2011 Hallowe'en 5k/Wine & Dine....Events that surround the main events...

I've surfed a bit, but didn't find this anywhere else:

I know that for the Hallowe'en 5k you get a ticket for the MNSSHP for next day ie Sunday, and that for the Wine&Dine Full & Half there's an afterparty at Epcot.

But what events are there leading up to the runs?
Expo? where/how many days hours/ freebies-items for sale- speakers?
Pre-run runs? any details?

There is a lot of information on the Inaugural Wine and Dine thread. There was an expo Friday and Saturday morning. Only speaker I remember was Jeff Galloway, I think the official run disney relationship was announced that weekend or just after it. There was a pre-run with Jeff Galloway at Epcot before park opening Friday. Only a limited number were able to run that, but a WISHer did and wrote up a nice Report.

IIRC (Reader's Disgest version) expo was Friday and Saturday, 5K was Saturday morning, half was Saturday night, afterparty right after the half finish, MNSSHP Sunday night.

I was looking at the save the dates date for that and it says Sept 30 and Oct 1 which is the Fri and Saturday so I was wondering would would the half marathon be? On the Saturday? Weird?

Pretty sure it would be the Saturday night. Since it's at night, that would make the most sense. I've seen plenty of half marathons on Saturday days listed. What's so weird about it?

MNNSHP Sunday night for those who did the 5K

This is all last years schedule and there could be tweaks made this year but that would most likely be to the after party and perhaps MNSSHP.

I've read the whole thread from last year about all the issues, I have some questions for anyone that might know that I didn't find...

For those people that did the 5K, were there the same problems as with the 1/2? (crowding, bag issues, etc) and what about MNSSHP? Was it more crowded b/c the tickets were only for the Sunday party and everyone who did the 5K went to Sunday's MNSSHP? What about discounted park tickets? Are those only for the 1/2, or anyone participating in the weekend events (5K specifically).

Thanks, seems like alot packed in to 2 days. We are booked for the kids race, the 5K and the half for the princess so I had a hard time seeming the schedule for all that in 2 days plus the expo for this race.

Are we able to buy tickets for family members for MNSSHP that aren't running the 5K? Will that Sunday nights MNSSHP be busier than others?

As long as the party doesn't sell out MNSSHP tickets will be available for the public.

I can't answer about the business of the MNSSHP though because I didn't attend.

I don't think the 5K MNSSHP was any more crowded than other times I've gone. I think Disney sticks with a quota for each scheduled day and doesn't budge it. I guess it depends on the day and how popular it is for guests and the public.
