**2011** Epcot Food & Wine Festival HAS ENDED. 2012 Festival 9/28 - 11/11

Me too! Anyone know if these sell out really fast? We won't be there until the end of October. And being a DVC pin do they limit selling them to only members showing their blue card (I hope so, otherwise it takes the uniqueness away of being a DVC pin if anyone can buy one).

They will probably be available. Disney's limited editiions are pretty big and pin trading isn't what is was a few years ago.

You will have to show your member card to get the DVC pin and your AP to get that one. Sometimes there is a DisneyVisa one too....

To all you F&W veterans, what is your favorite dish? I know there are a few new ones but what old dishes are a must do?

I'm by no means a veteran of Epcot F&W but my favorites are both in Ireland, the Fisherman's Pie as a savory and the chocolate lava cake for the sweet!

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely be giving the blackberry wit a try.

Not a veteran with only 2 under my belt, but so far my favorites have been the Belgian Waffles & Chicken Souvlaki. The chocolate lava cake is really good, but I refuse to buy it anymore because it's just to dang small for the money. I really like the milk chocolate creme brulee too.

Since these are exclusive pins, where are we able to purchase them?

Since you seem to be a DVC member, you can show your membership card at the large main pin station located before you cross bridge into WS. They have passholder and DVC pins locked in glass cases, but will pull out for you and sell to you long as you have your card.

If I remember correctly they are at the festival center and yes you must show your card or AP to get them.

Thanks. Also an AP holder. I remember the last AP pin I bought was for a MNSSHP a few years back and they were selling it in the building across from City Hall where they used to have The Walt Disney exhibit.

here's the Disney site that will give you the number of pins manufactured for each pin's edition. The DVC is limited to 1,000. AP limited to 2,500.

IS there anyway to buy the little mini wrist giftcards before the actual festival starts. We will be attending on the first day and I wanted to buy these as a little gift for everyone in my party

Not that I've ever seen.

These cards are not specific denominations. You tell the cast member how much you want on the card, and the cast member will load that amount to it. You can re-load the card at any store or the festival kiosks in World Showcase. (But I did have a French cast member tell me she couldn't. She didn't know how.)

These cards are sold at gift shops, at Guest Relations, and the Festival Center (in the former Wonders of Life pavilion between the Energy pavilion and Mission:Space). There are some random festival merchandise locations set up along the World Showcase area that sell them, as well.

To answer the questions I do not believe they sell the gift cards before the start of the festival. You will have to get them that morning. I think what you wanted to do was already have them to give to your party before you enter the park. There is a minimum amount you have to load on them (something like $5). Cast members may have earlier access to the festival center.

As was pointed out above no one knows of a way to buy these in advance.

You can buy basic Disney gift cards (3 pack of $15 gift cards) at my local grocery store.

Not that we know of. I have never seen the wristband gift cards go on sale before the start of the festival. If you know any cast members, they may have access to the Festival Center and its shop before the festival start date. But that's it. You will have to get them on the opening day.

In addition, they sell wristbanded gift cards at the water parks. But those will not have a Festival theme.

If you arrive before Epcot opens that day, you can go to any willcall window and purchase the cards, and then get in line for the turnstile gates. Is that what you meant?

Just got an email about the TIW discounts. Looks like TIW holders will be able to advance purchase tickets to certain Mon-Thu. events (mixology, culinary demos & wine demos) starting 8/12 via the 407-WDW-FEST line. Still no info on the actual schedule of deminars. It does say the info. will be available at disneyworld.com/foodand wine. No date though. I'm guessing 8/12 at 12:01 a.m.! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a Thu. or Mon. Buddy Valastro demo so I can skip the pricey Sweet Sundays.

I'm just catching up on the last weeks posting but felt I wanted to chime in about PFTS and accessibility. Last year I had knee surgery just prior to the festival. I was in a wheel chair but had some limited ability to walk with a full leg brace. My husband and I have been to 4 previous parties and always enjoyed moving from place to place rather than claiming a particular table.

As we entered with me in my wheel chair, a cast member saw us and directed us to a two person table in the middle of the room. He stashed my chair for me (wouldn't have been able to wheel myself on the carpet and hold a plate or glass anyway). He also seemed to keep an eye on us through the evening, offering to get me ice for my knee or anything else. As the night wore on, he even got me a refill of wine a couple of times when the crowd had really died out. I think he was going above and way beyond what was expected but it made for a really easy night for us. Crowd level will affect your ability to get around in a scooter or wheel chair but the cast members really want to make it work for everyone. At least that was our experience. While one in particular seemed to keep his eye on us, several helped me at various times in the evening. It was a great night and my immobility wasn't a problem.

Enjoy!
