" why doesn't each DISer write their DISer name in black sharpie? It won't hurt the noodles and then we can all see who has had them :goodvibes

I like that Idea, I just wish i was going to put my name on them :sad2:

Thanks for the replies Teena SJS315 and MickeyNut :goodvibes

Hello there MickeyNut! Nice to see you!!! :) I remember that you are a fan of Cape May breakfast...we have only tried it once (and we really did like it too!) because of the long trip over from the monorail resorts just to have breakfast.. So far two breakfast options... Teena mentioned the Marketplace....is there a TS option ..anything like the GF Cafe??? Will our winter trips be overlapping??? Would be so nice if they were :thumbsup2

Hi BlueSkies :wave2:. We make sure we eat breakfast at Cape May every trip.....we just love it!!! The dinner is great there too :goodvibes. The YC has Captain's Grill.....we've never eaten there but that's a TS :). Of course Yachtsman is always great too :thumbsup2. You will like the BC.....it's a beautiful resort with a great atmosphere.....one of these days we will book there again ;). I would love it if our trips overlapped.....it would be great to see you ::yes::.

First of all, sign us up for the noodles if it's convenient with our check-in date: Sunday, 9/18. We'll be driving down so if the noodles need refreshing, I can go snag some from Targay & haul 'em down.

Yup!

Write up a brief description of how it will work and the list as it currently appears. I can periodically edit as we have new floaters on board.

Did you by any chance photograph your precious noodles before sending them off? If no, you definitely need to pull a catalog link photo or something, so people know they will be commiting (commited?) to be the caretakers of the rolls royce of noodles.

A direct handoff would be best, but sometime a family's vacation schedule may make this difficult to arrange, so a plan B might be a good idea.

Anyone know if it would be permissible to leave the noodles at Bell Services with the instruction that Guest B will be checking in on XX/XX/11, and will be picking them up. The fridge swaps at the value resorts work something like that.

I am also envisioning some kind of noodle tattoo or id tag so we can identify OUR noodles, but I can't really think of anything that would last and/or would not injure the delicate foam.

Unfortunately, the appropriate punishment for anyone who breaks the chain will be virtually impossible- wait for it-

Public flogging with a wet noodle

but maybe it will be VIRTUALLY possible, so please exercise extreme caution if you are in the rotation!

These ideas are all submitted for your approval by Dee, who is using her "noodle" for the good of others.

Definitely need to tattoo the noodles. I vote a great big "MM" which the rest of the 'World' might think is for Mickey Mouse but we'll know it's really for our noodly-angel Marlton Mom.

I also think it should be a requirement that each family who uses the noodles has to get a group picture with them. It's important to document the adventures of the noodles, right?! Maybe someone could start a written note or list for folks to date & sign before passing off the noodles for the next group. Yes?

All this talk of food has me wondering, how is the breakfast at the Captain's Grille? Or any other meal, for that matter? I've eaten at Cape May several times. Yachtsman is our anniversary ADR (gonna order us a Disney-fied replica of our wedding cake top tier for this meal, I think). I don't think I know anyone who's eaten at the Captain's Grille... :confused3

Bumping up your question- can someone who has stayed in the BCVs describe the coffee makers?

I'm pretty sure the machines are the filter type (think Mr. Coffee) as opposed to the Keurig (one cup) type.

Here's what I do when I don't know what size the coffee makers are or the type of filters they take. I pack the Maxwell House coffee filter pads. One pad makes 4 cups of coffee and 2 pads can be used in the bigger brewers for more coffee. .

That way I am prepared for whichever size coffee maker is in the room.

I am a coffee addict, but not a snob, so the Maxwell House is sufficient for my morning routine.

I'm not sure exactly what brand but they are the filter type and have a 10 or 12 cup pot. Just be aware that the filter packs they leave you are intended for 4 cups. I didn't pay attention the first time i used it and filled the pot completely. Needless to say that was some pretty weak coffee.:rotfl2:

We have had breakfast there...it was good, not crowded, easy to get in and out...there was a choice when we were there to eat from a buffet or sit down service...we chose to stay seated....it was nice

I believe I am checking in as Danny's Mom is checking out. I will be at BC CL GV June 25th - June 29th.

Count me in on the Marlton Mom's Fabulous Noodle swap if it can get to July 16th!!!!

We're able to fill in the gap somewhat ... arrive 7/2 & depart 7/14 ... so if the storage with bell services for those couple of days before and after is an option, count on us for those days.

If not, maybe BLTtinkerbell can get to someone checking in earlier who can pass them to us inbetween and then we can pass them on someone before our check-out and they can hand off to Robyn (DisneyMomx7).

I thought the same thing. And I try to remember to pack a sharpie anyway just in case I need to label things while we are there.

We ate at the Captain's Grille for our arrival dinner last year. Loved it!

Here is the link from my TR with the review of our meal (you have to get through some monorail and EPCOT stuff first), but it is worth if for the food porn!

We are going to be staying at the Yacht and Beach Club over the 4th of July in a conceirge room and were just wondering if you have any tips/tricks for us.
We are actually a large party of 9 and are staying at SOG (Shades of Green) and then splitting up over the 4th of July weekend so that part of the group can be at Yacht and Beach Club since the kids have always wanted to stay and play in the pool (and so has mom!). Our group consists of me, my husband, and our two boys (11 and 4), my mom, her husband, my two brothers (19 and 11) and my brothers girlfriend.
We have never stayed at Yacht and Beach Club but are wondering just what will be in store for those lucky few in the group who will be staying at that location instead of SOG.
Cathy

Welcome ... :welcome:

Sounds like you have a great plan already to enjoy time at SOG and then make the switch to Y&BC to celebrate the 4th!

There is a lot of great information about the resort, including the conceirge level and the pool area of SAB, on the first page of this thread.

If you are just staying at the resort during your time at Y&BC, I would plan on eating breakfast in the lounge and getting down to the pool just before it opens to make sure you get chairs for your large group.

They offer pool service so you can order lunch where your seated and have it brought to you if you like as well as drinks from Hurricane Hannah's. Or if you feel you need a break out of the sun (which I hope it is this year for the 4th ... last year was overcast, cool with some rain as well), head back up to your room for some afternoon snacks & drinks from the lounge.

They do offer games, music & such around the pool each afternoon so that would be something the kids could take part in if they like. They usually have things for the younger kids earlier in the morning over by the sand play area and then move over in front of the shop (near slide exit) in the afternoons.

Not sure if they do anything special for the 4th or not. We were at the Boardwalk last year on the 4th before we moved over to the Beach Club. We arrived later in the afternoon so just hit the pool for awhile before heading to Narcoossee's for dinner & fireworks.

After your day at the pool, grab some appetizers from the lounge before dinner. I know Epcot has a special ending to Illuminations so even if you are not going to the park that day, you could head over to the bridge toward the Boardwalk to at least catch the upper fireworks from that as well maybe see what they do at Hollywood Studios.

And if you are going to the parks instead that day ... well just pick and choose what you want from that plan and enjoy celebrating the 4th with the masses.;)

Hope you have a great time!

Right now we have 3 ADR's for Captain's Grill, all for breakfast (we're on the Deluxe Dining Plan). DH is a HUGE breakfast person and so am I so we need a good breakfast or we are crabby patties. :) I have 1 ADR for Cape May right now, so I'm going to even it out by cancelling one CG ressie and add on a CM ressie. DH read all the menus and really likes what Captain's Grille offers for breakfast. (He thinks we're going to look weird eating too many character meals and we have no kids.) This was a main reason we decided to change to Beach Club, because so many of our ADR's focused around Epot and resort. We have a Yachtsman ADR too and I too am surprising DH with a cake. Our trip is supposed to be a honeymoon type trip and we've been married 6 years! :lmao:

So good to hear! thanks

Thanks muchly for sharing all the experiences at the Captain's Grille. I appreciate it! Staying club level I'm not sure how much we'll want/need breakfast at a restaurant. Breakfast is my favorite big meal but I try to avoid it. I have a nasty habit of gaining lots of weight on WDW vacations even with all the walking.

Dee, your food porn rocked! DS15 has been giving me all kinds of heck about wanting to eat at Fultons because he wants lobster & crab (I kid you not, I think I have a little 'foodie' on my hands...his 'Sweet 16' dream is a trip to WDW w/just DH, me, & him so he can go to the Chef's Table at V&A's... :scared1:). He saw your crab legs and got excited. LOL!

Rorey, we try to create little "honeymoon" experiences whenever we can since we didn't really have a honemoon when we were supposed to. We were young when we got married (19 & 21). We got married on a Saturday, spent 1 night at Navarre Beach, Florida, and had to be back home to start the fall semester on Monday. :upsidedow We did a 9-night sans kids trip in 2008 to celebrate 15 years. This year we'll have the boys along while we celebrate 18. :dance3:

Great choice Rorey. Captains Grill is where we go when we want a big breakfast without the fanfare. They also have A la carte if only one of you want the big meal!

Thanks! Glad you (and your DS) enjoyed the pictures!

I have links to all of the sections in my TR, so if you want to see more pictures from other restaurants around the World, you can check those out. An alternate title to my TR could be " I have more pictures of my food than my kids. Is that wrong?"

My 10 year old is a budding foodie. His biggest food dilemma when we were in Mexico: He couldn't decide between the octopus or the squid sushi. My DH had to order one, and he got the other and they split.

Now that I'm done with my worrying phase ;) I have a few random questions. Can someone help me out here...

1) What size and shape are the coffee pot filters for the in room coffee pots? I can never remember.

2) Where can I find this Grey Goose slushie I have heard others speak about?

Thanks! and thank you for not ousting me about my construction worrying...I'll try and take a few pics to share with others when I return so anyone else who is worried will have a better idea what is going on. Now back to the :laundy: for we have one week to go!!! :cheer2:

We will be checking into BC mid-afternoon on the Fourth of July. We decided against going to a park because of crowds. Any suggestions on viewing fireworks from BC or near BC? Is it possible to see fireworks from the pool?

We're hoping that the crowds and heat won't be too bad. DH jokes that we booked Disney in July because all of the resorts on the sun were booked!

May I direct you to page 1???

I recently added this section to the FAQ and if you look at the Stormalong Bay section of the first page, you can see a picture of fireworks over SAB.

Can you see any of the Illuminations fireworks from places around the resort?

There are a few places where you can view some of the high fireworks from EPCOT's Illuminations show. Many people recommend watching the fireworks from the bridge between the Beach Club and the Boardwalk resort areas. You can also see some of the high fireworks from the Beach Club beach or from the Stormalong Bay pool.

Here is another picture I took last July;

1) Here is a picture taken by MsCoz2000 of the coffee station set up , so it looks like a 4 cup flat bottom filter would be needed.

2) Obviously, the Fantasy Mousekeeping Resort and Spa is the "in" place to get a Grey Goose, but if you are accompanied by kids (sorry, no kids allowed in the closet, my requirement) there is a slushie stand on the pathway outside of the French pavilion in the World Showcase.

3) Sorry, don't know the answer to the Memorial Day activities. See if you can read the schedule posted on page 1- maybe that lists something
