Im planning now for a 4 night trip with my kids and my sister in law and her kids...a mom and kids trip! Yeeayy!! Im so excited! I can call March 29 to book or reservations for 2 nights at BLT and 2 nights at AKL ( DVC 7 month booking window) ! Just 7 months to go...geezzz...let the count down begin! Disney for Halloween! Yippee!!

Jumping in!!! Planning a trip for December 2011. Will be taking my mother and DH's mother-neither have been there before- as well as the kids! It's gonna' take alot of penny-pinching to make it happen, because we are going this summer too, but I WILL make it happen!

I'm new! Planning my first ever trip with my daughter (8) and my sister (her 2nd trip) for January 2011!!! Fly in from Sydney on the 8th Jan, Disneying for 7 nights, followed by 4 nights in Hawaii - BLISS! Have booked fights and accommodation, so now the wait begins!

Does anyone know if an official Jan 2011 thread has been started anywhere? I'm still working my way though this site, but haven't been able to find one. TIA.

I don't think that's true. I just tried to book a room only, and it says you cannot book ANYTHING past 12/31/10.

You can book room only at 499 days - but only over the phone. for the poster that asked, you can book the room if you want, but you'll have to pay 1 night now (at the highest 2010 rate since 2011 rates aren't set). You can then change to a package in (likely) August when the rates/packages are released. I'd probably only do this for one of two reasons: Traveling very early in the year, putting August possibly after your ADR date (no ressie, you can't get the +10) OR if I wanted a very specific, not-many-available, hard to get room type (honeymoon suite, etc.). We've gone twice in May, garden view at the Poly, and have always just waited until August to book with no problems. Going March next year most likely and we'll probably still just wait.

Just voicing my thoughts here.

We're currently planning on staying 10 days at WDW, then going to Mexico for another 10 days, but now we're thinking that we might extend the WDW to 14 days, but only if we can afford it...

So we wont know if we can afford it until August so we can't book our Mexico part of the trip until then either, because we don't know when to start that booking from...

On the other side of it, we could leave for WDW earlier so the booking for Mexico wouldn't change, but because we'll have a lot of family and friends travelling with us - us moving our arrival date may screw up their plans

Too many complications that would be made so much easier if I could be pricing out rooms now!!

Now that I've gotten that off my chest...

So what's on in Feb/March that would make the parks busier? Obviously Spring Break, but what else? When's President's Day or MLK Day? I thought I read someone else mention Mardi Gras, does that impact on the parks too?

This will be our first trip to disney as a family i went when i was in school and we have been wanting to do this just waiting for the kids to be alittle older.There will be Myself, DH, DD who will be 5 on the time of our trip beings that what we are going for is her birthday and then DS will be 3 and DS will be 19 months old We plan on going the 11-19 of March 2011 anyone else going around that time????

Yesterday, I looked at my sweet DH and told him that will take the kids to Disney in May 2011. He is dying to go back just like I am, but will ONLY go if the entire trip is paid for in cash. By May 2011, this will be done easy peasy.

We've only been to WDW twice- once with just dd on '06 and just me and dh in '07. My poor son has never been. We have many conversations that begin with the phrase, "When I go to Disney..."

Now, let the obsession commence!! Oh, and I will probably not tell my kids and let this be a HUGE surprise for them. Cannot wait!

Well I am thinking about changing our resort already. We have stayed at POP the last two trips and we love it. This next trip though we were going to try French Quarter. I am now thinking about going back to POP. I just can't justify the extra money we would spend on a mod. We are the type that are up and at the parks at rope drop and stay until the park closes. I did this on our last trip also. Planned on a mod and then when it came time to book it was back to POP.

I really enjoyed Coronado Springs... stayed there twice and was never disappointed...

Here's my thing - I love the Deluxes (well, the Poly, that's where we've stayed) for many reasons, but one of the BIG reasons is the transportation options. If we could not do the Poly for some reason - I think I'd do a Value. We'll pay the premium prices for the Deluxe and all the conveniences that come with, but I can't see paying for a Moderate. That probably sounds silly, but I just don't see what you get with a Mod over a Value!

I think the only Mod I'd consider is Coronado Springs -for the Queen beds!
