2011 trips

Holy Moses! The price tag is...wow! But man this looks awfully cool!

They've removed the Med cruise ABD.

I am bummed if this is no longer an option! I would have loved to have done this in conjunction with the Med cruise. I am enjoying reading SayHello's report and how so far seamless everything has been on her ABD portion of the cruise.

Ha..I realized I said Moses about the Egypt trip prices...:rotfl:

puts a whole new spin on "let my people go":thumbsup2

Maybe it will show up again. It wasn't there in the beginning last year either. And the web site is all screwy, so who knows what else may pop up.

I'm a little disappointed in some of the pricing. I was really, really hoping that the Europe trips would have gone down a bit instead of up due to the Euro's recent decline, but apparently that wasn't the case. The other trip that floored me was the South Africa trip. It was under $5k pp when I looked earlier this week for a 12 day trip, now it's almost $6k for a 10 day trip. Now decision time is here. Where do I go? When do I go? Do I book early? Do I do a pre-trip package? I wanted to do the Alpine Magic, but the Adults Only trip isn't until Sept and that doesn't work for me. Then I looked at Australia and that trip is only $400 more pp than the Alpine Magic. Hmmm, can I convince my DW to fly 27 hours to Australia?:confused3

I'm going to Egypt in 4 months with Lindblad/National Geographic, which is highly recommended by Conde Naste and Travel & Leisure. I researched all sorts of groups and narrowed it down to this one and Abercrombie/Kent before making my final choice.

I am going for 2 nights at the Four Seasons, 2 nights at the Mena Oberoi (ranked as one of the best hotels in the world) and a 4 night Nile cruise, all meals included (and free laundry), for less than the 7 night AbD is offering.

I've done an AbD so I'll be curious to see how this compares to it.

I think we are going to do a 2011 AbD because I have so many DVC points that I need to burn but I haven't decided which one.

We've decided that w'ere doing a Galapagos trip next year. We have several good options to choose from, among them, Tauck, Lindblad, Thomson and ABD. I believe the price for ABD's trip went up by $100 this year, so that's not too bad. Since ABD ins't offering any incentives at the moment, there's no need to rush into anything. So I'll be carefully weighing all my options.

Our Guides Robyn & Tina said the ABD add-on was very popular & had gone over VERY well, and that they were considering adding it for Alaska, too. So I doubt it's gone. They probably just haven't worked out all the details yet.

What was there was all screwy for the last few days, having pricing that made no sense, and looking like it might include the cruise... So my bet is they're still ironing out the details, and it will re-appear once they've gotten everything straight. They might have to work out a second itinerary, anyways, for the 7 day cruises...

This is very good to hear! Totally crossing my fingers for the ABD deal with Alaska! This Egypt trip looks AMAZING! The April 2012 date looks real good but I really want to do an Adults only..gonna spend some time thinking on it...

Oh I do have a question! If I were to put a deposit down for the April 2012 ABD date do I still only have 14 days to get my deposit back? If so that could push me back over to the Med Cruise for 2012.

Well, assuming the website is up to date, the cancellation policy is still the same:

Regardless of when you book, your deposit of US$300 is refundable for 14 calendar days after original booking. You must notify us if you decide to cancel within this 14 calendar day period. If you cancel after this period, the following cancellation fees, calculated in calendar days prior to vacation start date, and irrespective of resale by us:

90 days or more: US$300 per person; 60-89 days: 25% of the land package price; 30-59 days: 50% of the land package price; 0-29 days: 100% of the land package price. No refunds will be made in the event of interruption or cancellation by you after the vacation start date.
So the answer appears to be: Yes. You still only have 14 days to get your deposit back.

What *is* interesting to note is that the "we won't cancel any trips within 85 days of the trip start" policy is now gone from the FAQ. I'm guessing that means that a few too many trips last year went with just a few people...

Ah, this bit appears on the individual Rates & Dates pages:

Adventures by Disney Travel Services, Inc. will not cancel any regularly scheduled departure of any 2011 season itinerary less than 70 calendar days prior to its scheduled start date, except if cancellation of same is due to: (1) non-payment by the Guest; or (2) factors beyond our reasonable control, such as, but not limited to: industry-wide strikes, civil unrest, embargos, fires, explosions, floods, earthquakes, typhoons or similar severe storm, wars (whether or not declared), or acts or threats of terrorism or a direct response to same;

So it looks like the FAQ just hasn't been updated yet. Although they did cut it down from 85 to 70 days...

Well only one new destination added and prices increase. I think Disney Hawaii is opening in Aug 2011, so I'll wait to see if ABD adds Hawaii later.

I received e-mail from ABD today and even though I have never taken any trip with ABD, I thought this Adult Exclusive trip to China was interesting. I would love to get some input about Adventure by Disney trips from people who have used them for vacation (By the way I am a long time Disney Fan! I am regular at DL and love going to WDW with my hubby when ever he let us for our Anniversary).:wizard: My relatives are trying to get me to reconsider for other tour operators since this one doesn't include the Yangzi river Cruise with the 3 gorges. Anyone has any advice? I really would appreciate any tips regarding Adventure by Disney or Must see and do for China Travel:confused:

I take it there is still no news on the ABD add on's for the 2011 Med Cruises?
