So I was just doing some thinking as we're planning for our trip here in a week or so, did they change the mugs up this year? Or are they the same red ones (with black, yellow and red tops) from last year?

The reason why I ask is because the wife and I are firm believers in the end not bringing back old mugs, ESPECIALLY when I see people at like Pop Century carrying around Caribbean beach ones or seeing ones that are at the least 10 years old around. If we can get away with bringing the mugs back down again that would be great, we went down twice last year and we're excited we didn't have to go and buy mugs again.

Can you bring back mugs from a previous trip? There is nothing to indicate on the mug that says which resort you bought it at or the date you bought it. Disney does have signs at the soda fountains that read,in essence, that the mug can only be used at the resort that it was bought at for the length of the trip it was bought in. You have to decide for yourself if you want to do that or not. popcorn::popcorn::

Technically, they can be used at any resort now that their aren't resort specific mugs anymore. However, they are still only technically to be used on the trip they are purchased on. At least that is what is printed on the ones we bought.

But isn't really something that I care about either way honestly so have at.

Does anyone know if these resort mugs have changed since last year? The mug I have currently still says Celebrate You. Do they know say Let the Memories Begin?

I plan to make a trip down this spring and hope the mugs have changed! I love getting new ones when I can.

Are you really too cheap to buy new mugs? I don't think they are that expensive

WELLLLL...I don't want to start anything here but this is our 3rd trip in 2 years. The wife and myself are ALL FOR having to buy mugs when you go down there.

However we're just wanting to save our pennies for this trip. As of now were tossing around if we want to do a disney cruise for our first anniversary and if we decide to go again in October, cause we really want to do MNSSHP now that we've done a MVMCP. however if the mugs are still the same, why on earth by them again?

It's not like I'm saying hey! I'm gonna bring my 25th anniversary mug from WAY BACK or my Year of a million dreams from even a few years back, was just asking about last years. I was just wanting to see if the design had changed yet from last years, thats all. I think I might regret asking this question now

Did you really just say that?:confused3
I look forward to buying new mugs, we have quite a collection going, but don't see anything wrong with bringing your old mug; especially if it is the current design. Gracious, people at POFQ have Dixie Landings mugs (I may be exaggerating for effect) but $12 /mug isn't exactly what I call "cheap"

Actually I thought the WDW mugs ere $$ until I encountered the $42.00 (yes, you read it right) soda mug on Royal Caribbean. I'm definitely bringing that mug back;)

As of Monday, they were the same, sadly. We always get the DxDP and only stay one night at a time, so we have a boatload (well, it feels like it, anyway) - all exactly the same. I think they are $13.99 now?

I love how you say you don't like seeing people carrying around old mugs but you don't want to buy new mugs yourself. Hello, really?

Unless they came out with new ones very very recently, they are still the same. I suggest doing a search as this question has been asked a lot. I see where you are coming from with this, but many ppl on here like to voice their opinions a little too strongly, just let some of the comments roll off your back.

Technically you have to by a mug per trip but I can see you not wanting to buy the same one over and over; we personally will but thats because of our convictions.

OK, I'll weigh in....
We were there last Feb and again in Nov....we didn't bring our old mugs, so we bought new ones. We're going again in 22 days (off site) and then again in Oct (Beach Club)...
We recently purged our house - one of the closets that was exploding was my glassware cabinet....
Unlike some other posters, I don't like having too many mugs, I have no use for them. I spend ALOT of money with the mouse and if the mug is the same, I think it'sok to use it (although I haven't done this....yet). Getting a new mug every single time when your a regular visitor is not environmetally friendly.

I think I have read before that the mugs will change over once they sell out of the old ones. We too have an over abundance of those red mugs, since they used the same mug design 2 years in a row and we went twice a year the last 2 years, we have lots of them sitting in my cabinet (mainly my kids cups cabinet because they like to use them when they are playing outside or at dinner time). Also, if you are on the DxDP (and I think either the QS or regular DDP) they are included in the price so if you have one of these meal plans, you will get them automatically and since we do the DxDP, we will be getting 4 more when we are there in May....I need more cabinet space :sad2::goodvibes

Mugs are only good for the length of your stay at your resort. They are not supposed to be brought back and used.

Posts about getting around Disney's rules are actually not supposed to be allowed on the boards.
