Does anyone have a few photos of the Beach Club and Yacht Club in their holiday finery?

I am looking for 3-4 from each resort to post on the front pages:

Gingerbread carousel
Train set at YC
Christmas trees
Wreaths

Next Questions: I have been pricing out what it would cost us to buy travel sized shampoo/conditioner/soap and once I buy all of that, I am thinking we could probably just buy it when we get there in the gift shop and be at the same amount or less. How much does this stuff run in the gift shop? I know we are given this stuff in our hotel, but I have a fear of not getting any and not being able to request it.

All I can think of is my son quoting what must be a you-tube spoof of Oprah "You get a humpback whale!" and "You get a humpback whale!"

Been to one of her tapings years ago and I hated it. Felt like cattle call. It was a boring show, did not get to sit with my coworkers because I wore purple and they wore bright colors so they got to sit up close and I was in the last row. Today I am wearing hot pink blazer. Rumor mill here in Chicago is Beyonce and Madonna are in town , we shall see!!!!

I have never heard of a room at Disney where the shampoo/conditioner/soap was not available, and even if it is somehow forgotten, I'm sure a quick call to either mousekeeping or the front desk would remedy that problem.

On our last trip, every day more and more shampoo was left for us. In a green moment, I decided to leave it behind so it could be used by others. As soon as I got home, I regretted the decision. The products were excellent- I buy the cheap stuff at home and I can't remember my hair ever being so soft and manageable!

We're also a family of five, so I know what you mean about having enough of this stuff. (And every once in a while one of the older boys will drain the shampoo bottle in one shower!) Restocking these items has never been a problem for us at BC - with either CL or non-CL stays. During our recent CL stay, the CMs responded to our requests very quickly. Sometimes I ask for extras right away, just to be sure we have enough.

For our family of 4 we typically leave between $4 and $5 per day. In my humble opinion, a tip of $1 per person per day is decent. We were club level and had turndown service, so we left an additional $2 per day with a note marked "Turndown, thanks!", although there are definitely different opinions about whether this is necessary. I can't remember if you are in club level or not.

It is recommended that one tips daily since it may not be the same person making up your room every day.

I always leave either an envelope or a note that says "Thanks!"

Can you see any of the Illuminations fireworks from places around the resort?

There are a few places where you can view some of the high fireworks from EPCOT's Illuminations show. Many people recommend watching the fireworks from the bridge between the Beach Club and the Boardwalk resort areas. You can also see some of the high fireworks from the Beach Club beach or from the Stormalong Bay pool.



Pixarmom, I know you were working on a list of suggested places outside of the EPCOT to view Illuminatins. Do you (or anyone else) have any additions or suggestions for the above post?

You get all this in the room so you don't need to buy any. If you need more, just call housekeeping and ask for it. If you need it quicker than that, stop by the front desk or concierge desk ... they have a supply too.

It's a last-minute decision, so flight costs aren't great but I found a decent price into RSW and out of MCO. Need a place that's isolated from the parks to stay the night before our super early flight out of MCO - trying AKL! Advice welcome!

As far as tipping for mousekeeping, I highly recommend leaving something every day and not at the end of the trip. If you leave it at the end of the vacation, a different person might be doing your room that day and the person that did your room for the previous 5 days would get nothing.

This is exactly what I have on my list - along with the balcony of room 3512! I will scout it out (with photos) in August both pre- and post-cruise!

Yes, they are all the BC. The red one looks different, eh? I'm not familiar with the BC, so if someone can confirm the background... These are photos that friends have given me for my files to share.

I have booked YC for Aug after changing my mind from AKL and now I am thinking of doing a split stay with Poly and changing over to Club level at YC for the first half of the stay.It is going to be dh 40th b-day trip and he fell in love with Poly last year but we also like the idea of SAB for my dd(10)andn we have a 16 month old ds.We can't decide between the 2 and I want to make it really special for him(he has spent the last year losing 125 pds and getting in the best shape of his life!)I was concerned about lack of counter service for the kids and thought CL would help fill in the gaps between meals.So my questions are-is there anything geared towards kids likings besides sweets and we would like to get a room with a daybed(I know it is just a request and not gauranteed)are there alot of standard or garden view rooms with daybeds or are the chances better not going club level?TIA

I'd go with one of the DTD hotels so that you have access to the shops and restaurants there. You can really get a Disney fix by visiting the downtown area with out hitting the parks (IMHO)
